    What a beautiful post!! Thank you for sharing!! You sound like you live uptown in the Garden district 😘❤! I've lived all over this city and love Italian people! I personally think the nola accent has been influenced more by yall than anyone else. Beautiful! Stay safe!

      @Vittorio Pantano
      Buongiorno Vittorio My family from provincia di Palermo city of Camporeale.( see Camporeale on RUclips) immigrato a New Orleans 1890
      Moved to Cheyenne Wyoming and became head of Italian Affairs serving il suo patria as translator for Italian railroad workers. A simple
      shoemaker/calsolaio
      Are you aware that during WWII sicilianos were put in internment camp as well the Japanese. 1890 was a bloodbath of sicilianos in New Orleans, they were hung and stripped of dignity as well of material necessities. The prejudice was a claim the were all mafiosi..ignorant whites hunted them like dogs. This nation claims basically is its. " one nation under God" A nation of hypocrite marching with idol cross thru the streets. Scorsese hasn't helped nor de Niro or any actor romanticizing Italian criminals.
      Paolo
      Cordiali saluti,
      Paolo

    Its not that the former slaves weren't available the issue that the former spaves owners didn't want to PAY people who had formerly been their slave

    Can you help me find out about my family? Caroline Cangimella is my great grandmother, I think that is how you spell her last name. She grew up in the 9th Ward in New Orleans, Louisiana.
