hi:: i tried this,, it was rlly good but a bit tangy/slightly bitter due to the sparkling water altho i loved it, i don’t have much tips but honestly try it out! 🤍🤍
Don't even need to cook anything- just just up some strawberries, mix in some sugar, and let it sit and get juicy. A few hours will get you a pretty good amount of syrup.
@darkirtyalfa Your recipe doesn't sound like some thing you "just" do to me. I take strawberries without the leaves and fill a mug with them, then I stab and stomp and "stir" them with a fork until there's enough space left in the mug (due to the strawberries being crushed) to add an arbitrary amount of sugar, then I stap and stomp and stir all of that a little bit more until there are still pretty big strawberry chunks left, then I fill up the mug with milk and mostly stir (and stab and stomp) everything until it looks drinkable, then I try it and add some sugar or milk if I want to (and stir it again if I did), and then I drink it.
I just cut the strawberries into pieces, dump them in a bowl, sprinkle them with sugar and add milk. I eat the strawberries with milk like they're a bowl of cereal. When I've finished eating the strawberries, I gulp down the remaining milk - that by now has turned into strawberry milk.
I always just do 50g frozen strawberries, 30g brown sugar, 20g water. Heat it up in a skillet (and mash strawberries around with fork) until I get a bright red syrup. Syrup, ice, tall glass of milk. 🥰
The leftover “pulp” of the berries... I wonder if you could still use this for anything. Thoughts? I was thinking maybe freezing in an ice cube tray and putting in lemonade? Would there be enough strawberry sweetness left?
Depending on whether you like pulp in your drinks, you can just not strain the syrup and instead blend or mash is and use it with the pulp. Depending on how much of it you blend/mash, you can control how "chunky" it is. For strawberry milk in particular though, some people are bothered by the seeds. If you have a high powered blender they can blend the seeds out for the most part. Lots of recipes keep the pulp in the strawberry milk, it's just personal preference. Same goes for using the syrup for other things too!
every late summer when i go pick up blueberries, since being a kid i have always made blueberrymilk/mustikkamaito, which is just bunch of fresh blueberries in milk and you eat them like cereal.
I always cook mine in simple syrup then break them down with a masher. Didn’t know that could make it change its colour 🤷🏻♀️ Mine has always turned pastel pink even when I use brown sugar when I run out of white.
What's wrong with just putting some strawberries with milk in a blender and calling it a day? How different is strawberry milk from strawberry milkshake despite the amount of strawberry flavor (which you can control by just not adding as many strawberries). Genuinely want to know, never had strawberry milk, it's just not a thing where im from.
It's the texture. Strawberry milk shouldn't have strawberry solids or the fiber or whatever the flesh of the strawberry is made from. It should have the same texture as milk, just with the additional flavor from the syrup. Pureeing the whole fruit with milk is more of a smoothie. (It's a milkshake when you add ice cream and puree it all together.)
0:32 "PEPER"? 0:42 "pink pastel"? I always considered "pink" to be "pastel red". 1:44 Those are eights, not quarters. 2:53 You taught me that water with dissolved sugar in it is "simple sirup". Interesting. Thanks. 3:05 to 3:10 This sounds as if you're talking about additional sugar, not just the one dissolved in water. And about putting that additional(?) sugar in milk. But in your "Ratio Table" at 3:12 you don't mention additional sugar. 3:12 Is it 450 grammes of strawberries after you remove the leaves (and part of the flesh) or before? Here it sounds to me as if you're talking about 450 grammes *before* removing the leaves (and part of the flesh). 3:18 What does "yielded" in this context mean? Nice video. I want to do this recipe and I want to do it using cheesecloth. The latter mainly because I want to use cheesecloth to see what it's like.
If you don’t wanna do any of this, something I’ve done in the past is just put diced strawberries and sugar into a bowl and let it sit together for a while, then pour that shit into milk, not as good but it’s strawberry milk still 😳
Yeah, blending some strawberries/sugar together until they're a paste and then pouring milk in the blender and mixing everything for another 30 seconds should work just fine. Once fridged the milk shouldn't spoil for at least a few days.
I would love to make my own strawberry milk but it will costs much more than store bought because the strawberries only, will costs me 40 bucks that's around 17 USD
You can also mix the syrup with sparkling water for your own strawberry soda.
oooo that’s sounds good!! i’ll be sure to try

This is wild. I literally made homemade strawberry milk yesterday!
Me too!!!
All it revealed was my strawberries are watery as hell
Dude I was going to make it yesterday but didnt know how to approach it!
How’d it turn out?
Thanks for the recipe and for explaining why the steps are nessesary.
I love when tutorials explain the "why" behind each step! Makes it all make so much more sense
Am I the only one who just dumps strawberries on a blender along with milk, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon, blend and serve?
No, you are not. I was wondering what recipe this would be as I read the title.

Marie Lastname i honestly dont understand what you are saying. Why the “just”?
Not anymore, because I'm stealing that recipe.

The granules of sugar don't just help break down the cell walls, they're also a desiccant so they physically leech the cells as well. :)

I just tried this and it was so much better than the recipes I've tried that have you cook the strawberries! It tastes so much fresher

Lol I actually tried doing this a couple months ago just winging it and totally botched it. Going have to try this method, thanks for sharing ✌️❤️
Quicker way just throw strawberries and sugar in a blender, strain, add to milk

I use Chef John's strawberry syrup! It's not very colourful but its damn good.

Great video as always!
Soooooo why not just use a blender?
0:16 ish .... strawberry: rolls. Me: it’s alive!!!
How did it move from its initial position into the other one like that without being touched?
It's insane but i cannot afford fresh strawberries, so I wonder if one could make strawberry milk with frozen strawberries
Looks delicious!
Good work!
Omg amazing, thanks! Can you do banana milk next? That was my fav.

Looks easy to make although it does look time consuming.

Would it be possible to dehydrate the syrup and make a powdered form? Asking because I have no idea.
If you got a blender you can also just blend the strawberries instead of crushing them.
Question for you, Could you just puy the "Hulled" Strawberries in a blender and blitz them for a couple of minutes ?
A easy way it to cut the strawberry into little peices put it in a blend then put milk in there then some sugar there u go strawberry milk
