Can I ask your opinion on what Breville I should use? Thank you! Your video’s are bloody awesome 😊
100% The dual boiler!! I have one in the garage that will probably replace our Oracle. Plus the dual boiler can be upgraded for free with the Slayer mod. 😝 Thanks for tuning in legend.

Hi Mitch, great video. I ordered the Oracle™ and will follow your upgrade with the replacement parts immediately after unpacking. Which bottomless portafilters and filter baskets do you recommend for the Oracle™? Thank you very much for your reply. Best, Philipp
Hi! Thanks so much for tuning in. I'm a big fan of IMS baskets... but I recommend experimenting to find what you prefer. Any bottomless portafilter that fits will be fine, but if you want a nice quality fit, I would use the Pesado 👍
@@mitchdoescoffee Hi Mitch, thank you for your prompt response and recommendations. Is there anything I need to consider when selecting the portafilter or basket filter because the Oracle™ automatically tampers?
@@FOKKFOKK I don't think you need to worry about anything like that... any 58mm portafilter & basket made for this machine should fit exactly that same as a standard one. 👍
@@mitchdoescoffee Perfect, thank you. One more thing: Do I have to try out the size of the basket, depending on taste, bean type, quantity, double/single use, etc. or is there a standard size (for 18-22g -> Sage recommendation?) that you would recommend? IMS, for example, is available in 14, 16, 18 & 20g. My wife drinks latte and I drink Americano or long/normal coffee.
I've not tried the brass ones myself, but I would assume that the brass may add some difference to the flavour & without consistent back flushing you may see more scale build up than you would on the stainless steel.
Hey Mitch, thanks for the walk through, this was excellent - I have a Breville Barista Express. Are there two separate screens to purchase based on your links in the description? I'm not sure what the different between Nanotech and competition is? And is there a link for the upper shower piece (heavy steel)?
The upper shower screen is only for the 58mm. (I forgot to mention that) And the nanotech coating gives you a slightly better extraction & much less cleaning as the coating is hydrophobic. 👌
Hi Mitch, it's Philipp again. I've now installed the upgrade in my Oracle™ from the beginning. I'm a bit surprised that the screw is visible in the puck after the brewing process. In principle, that means that the coffee powder is pressed directly onto the shower. Is that okay or do I need to make other settings, e.g. use fewer grams of coffee?
Hi thank you for video i have bambino plus does this have upper and lower shower screens as i cant seem to locate an upper screen for bambino plus? Thank you
Hey Mitch. Some web said the screw in the IMS shower head protude so that when they use full 18gr in 18gr basket, there is some mark on the espresso. Can u confirm this? i am using puckscreen and i dont want my PS to be dented lol
It depends on a few factors. I haven't had any issue with this happening. A courser grind will take up more space in the basket, so this could be a reason a puck screen will touch the shower.
When you remove the shower head and so on, did you recognize bubbles on the heater unit? And if you install the upper steel showercase, will this not lead to contact corrosion with the aluminium heater head?
I didn't notice any issues when I pulled it apart. Long term, I dare say it could cause some issues if you don't maintain the machine. With only 1 screw holding all of this together, it is very easy to remove and clean occasionally.
@@mitchdoescoffee i was asking about aluminium heater head, is it direct contact with the water/coffee or just heating the shower head but with no contact with the actual water/coffee?
I have an Oracle but despite the boiler temp stating 96c the hot water produced by the shot button comes out at around 80c. Is there a simple way to check if it’s simply a temperature sensor issue or something else? What’s the easy fix?
