Does anyone know whether this is the Kathy Phipps of the 1990s band, the Daring Angels? Kathy Phipps and Wendy Sobel were terrific as the Daring Angels. The group's compact disc is titled "Turned Around" and it is a must-have item. Phipps, with Greg Greenway, was also excellent on the CD, "Songs of Elmer Hawkes." If this is a match, then the Kathy Phipps in this video fully lives up to John Black's description. The technical quality of the video is not the best but it is still great to have it. I know Wendy Sobel mainly for her association with one of my favorite singers, Didi Stewart. To this day, I can't begin to understand why their 1980s Boston rock band, Girls Night Out, was not signed to a major label contract. The major record label business has not always been known for its good sense. If there was a weakness in the lineup I couldn't detect it. Check out "Love Under Pressure" from the eponymous GNO EP if you can. It is my hope that I am not making a mistaken identity and I apologize if I am. It has been a good number of years; and from the video, I just can't tell. MCMAA in the video's title seems right - Massachusetts Country Music Awards Association.
