I have lost my sewing mojo for about 5 years now and I said this year I want to get back to sewing. I think this is a great and easy pattern for me to start with. Thanks so much for sharing your favorite cardigan pattern.
I've been wanting to sew a cardigan. I bought one a couple of years ago. But I've lost some weight. I thought about just downsizing it. But lately had been thinking of learning how to sew and making a couple. So this video was right on time. Thank you for this.
I got this pattern when it first came out years ago and have made it dozens of times. The only adjustment I made was slim down the sleeves and tightened the cuff. I need to make it again because a sistah has gained some weight, lol. This is awesome. Well worth the effort.
Hi Mimi, love watching your videos! I am wondering about how you are sewing the knit fabric. I noticed the stitching looks to be a straight stitch. Can you give your secrets to sewing knits with straight stitches so they don’t pop when stretched? Thank you! 😘
Hi! Great question, unless the knit garment is fitted over my body and will stretch I use a straight stitch, if the seam line will stretch around my body like the waist, hem, etc. then I use a narrow zigzag or I sew the garment on my serger. This is a loose fitting garment so there is not much chance of you popping stitches putting it on and off.
Love this pattern and am looking forward to giving it a try! We don't need stay tape for the shoulders so they don't stretch? If we decide to put buttons in, should we use a stabilizer for the neck band?
Hello Mimi, Great job on the video sew along. I signed up for your newsletter, but I have not received an update or the download link for the free pattern.
This is a sweater knit form Joann but you can use any knit, doesn't need to be a sweater knit. It can be lightweight jersey for a lighter weight cardigan or a Ponte for more structure or sweatshirt fleece etc.
Hi Mimi, did you use a regular sewing foot and what did you set you tension and width at? I am a newbie to sewing. So I need the tea tea. Thanks and thanks for the free pattern. I enjoyed the vdo. It is so cute.
When we talk about beauty and elegance ,then we.. are talking about Mimi.❤ Hello, teacher l liked your patterns they're so beautiful, very clear demonstration 🎉🎉 would you please tell me how to get your magazines.Iam watching you from Tripoli, and lam highly appreciated teacher.❤❤❤❤

Hi, we tested the download button. Question, did you get the email in your inbox? If so when you click the download button it should auto download to your computer and then it just defaults over to my blog. The download button is instant can you check your recent downloads on your computer?
They are actually. This pattern is very old from before we had extended our sizing. Our new patterns go up to a 71” hip unfortunately this one was needs updating.

@@MimiGStyleshow Thank you! Many of us are afraid of knits because we don’t want to use a zigzag stitch! 😉
@@terilynn5525it's not as bad as you think. Practice on scrap fabric.
Where did you buy your fabric?
Thank you so much!

What knitting are you using? I really like it
Its a sweater knit from Joann
Yes!
Thank you!
How cute and easy! What kind of pressing cloth do you use, please and thank you!
I think the one in the video is a piece of organza
Thank you! @@MimiGStyleshow

If you are using a really stretchy knit and or plan to put on button then yes, it's a good idea to add a stabilizer at the shoulder.
Thanks Mi Mi. I don't have a serger, do should I use a zig zag stitch for the edge?
Yes a zig zag on your machine works too
@@MimiGStyleshow Thanks so much!
Thanks you! 🥰
You're welcome!
Can’t wait
Thanks!
Looks amazing as always❤, I also went through all steps to download and no response email
Did you check your spam?

@MimiGStyleshow , yes, I checked my spam first. I still have not received an email.
❤ thank you

Hi Mimi!! Quick question, it looks like you top stitched the bottom band. If you did, did you top stitch the band around the neck and front? Thanks!!!
Hi! No actually I didn’t but it’s totally up to you.
What are you using as your pressing cloth?
That is silk organza - press cloth
Any chance you will update this soon for larger sizes?
@@bzystpn yes we’ve been working on updating many of the old patterns

You will need a sweater knit

Hi, yes just my regular foot and tension is at 3.5 as usual for me, I rarely change tension on my machine. Width is usually at 2.5 or 3

Do you use a straight stich for the stiching guide?
Yes I do
Cool😊

How do you get the free pattern?
Read caption, info is there.
I haven’t got my patterns
Mine wasn’t in my primary Mail folder. It was in promotions. Check there. Also check your spam.
Why do you use 1/4 seam allowance and not 5/8 seam allowance. Thank you.
On our indie patterns we use industry standard seam allowances not commercial pattern seam allowances. The standard on knits is 1/4" or 1/2"
@ Thank you!
small sizes only, what a pity. Even 2XL is very small.
They are actually. This pattern is very old from before we had extended our sizing. Our new patterns go up to a 71” hip unfortunately this one was needs updating.
Ohhhh noooo! Are they really small? I need xl.
