For anyone who hasn't yet, I recommend listening to the album from beginning to end. Very thematic with a powerful message. Several songs that have a different sound than traditional Shinedown but yet feel unmistakably Shinedown (if that makes sense lol). I enjoyed all of the songs on the album but I believe this one is definitely going to stand out as my favorite. Thanks for another awesome album.
I totally agree with Cole Baker, you need to listen to the whole album. Missing the announcements between songs loses some of the context. They bring the songs to life, and give you a little more understanding of the message....the world we could very well be headed towards if we follow the lower vibrational path.
Got into Shinedown way back in the Sound of Madness era shortly after being diagnosed with autism as a kid and I've followed them ever since, through middle school, high school, college, hospitalizations, and now a career. This feels like it's written for me after everything I've been through. I'm unashamed to say this made me cry.
I do not have Autism but Combat PTSD and just a general breakdown. I have a problem controlling my emotions like a reasonable person. I first heard the song .45 while in PLDC. I was hooked. Their are several songs that hit hard as a veteran. This one is just a great song for anyone that has something that makes them feel like they are less than normal. I did not cry. LOL But I did tear up and maybe one or two made it to my beard.
Three years ago, I tried to hang myself. The tile I wrapped the rope around broke, so I was going to find something else. But for some reason I found myself pulling up my Pandora instead, and in a completely unrelated playlist, the first song that came on was GET UP. Changed my life, and now I’m still here. They are truly one-of-a-kind.

I am a retired first responder in a big city. It's a given I have PTSD really bad. The last year I have found out that I have always had PTSD and lived in state of survival along with BPD. I get so upset that I am not like most people. None of it was my fault, but a traumatic and neglected childhood. For the first time in over 50 years I'm starting to live myself for I increments. So many of shinedown's songs and Brent Smith's opening up is helping me love the damaged parts. This one especially. I encourage everyone to try therapy. It's amazing to uncover those nasty secrets and heal. If therapy hasn't worked, find another therapist until you find one that is a good fit

Back in 2018, I had friends of mine that I wanted to see Shinedown in concert. At that time, I was a huge Godsmack fan. Found out that Godsmack was coming to my area, and got tickets. Didn't know that Shinedown was supporting until I got my tickets. I was blown away, and have been to 3 more concerts since then!
We're all dysfunctional to a point. Shinedown always hits the feelers n is there when I'm a hot mess or a dancing queen around the house,in the car or anywhere else, I take them with me everywhere! ❤
After 3 battles with cancer, a heart attack and 3 strokes I refuse to give up. No one promised me easy, they said it would be worth all the pain. They were right for once. Life IS worth the pain.
I've been a fan since day one. They still continue to make music that's so relatable. Music that tells us to celebrate ourselves while shattering stigmas that we're conditioned to believe. They not only have my support but my mother's as well. So many memories of driving in my escape with the windows down, Shinedown blaring and the two us of singing our hearts out. ♥️ That you can't put a price on.
My therapist actually suggested I listen to this song. I feel like I can't be my dysfunctional self around others. That my anger and my pettiness and my sadness will make the people who I care about leave me. I have no idea how to let myself out of this shell though of always trying to be kind and nice, because that's still part of who I am. I just. I have no idea how to start with showing the dysfunctional me to people who I'm not even friends or family with, when those people have turned me away for those things before. I have to try though.

This cd has been in my van since I bought it at the fort Wayne Indiana show April 27 2023. It's all I have listened to while driving for damn near a solid year. They have clocked almost 40,000 miles with me. I sing along at the top of my lungs. One would think after 6 months a sane person would of surely moved on. I truly love it that much. Hi I suffered from autism, depression, adhd, and anxiety this song had made me realize I shouldn't hide my imperfections and I hope many more realize the same.
I haven’t enjoyed a Shinedown album this much since Us and Them. This album is meaty, well produced, well thought out and needs to be listened to in order. It took me on a trip I wasn’t expecting and I love it.

She became a physics major honor student and just graduated a couple weeks ago :). Things get better. They will for you too! You made the right decision today! I really hope this is the next single they release… and play it live when I see them in September. It’s somewhere between a ballad and an anthem rock song. “The audience has waited all this time… you’re well rehearsed and know your lines”. You just know they wrote this planning to play it live eventually. Just hoping I don’t have to wait until next year. This entire damn album is so good though… they could play 6 songs from it easily… and it would be one of the best shows you’ve ever seen. This band has peaked. They are just so good… and it’s crazy to think a 7th album is their best so far. But here we are.

This cd has been in my van since I bought it at the fort Wayne Indiana show April 27 2023. It's all I have listened to while driving for damn near a solid year. They have clocked almost 40,000 miles with me. I sing along at the top of my lungs. One would think after 6 months a sane person would of surely moved on. I truly love it that much. THANK YOU FOR A MASTERPIECE.

I haven’t enjoyed a Shinedown album this much since Us and Them. This album is meaty, well produced, well thought out and needs to be listened to in order. It took me on a trip I wasn’t expecting and I love it.

Praise the Lord! Life can be hard. My oldest daughter is functioning autistic, attempted suicide in junior high, failed high school and dropped out. She became a physics major honor student and just graduated a couple weeks ago :). Things get better. They will for you too! You made the right decision today! I really hope this is the next single they release… and play it live when I see them in September. It’s somewhere between a ballad and an anthem rock song. “The audience has waited all this time… you’re well rehearsed and know your lines”. You just know they wrote this planning to play it live eventually. Just hoping I don’t have to wait until next year.
This entire damn album is so good though… they could play 6 songs from it easily… and it would be one of the best shows you’ve ever seen.
