This is valuable advice. As a real world diamond 40 pilot this is actually a very good way to land that aircraft. And in Microsoft flight simulator where you cannot field G forces of the plane dropping towards the runway it is also a very good way to deal with Landing especially for beginners
Great video. Thanks for sharing your real-world aviation knowledge. When it comes to landing am I right in assuming that one of the key visual queues for when to start your flair is when your focus is at the end of the runway and then being mindful of the 'shape' of the runway closest to you in your peripheral vision as it gradually 'widens' in shape as a visual clue to how far off the ground you are?
Narrow and long I can take... Once landed on the shortest runway I've ever seen, basically had to dig in hard to stop, and I recon it was probably only 45m long at best... funny thing though... it was the widest runway I had ever landed on, must have been well over 2,000m wide. Then again, I was pretty drunk.
The Bob Ross of Flight Sim. Let's do a happy little landing here.

I was hoping to watch the replay from the outside… great landing!

Did you pull your throttle to idle before touchdown or after?
You put the throttle to idle right before you touchdown, so before touchdown
Note this technique isn't for all planes, like even a 182,but works great on a 172
@@DKNSinha yup that's true, but I was referring to this video
