Reading “Carnaval” by Haruki Murakami. Set the book aside, picked up my iPad, found this piece, turned off my reading light and just listened. My dog is now asleep with his head on the book. Beautiful piece. So glad to find others who love Murakami!

R.I.P Schumann. Even his pieces near the end of his life are so magical despite his deteriorating mental state.
this was not anything near the end of his life
@@nasirferguson4098 I never said that, as It says 'even his...'
My love for Schumann, music and the fact that I'm bipolar, same as Schumann brought me here
Schumann will always be one of my top favorite piano composers.
Mine too.

An absolutely stunning performance! He knows how to sing, beautiful phrasing, a rare artist!
Boris is one of the greatest pianists we have now days. By the depth of his performances he is among just a few..!!
Scusate: Carnaval, corretto automaticamente e io non me n'ero accorto
Gracias mil Murakami. Belleza de muy alto brillo
During the Romantic period, there were composers who, at an early stage of this time, developed music, truly to dance (suite). They usually started with an Overture or Entrance, Preamble or Symphony (not to be confused with the orchestra suite, this is completely different, much more recent and with several movements) followed by an Alemanda, Corrente, Sarabanda, Giga, Passepieds, etc. This dance was developed in conjunction with several participants, a feature of all social gatherings. Dance was one of the ways to reveal the real social importance who provided them. At the beginning of this period the countries of southern Europe and the Slavic nations made a very important contribution to the heritage of dance. At this stage, in this type of music, the works of Shumann are distinguished, especially the Carnaval op 9.It is a music of great sensitivity and above all directed to the dance that was practiced in the mundane meetings of the time. The grace with which it is performed is outstanding, with sublime technique and great talent and delicacy. The pianist is sublime. Congratulations on excellent recording that fills us with great pleasure to hear.
What an amazing piece, thank u for the recommendation Murakami
Thank you. Chiari brought tears to my eye... as always.
An absolutely amazing interpretation of a brilliant pianist, who is distinguished by rare qualities - the ability to sing on the piano, beautiful and unique phrasing and an amazing depth of understanding of the composer's intention. . .
What a passionate performance! I am speechless. Thank you.
Beautiful. Loved this performance.
An amazing performance! A truly enjoyable experience!
Great performance of a very difficult and amazing work by Robert Schumann. Thank you.
Excellent! Beautiful playing! Brightness, powerful. Thank you. Ricardo, from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
borisis explaining perfect each phrase, each sound. an astounding pianist of this century

Beautiful pianist and wonderful piece
I’ll take this to a deserted island too
Wonderful characterisation,transparent textures,&dynamics. Bravo! Amadeus
The Carnaval made me like his (Schumann's) music even more. I can't stop listening to this...
so far this performance is the best I've heard played.
Murakami sent me
Came here after hearing it on the radio the other day. Such a nice piece.
Amazing perform !!!
Murakami brought me here
unity through diversity. Schumann the only composer who could do this. dozens of completely unique themes unified within one piece.
Bravi tutti
Thanks Murakami
Murakami sent me 😎

Great, superbe.
Fantástica interpretação. Força jovem.
amazing performance!
one of the best interpretations of schumann´s "carnaval" EVER: the big palette of romantic colors is here combined in a slightly excentric manner: fabulous!
amazing performance 💗💗
Gracias otra vez, Haruki Murakami.
Yes... I was waiting for it and i knew it will come... Sculpture experiment and this music maniac schumman just plays with his instrument as a rare genius.
Don't ever stop playing Schumann!!
Powerful and delicately.....
c
Murakami me trajo hasta aquí.
Superbe et sublime. Merci.:)
It takes a master to play a master's music.
Schumann at the summit of his genius! This is a masterpiece! I’ve loved it ever since I first heard it. The Promenade is gorgeous!
What’s difficult about Schumann (and Ravel) is that their music is difficult without being virtuosic for its own sake. You really have to make it sound musical. Carnival is a circus scene full of imagery. I felt the pianist was trying to get through this piece rather than conveying the scenes. This piece is so vivid and visceral to me. I imagine a toy box come to life!
The chosen tempos here were too extreme for my liking...
Fantastic!
Maravillosa obra y magistralmente interpretada!!
"Chopin" describes Chopin musically..it's also a pure type of platonic love letter to Chopin ( who he helped discover). the beauty of the music is bewitching.
I love how it is still very much a Schumann piece though as it seems like he is in no way trying to mimic Chopin.
13:44 Best part.
Its called "Chopin"
❤️

Search this song while i read Murakami’s book...amazing
Muito bonito! Robert schumann
Wow, the Reconnaisance got me drop my jaw
crystaline clarity. A+
After listening to several other performances on RUclips by Boris Giltburg, I must agree with you 100%. The clarity, the ability to distinctly hear every note and the weight given to it, is the characteristic of his performances I am most impressed with.
I guess it's just so hard to forget such amazing performances such as Arthur Rubinstein..lol. Will forever LOVE that man's interpretation
Murakami nas nadahnjuje!
Excelente Boris Giltburg !!!!!!! Ema Knoch
Murakami here I am
The best version I've heard-certainly better than mine! Not sure what the critisims are about the preamble...
19:32 best part of the set
I love the contrast between Florestan and Eusebius! I'm wondering if they are manifestations of Schumann's bipolar disorder, which I believe is also reflected in Chopin's Second Ballade, and is conveniently dedicated to Schumann. Perhaps Frederic was on to something?
Me too! Hello from USA.
It was worth watching him adjust his seat for 10 000 hours ;)
oh, just nerves :)
More like 40 seconds. The pianist must take as long as he wishes to ensure that everything is right for him.
Spoken like a true non pianist.
