You have put together a helpful series of videos. Thank you for taking the time to do so. Here is some recent (15 April 2022) information on the larger size, blue, o-ring fitted to the probe. It appears the o-ring is a -009 size with a cross section of 0.070, ID= 0.208, and OD =0.348 inches. They can be purchased individually from suppliers or you can source a kit off the big A. The silicone kit is $54. Silicone has better high temperature properties than nitrile or Viton. I suggest you take the time to replace them all when you have the case open. If one goes bad the rest are soon to follow. Keep the fixer community strong!
What brought you to the 009 conclusion? From everything I've seen online and on my own machine, the general consensus is that the probe o rings are 010
trial and error. The 009 was a close visual match, plus by trial and error, I found that it worked where the other sizes leaked. How did you determine the 010 was the correct size? I searched but could not find a reference.
Thanks for this, Joe! Your video helped me fix a leak on the steam boiler. Tip for others attempting to do the same: wait until the boilers have cooled before removing any of the hoses or sensors! 😁
Yes^ I learnt this the hard way. And by hard way I mean opening one of the steam pipes and getting splashed in the face with water, the splash reaching all the way to the ceiling...
While my machine is a four year old Breville Oracle, the boiler configuration is pretty much the same as with the dual boiler. My leak was exactly the same spot as you show on the steam boiler - washer and two o-rings. It was causing my GFCI to trip. In my case it was just ordering type 006 o-rings from Amazon. Between someone else's video that showed how to remove the top and your's explaining the replacement, it was an easy fix. Thanks!
Breville/Sage has now replaced the old orange & Blue o-rings with Black O-Rings in their newer batch of these machines which are more durable, they also changed the part numbers in their service manuals, smaller o-ring is SP0102912 and in the service manual its size is mentioned as 3.4 x 1.9MM, bigger o-ring is SP0102914 and in the service manual its size is mentioned as 5.5 x 1.98MM. Breville sells it as a pack of 6, so you will need 2xSP0102912 and 1xSP0102914.
Such a lifesaver! Thanks for the great info in this video. I’m facing a massive leak on that connection between the steam and brew boilers. You answered all the questions I had!!
Thank you for this video very helpful...up until I see no part number shared. I see alot of the comments asking the same exact question Joe,what is the size for the orange thicker Oring. Great video series. I have the same machine and I’ve had pretty good luck until now. Do you know why the hose from the top solenoid gets all sticky? Seems to be a common issue from what I can gather but I can’t seem to find out why.
I did add the new thicker/fatter O-rings for the leaky gasket. But it still keeps leaking. But one thing I noticed you said is there should be washers also. I don’t actually have those washers on the replaced leaky gaskets. Where can I get those? If that doesn’t work, what other options can I have tho seal the leaky gasket? Epoxy Glue?
Thanks a lot for this video, really excellent. I have the same issue on my Breville Oracle. Just opened it up and identified 4 (!) leaks of which one large one. I’m in Oman now, so hope that I can find the o-rings here.
Great video. Any advice on removing the left probe on the brew boiler? I removed the right one just fine but the left one gets stuck after lifting it up 1/4 of an inch.
You've either got an old machine with aged gaskets/o-rings or a lot of scale that's preventing the gaskets/o-rings from sealing. You could start by descaling, or start by replacing the gaskets/o-rings. I used ereplacementparts.com to see the exploded view and find the parts I needed.
I am working on this fix with a newer model Oracle. It has nuts securing the hose connection between boilers (previously the plastic or rubber boot), does anyone know how to remove these nuts? I suspect it is threaded, but mine is very tight and I hesitate to force anything?
I suspect there is but I've never come across it. If you get stuck you could make your own out of stainless steel, it doesn't have to be perfect since it's just a spacer.
Hi Joe, great video.... I have descaled my bes908XL and now have a 3 beep issue with the steam wand... do you know what I can do to fix this? Many thanks Tim
Hi Joe, I have the Oracle touch and my steamer stopped working. When I push the steam buton I can hear an electric click but nothing happens. No steam comes out and the pump does not start. I suspect there is some calcium build up or possibly the pump gone bad but I don’t know. I looked inside but could not find any obvious defects. Any idea how I can identify the problem and solve it? Many thanks!! 😊
Thanks heaps for this video! On mine, the hose that connects to the steam wand was leaking steam (at boiler end) due to the perished orange o-ring. I have replaced it with a black o-ring with the same dimensions. No more leaks however now the machine beeps 3 times when I go to use the steam wand. Any ideas? Thanks so much! Tom.
Joe: I have a Breville BES920XL (Dual boiler). The steam boiler is no longer producing steam for the steam wand. The hot water tube is only dripping hot water - I can no longer get enough hot water from this source for Americano coffee's. However, the hot water tube continues to leak hot water and has leaked for some time. From your experience, would you say that my OPV valve is causing the problem? Please let me know. Thanks for the VERY instructional video's!!!!
Best guess is that you have a lot of scale buildup which has clogged the steam wand and obstructed the gasket/o-rings on the water spout. BES920XL is easy to descale due to the introduction of the boiler drain plugs (they were not on the 900 model). You may have to descale several times if there's a lot of accumulation.
What a Great Video Joe. Hopefully, thanks to you and the rest of the information in this forum I can fix the issue with my BES980XL. I assume it is going to be the same boiler and hoses as the 900XL. Question, I wanted to make sure and purchase the exact type o-rings as everyone else. If everyone has had great success, I would like to follow the same path if possible. Does anyone have a link to amazon for the three size o-rings that Joe mentioned?
Hey, thanks for the fast reply. Specifically, do you have the part numbers for the orange and blue o-rings? I may have found the orange, but still looking for the blue. Obviously, the OEM is discontinued and cannot find the replacement for blue rings.
There's another port down on the side of the steam boiler behind the electrical wires; what's that configuration? Mine's covered in what looks like an wasp nest but made of lime scale, and I'd hate to work my way in there only to realise I didn't have the parts I needed or to drop something without realising it was missing.
Hi thanks for this video as it will enable me to do repairs to my Breville 920XL that is leaking water. I have started the repair but I lost one of those little steel washers that goes on the hose before the two o rings...any idea what size these washers are.
Hi, do you know the sizes of o ring? -007 for the smaller one? And the other? I’m going to order a pack of “aflas” o rings but want to make sure I get the right size. Thanks!
Hi Joe, Thanks for this informative vid. I used it to solve a leak that kept tripping my mains circuit breaker. However, a few months later, my duo boiler keeps heating up to around 140 degree celcius (instead of 93). Do you have any suggestions on how to fix?
I've heard of this problem before but I'm unaware of the solution. Sorry couldn't be more help - keep goggling since this seems fairly common. Also, before spending too much more $ on the Breville I strongly suggest looking at an ECM or Profitec. I moved to a (used) Pro700 and, despite the high initial cost, it has been terrific and and very consistent in the 18 months I've have it...also very good for parts and easy repairs.
@@322816 Thats great to hear. I've been looking at the ECM and Profitec. Im having this same problem in addition to the brewing temp dropping after I pull a shot. I have to wait a minute or so before doing anything else on the machine. I have a BES980. Now that I have the machine open, I also see what looks like white battery acid build up on two probs on the brew boiler. Have you heard or experienced this? Thanks.
9 Months after my first repair - I'm back. :( Same one. Has a boot with tube going to 2nd boiler. I pulled the tube and the O-ring was stuck inside. Finally got that out. My issue is - IDK where the PIN should go. I can't push in the tube far enough for the pin to go over the metal parts on the tube. Maybe it shouldn't be put in like this. Now a metal post went into the steam boiler and the 2 leaks are fixed and 3 more now leak. Sadly 2 are the big blue o-ring which I don't have. Does anyone know if the Oracle Touch continues these problems? And if it's as difficult to fix? Mine is only 3 years old and now I see rusted screws, etc. all over.
Amazing. Super helpful video! I looked all over the internet for this exact thing. I have a leak under one of those boots. It doesn't seem to be coming up easily. Is there a trick to pulling those white boots up to access the valve?
It's probably stuck due to scale buildup. Try soaking the area in descaling solution, wait an hour and try again, You may have to repeat several times.
@@322816 Ok, O-rings finally arrived from Australia. The pin is pulled but the hose doesn't just pull up. Can I just yank on it or is there a release somehow? This is one of the valves with the boot and the double o-ring
@@jeffoberlander3346 If you've removed the locking pin then it just pulls up. If it's stuck it's either from scale or the old o-rings deteriorated and sticking in their hole. I would keep working it with descaler - be gentle and patient...as you can see by now, everything is quite fragile in there.
@@322816 I fixed it! It turns out, the circular valve casing was slightly bent making the round opening flat on one side. I was able to squeeze it back into shape and then it pulled right out. Hi Joe and all. I’m having a very hard time trying to get spare parts for the 920, specially the tube going from the steam boiler to the brew boiler that has an open line. I’ll appreciate if you can provide a link where to order this part. Thanks in advance, nice stuff Joe!.

This video is a serious lifesaver. I need to replace most of my o-rings on my machine. Do you have a size for the larger blue o-ring or did you just use the 007 for the replacements? Thanks!
Great video, thank you so much. I have question about removing high pressure hose. i have removed the pine but i am unable to remove it from steam boiler (it feels like they are glue). Does anybody have any idea how to remove them. will appreciate any suggestions. Thank you
It is most likely stuck due to scale. Apply descaling solution, let it sit for 30-60 min then try to loosen it again. You may have to do this several times.
Hi Joe, your video is very timely. I just acquired a well used and abused BES900. All three probes on the boil pot have been leaking to the point the wiring corroded. Can your recommend a site to source the parts? I'm very new to Breville.
ereplacementparts.com (US) or forumappliances.com (Canada) they have somewhat different parts at each. Failing that, Mcmaster Carr, water and steam resistant food-grade EPDM o-rings.
Did you pull the brew pump-to-steam boiler and steam boiler-to-brew boiler hose connections off (i.e. the two booted connections on the stream boiler)? I'm curious if your machine had the double (two stacked) o-rings that mine had.
I just replaced the ring on that and it did have the two stacked O-rings as you said it would. Thanks so much for this video. I can't believe I was able to replace mine and didn't have to send the machine off to be fixed for something so simple.
Hi Joe, is this the right part; www.ereplacementparts.com/oring-for-hose-connector-p-1439534.html O-Ring For Hose Connector Part Number: SP0001672 for the hose connections. Seems many of the parts are obsolete but I think I finally found this one. Tom
Sadly decided to do the one next to the booted one and wow - I can't get it down far enough to get the clip on :( got it in and it leaked steam :o Tried again - I think fixed. This is NOT easy folks. The pins are not easy. With the boots - I ended up putting the pin in and sliding the silicone boot over it. What sucked was the tube to the side of the 2 booted ones closer to steam wand side. wow - that made me cry.
Thank you! I would have 100% lost that little washer. I also used only one o ring instead of two on the two water feeds. They were both leaking. Poor design.
I have leak on the same tube that you took off. I want to remove the tube on the steam boiler side only since tat is what is leaking. How do you get the boot off. Mine is very difficult.
Mine was stuck as well due to scale from the leaking water. I used a qtip and descaling solution. Be patient, it might take many applications before it breaks down the scale enough to allow the boot to come off.
I used a 90° pick. I slipped it under the boot and moved it around. If you have ever removed a radiator line, it is similar but smaller. After years of heat, the rubber sticks to the seal. Be gentle with the pick and try not to put a hole in the boot (although I doubt that a hole would cause much of a problem).
Listen man I am in between of getting bes920xl or bezerra strega I just can't trust breville too much because they break a lot what you think about quality on breville vs bezerra they much cheaper that's why I am waiting
I recommend against the Breville. Mine is just under two years old and parts are starting to break, need replacement. The machine is used frequently and is well maintained. Nothing you can do about cheap internal parts that wear out. In comparison, I had a Francis Francis X5 that worked flawlessly for 13 years before it fried itself.

Not sure if you already figured it out, but I just removed mine. They were slightly stuck to the rim, probably because they melted due to boiling water leaking past.

This video is a serious lifesaver. I need to replace most of my o-rings on my machine. Do you have a size for the larger blue o-ring or did you just use the 007 for the replacements? Thanks!
Thanks every owner will need this video eventually. I found all the o-rings/parts at ereplacementparts.com, I'm not sure of the exact sizes.
Has anyone sourced these parts within the UK? Or have metric sizes in mm? Would appreciate any support, thanks!
@@322816 Thank you. I just did it twice and will repeat few time more then will give a try. will let you posted about the progress.
I've not they don't leak which seems to be the only thing not leaking. This was previously owned I'm happy to send you some pics.
I just replaced the ring on that and it did have the two stacked O-rings as you said it would. Thanks so much for this video. I can't believe I was able to replace mine and didn't have to send the machine off to be fixed for something so simple.
Hi Joe, is this the right part;

O-Ring For Hose Connector
Part Number: SP0001672 for the hose connections. Seems many of the parts are obsolete but I think I finally found this one.
Tom
Hiw many o rings are there?
Blue
How many mm red o ring seals 8mm?
Sadly decided to do the one next to the booted one and wow - I can't get it down far enough to get the clip on :( got it in and it leaked steam :o Tried again - I think fixed.
This is NOT easy folks. The pins are not easy. With the boots - I ended up putting the pin in and sliding the silicone boot over it. What sucked was the tube to the side of the 2 booted ones closer to steam wand side. wow - that made me cry.
Thank you! I would have 100% lost that little washer. I also used only one o ring instead of two on the two water feeds. They were both leaking. Poor design.
Any idea how to remove/open Steam Dial Cover? I am going to replace Ball Valve Complete Kit with a new one. Thank you

Sorry, I've never had to. Keep searching, someone has done it.

Hey joe,
What sizes are the orange o rings ?
007
Listen man I am in between of getting bes920xl or bezerra strega I just can't trust breville too much because they break a lot what you think about quality on breville vs bezerra they much cheaper that's why I am waiting
I recommend against the Breville. Mine is just under two years old and parts are starting to break, need replacement. The machine is used frequently and is well maintained. Nothing you can do about cheap internal parts that wear out. In comparison, I had a Francis Francis X5 that worked flawlessly for 13 years before it fried itself.
Hi Joe, is this the right part; and what is the size?

would a tiny dab of Vaseline allow the different shaped donut O ring to be re inserted more easily?
Use Petro Gel (Mcglaughlin Oil), it's food-safe.
Where do I buy the o- ring?
I bought from ereplacementparts but that was back in 2018.

I see why Italian machines use copper metal tubes... All plastic tubes in the Breville are plagued with issues.

Have you ever had a leak from the interface between the ceramic and the metallic probe itself? ruclips.net/video/YXK-xZpOHNA/видео.html
How do you remove the hose? Mine seems to be glued on and I’m afraid to just pull it hard so not to rip it. Thanks!!
Not sure if you already figured it out, but I just removed mine. They were slightly stuck to the rim, probably because they melted due to boiling water leaking past.
I tried walking the boot up with my fingers, then took pliers with barely any touch/pressure and they came off.
Lisa thanks Lisa, I did something similar. Its working like a charm again
