You're getting to be an old hand at moving round bales! I might be wrong, but I would think for potential customers there are plenty of people out there with those small, compact tractors that are popular now, that can handle a 4X4 bale.
Ha ha! Much easier without a camera in hand…. Yes - horse customers prefer the 4x4’s and some cattle customers too. I’ve been watching some videos and it is impressive how some of these compact tractors can handle a 4x4 bale.
Put a 3pt spear on the back of the MF50 and haul two bales from the field to the barn without a second tractor and wagon. I think you had a heavy duty round bale chassis in a prior video you planned to retrofit. As far as round bale storage, Greg Judy channel puts a pair of logs on the ground to keep the bales up out of the dirt and retain feed value.
If you noticed in the video, the rear tires are in very bad shape - I pointed it out. The less revolutions, the better until they are replaced, hence the other tractor. The 3pt spear I have is ineffective in these tight 4x4 bales, it’s diameter is to large vs the bale weight and tends to push the bales over. We plan to put the round bales in our barn vs outdoor storage where as much as 1/3rd of the bale is lost to the elements and may even wrap them in the future if space is limited. While I appreciate the comments, I have a pretty good idea what I’m doing. Question - do you farm? Have you got a RUclips channel I can reference like Greg Judy?
Get creative and put a cross bar. On the lift arms with a ball pull the trailer with the Massey drop and load trailer pull back to barn repeat. Only need one tractor maybe easier on you
@ just one of my crazy ideas. I have been at hay making in a small way for many years tried a lot of things some good some not so good. I like your methods
Did good with the MF 50, I'd keep it and just fix it up as much as you feel like doing. Bales look nice there.
Thanks!
Nice job! Definitely need you a little bigger trailer though if you start doing it much.
Thanks! A wagon is on the list… 👍
Get two power poles extend the reach hall 6 plus bales with one wagon works great

Thought of that, but the tires on the MF 50 are in critical condition, hence the JD…
