    Organic produce is no longer as expensive as before not even more so than regular. Buy in organic supermarkets instead or local real farm markets. You still need to wash them the way she says here.
    By the way, the more we buy organic the more the price goes down. Support your organic farming!

    I use old toothbrush as food brush. I find baking soda water is highly effective. If I want my veggies to stay fresh longer, vinegar water is best for leafy greens and fruits.

    Thank you, christina! This felt like a short documentary on what to do when you bring produce back from the market. Respectfully, if I may add, growing your own food is ultimately the way to go in order to create a sustainable, organic food source. You can choose your own soil and growing method. I could go on forever, but this is not my channel, so I am grateful.

    Thank you as this is so important for me as I am no longer where I have a garden anymore. I will eventually have that again. I use to use LOC to wash my vegetables as this makes water heavier and does release toxins from our veggies. Gosh they would taste wonderful. I will get some from my storage and I am so happy I watched this for now. You are wonderful from Navajo Grandma

    Your hacks are awesome . The plastic cutting board? You’re not worried about Micro plastics in food. I saw grooves in on mine and pieces coming up. I don’t use it for cutting anymore

    To be safe I soak veggies and fruits in baking soda/salt water solution. Then spray and rinse with vinegar/water solution, I keep a spray bottle by the sink. Can never be too safe.

      Uncommon Knowledge some people don't know about salt; is that American salt(s) & bleach derive from the same source! Haven't you knoticed that during a snow season they use salt on thr asphalt. & it's powerful enough to tearup the street!

    Thanks, Christina, this is very useful. I've been using the baking soda method for years--years!--ever since America's Test Kitchen ran tests for home-made produce cleansers, and favored baking soda solution, with vinegar coming in second. I have often wondered, after all these years of alternating baking soda soaks with vinegar soaks, if they're still thought effective. Thanks for posting!

    • @gergelyzoltan8422
      @gergelyzoltan8422 Год назад +6

      you cannot remove that. You can only remove pesticides residues on the surface. The best thing is really to grow your own veggies and fruits

    Their is no way to wash pesticide. I learn that yesterday in my health and security class. A guy in my class is a pesticide specialist and he explain us insect we try to eliminated have so much look like neurological system it make pesticide efficant only if the fruit grown in contact with it and asbord it in the cellular structure. Basicly it not killing you because the dosage is way to low for your weight... But every longterm exposition can do damage. I think it's not bad to look bio alternative for the dirty 12 and encourage local industry where it safe.

      yes, and frankly you should be using sea salt (himilayan, or redmonds real salt) for everything
      stay away from the processed white salt

      I dont know If there us proof but it makes sense to wash your vege and fruit prior to eating anyway. Even if it doesn't get rid of all the pesticides. Giving it all a good wash doesn't harm.
