- This lecture is all about Interacting with HDFS using Command Line Interface and Ambari Web UI where we have worked with Hadoop Distributed File System(HDFS) using command line tool called Putty and also using Ambari Web UI which is a simpler way than command line since we don't need to run any command and everything will be a click away!
But if you're a programmer then below Hadoop HDFS commands will help you crunch the Big Data:
ls: This command is used to list all the files.
mkdir: To create a directory.
touchz: It creates an empty file.
copyFromLocal (or) put: To copy files/folders from local file system to hdfs store.
cat: To print file contents.
copyToLocal (or) get: To copy files/folders from hdfs store to local file system.
In the previous lecture we have seen setting up Hadoop cluster on your Windows PC where we have installed Hortonworks Data Platform which will allow to work with different Hadoop ecosystem tools such as
MapReduce
YARN
Hive
Apache Pig
Apache HBase and HBase components
Apache mahout
Sqoop
Apache Spark
Apache Flume
Ambari
Zookeeper
Apache Oozie

each time i am running ambari server those red alerts appear on services like first time. Does this happen every time we run hdp sandbox? In your video no red alerts were there.
Sorry for late reply. Yes it'll take some time to kick off all your services but it will disappear after 20-30 mins. Please let me know if you're facing any issues around it.

I tried to upload a json file of 1 gb from dashoboard using upload button . but it is not uploading.
Hello, yeah its pretty big file so it may cause issue uploading through dashboard. But you can use winscp tool to transport such a big file. I guess this will do the trick. 😃

Yes, mostly these will be due to connection issues. Could you pls restart your sandbox and allow the operation “Restart All Services” to complete.
