  • Jean Hunt Steffens, daughter of Herman "Hardtimes" Hunt takes you on a tour of what Oyster, Virginia was like when her Father "Hardtimes" Hunt lived there and everyone hung out at McCready`s Lunch. The Chamber of Commerse met there and to be a member, you wrote your name on the wall and when you resigned, you erased your name. “Hardtimes” starting writing in the 1950s for newspapers across the bay, but found his calling by writing about the characters in Oyster, Virginia and writing letters to the editor.
