How to Crochet for Absolute Beginners | Lesson 9: How to Read a Crochet Pattern

This is Lesson 9 in my brand new comprehensive series to teach absolute beginners how to crochet! These videos will be recorded as if I were teaching you how to crochet in person and will be 12 lessons in total.
In this video, I teach you how to read and follow a standard crochet pattern so you can make this textured dishcloth with a chevron pattern.
I also teach you how to read a stitch chart to make this dishcloth, which uses the universal stitch symbols I have been teaching you along with the stitch abbreviations in Lesson 1-8.

For this tutorial, you are welcome to use the supplies you have on hand, but I do recommend that you choose a light, solid-colored worsted weight yarn that is 100% cotton, and contains at least 75 yds. All other supplies are listed in the pattern linked above.

It is a very well-done class. I was learning myself to crochet, and this would help me a lot in the past.. currently, i was most interested in weaving ends 😂 because nobody wants to show that, Haha.
