HDFS- All you need to know! | Hadoop Distributed File System | Hadoop Full Course | Lecture 5

This lecture is all about Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) where we have seen what is HDFS, Architecture of HDFS which includes NameNode, DataNode, after that we have seen one of the most important topic which is Rack Awareness, Hadoop HDFS features and some basic HDFS command to work with our files.
Hadoop HDFS commands which will help you crunch the Big Data:
ls: This command is used to list all the files.
mkdir: To create a directory.
touchz: It creates an empty file.
copyFromLocal (or) put: To copy files/folders from local file system to hdfs store.
cat: To print file contents.
copyToLocal (or) get: To copy files/folders from hdfs store to local file system.
In the previous lecture we have seen Interacting with HDFS using Command Line Interface and Ambari Web UI where we have worked with Hadoop Distributed File System(HDFS) using command line tool called Putty and also using Ambari Web UI which is a simpler way than command line since we don't need to run any command and everything will be a click away!
