That a great motor Bengie. My friend has a much bigger model on his 25 foot Welcraft. It’s been very reliable. Nice boat. Just got that orange Kayak Autopilot 120 by Old Town. Go CSA.
nice on the 120...I've been eyeing the 136 with auto pilot (or whatever they call the automatic feature to keep it on spot, kinda nice but has to have affect on power...meh, it's a couple years out though)
@@rkw221 No my battery last all day. Autopilot does not drain the battery. I would stick to buying the AP 120. The larger one to heavy. I can also do offshore no problem. Very stable.
Ah Benjie, ...so good to see you evolving as a fisherman. Good luck on the new craft. Your energy is so positive, you will do fine on the new adventure. Tight lines my friend!
Good job on the videos benjie! My best friend and I just got back into fishing, we recently got new baitcaster reels and rods. Doing most of our fishing in the carlsbad area. Would be cool to see you out there sometime or meet up and learn with/more from you!
Hey thanks so much for stopping by and the comment Jedison. That's so awesome man, glad that you and your friend are getting back into it. IMO fishing is one of the healthiest and most positive things we can do for fun. I think Carlsbad is a great fishery, I wish I lived closer! I do make it down there when I can so would be great to run into you some time!
I bought the 430 to take my two kid out. Really stable. But the person in front will get water splashed on their legs so I had my daughter wear rain pants. You might want to get the beach wheels . They are good to use on beach or boat ramp. If you drag on ground you will slowly wear out bottom. I use an electric motor instead of gas motor. I had a 3.5hp tohatsu. It worked well but tired of gasoline smell. When storing the motor at home I left air vent open. The reason was with my shed getting hot the gas vapor expanded and stretched the cap seal if air vent is closed. So, when transporting motor in car lying down gas would leak out cap. I replaced gas tank in motor and started leaving air vent open in shed-no more issues with gas leaking in car
Such good information and experience shared here, thank you so much. Invaluable for me. I actually have the sand trolley from scout but I left it at home that day because I assumed Graham would bring his. Turns out he forgot to bring his too lol! Really good to know about leaving the air vent open, very practical experience here that I would not have known otherwise. Thank you so much!
Hey bro, if you’re gonna get the 440, let me know. I have a code that can give you 10% off. Full disclosure, I also get a small commission but it’s a win win. But either way, I hope you get one, I LOVE my scout!
How awesome is that! The Scout should make an amazing fishing machine! I’m thinking I’ll be seeing you down at La Jolla Shores in the very near future!🎣😃
Thank you Dan, I'm so glad to see you back on the water lately! Hopefully I'll give La Jolla a shot this Summer, but I'm gonna need a lot of practice before that happens. I REALLY don't want to flip! lol!
Oh nice!! Yea, we checked out the breakwall my first time out on this thing. It was slow that day but I'll definitely be fishing there again in the future.
@@BenjieKimFishing yeah! I’m super excited to use it. I’m planning on getting a motor next month, but I’m probably gonna row it around the harbor to fish for spotties in the mean time. I’m honestly new to this whole boat thing too haha. I’m definitely down to fish together once I get the motor 🔥
Hey Benjie, I got a Scout inflatable too. I was impressed with your videos and also went to the Scout demo in Long Beach. My motor comes in in a couple of days, let me know if you want to launch our boats some time. It’s always safer to take out the boat with other people.
Hey Chris, apologies on the late reply but congrats on picking up a scout brotha! I heard someone showed up to the demo day right after I left and I think that must have been you. Bummed to have missed you! Keep in touch brotha, I need to fire up my motor soon and I'm looking forward to putting some good time on the Scout this year in the harbors some open ocean as well!
Congratulations bro!! Glad to to see you happy in your new adventure. I am trying to get there in the future with my fishing experience. My channel is just surf fishing for now. Stay save.
Thank you brotha! I'm still brand new to all this but as of now there are many pros to this thing. The portability is huge for me and my tiny garage lol
Ok. Gotta admit, these now strike my interest. I’ve been tossing around the idea of getting a Hobie pedal drive kayak but bulkiness, weight, and cost has kept me from pursuing it further. I’ve owned a couple inflatable boats in the past and have done a fair amount of fishing from them. This particular boat is designed a little differently in shape it seems. I plan on taking a closer look at them.
My only experience is with Scout, but the portability factor was huge for me cuz of my messy garage lol. Maybe it'll be a good option for ya and then we can fish together! Thanks Steve for everything and wishing you a slay trip in Baja!!
I don't have exact specs, but it fits in my garage really well, my wife doesn't even notice it. I have a bag for the boat and one with all the accessories and it all fits right around my motor cart. I've never physically been in a Forester but my guess is that it would be more than fine. My friend Graham can fit 2 Scouts in his Honda CRV.
Wow Benjie that looks sweet...That’s my fantasy to have something like that but like you scared of the elements. Maybe seeing you do it step by step will instill some confidence in me. I surf and pier fish only. Congrats I’m really happy for you. You look like a kid on Christmas Day Bro! Lol...
Haha thanks so much Andrew! Yea, I really do have limited experience with anything boat related so I have a lot of things to learn. Things that are obvious for many aren't so obvious for me right now, but I'm gonna pay attention and learn....hopefully not the hard way!
Thanks for the tip Mike! Supposedly this thing can be laid on 3 different sides (there are notches to show which sides) without leaking. But idk man, I feel like it might not be fool proof. But your comment gave me the thought that I should probably lay a blanket or some tarp under all my equipment beforehand. Appreciate you man, thanks for the comment!
