6:33 to 8,40. Less refined carbs. Less dairy. Less omega 6 oil (eg sunflower, soy, corn, canola). More omega 3 (cod liver oil has vit A + D too, salmon, other fish). More borage oil (anti-inflammatory, thins sebum, anti-oxidant effect, breaks down the blackhead plug).
My skin was pretty bad, so I choose my skin, but I had to learn to find new foods to enjoy. Now I can say I do not enjoy the refined food I used to love. It doesn't taste anywhere as good as I remember any more.
Back in the 1940's my mom had a bad case of adolescent acne. Grandma took her to a local MD who put her on a diet that consisted of no fried food (broiled, baked, or steamed only), and no sweets. Instructed to eat a wide variety of vegetables and fruits, only one glass of milk per day, one slice of toast per day. She was allowed one plain graham cracker a day for dessert. Her acne cleared within a few weeks. That was the old days when commercial food wasn't as adulterated as it is now, no GMO, preservatives, hormones, antibiotics, etc.
I am going through the same thing..I am 22 now and I had acne ever since I was 13. Been to hundreds of doctors my face is getting worse. From just having acne on nose it has now spread to my chin and cheeks Edit: I was prescribed Accutane and apparently I suffer from Rosacea. Before getting to know this, I tried cutting out dairy but it did not work for me.
@@vedanti2358 if a change of diet won’t work consider accutane. I know I’ll probably get dragged for suggesting it but I was in your shoes for years… it took a toll on my mental health and no diet fixed it. Your blood is monitored every week and the side effects go away after stopping the medication. Idc what anyone says it was the best decision I could’ve made. This natural stuff is great but it’s not always the solution when it comes to acne.
@@vedanti2358 Hi Vedanti, my acne was the result of hormones and stress (from a toxic family), which resulted in poor eating habits, so I was also missing necessary nutrients. All this resulted in an affected gut and wild hormone surges. I took vitamin A, zinc, vitamin D, iron and collagen peptide (missing amino acids). First, I improved my gut health (collagen and Vit. D) and drooping muscle issue (with collagen, Vit. D and iron). Next, vitamin A and zinc improved the skin and muscle tone. Acne stopped. I also felt much better. Plus, intermittent fasting to reduce/remove debris (oxidized/free radical) cells. I keep reading to learn more about the basic building blocks of the body. If you too are interested, please do read "The Miraculous Effects of Vitamin D" by Jeff T. Bowles. Available on Amazon Kindle. (Can read on the phone.) Brilliant book. Also, please read its review section. And please do read about the other vitamins and minerals I mentioned. Thanks.
I did that diet a few years ago, no sugar (only fruits), no dairy, no refined carbs and my adult acne cleared up in less that a month....also I really noticed a change in my overall energy, mood and... body odor ! Even after a long day and working out no nasty armpits smell. That really blew my mind !
@green grass no grass for sure. Still plenty of stuff to eat 😄 lots of veggies, rice, polenta, buckwheat... eggs, fish. Plant based milks. Lots of fruits 🤔 and dark chocolate for fun 😂 food variety was no problem but I had to cook EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME 😖 and I love to eat outside and all types of food so I'm not that strict anymore :)
OMG you’re right! I didn’t even notice that! I don’t stink anymore. I always thought that’s just the way it is. I’m 49z😫. Since I started my diet I notice it as much. ❤
This is the video I needed. I was tired of attending medical appointments where the “professionals” never ask me about my diet and just prescribed me creams or serums that don’t work. I kinda notice that the problem is always coming from my diet and this video has just ensured it. Muchas gracias 😊
Never could afford the luxury of " specialists" and whether or not insurance deems things cosmetic/superficial. Now that we have the " Affordable Care Act ", I still value my health and time, not to mention all our taxpayer dollars more than a bloated " broken healthcare system " (as one emergency room doctor confided ). With the help of honest, non greedy truth, not propaganda, LET'S HEAL !!!
That’s what doctors and this fraudulent medical people study and are taught to recommend. That’s why I don’t trust doctors as they see you as a number and don’t really care.
I had acne my entire life and last year I decided I had enough, I was done! I couldn't take spending so much money on skin products and not having the skin I wanted anymore, so I did some research and found out about what Dr Eric is saying in this video and went radical with the changes. I cut carbs, sugar and dairy all at once. This was before Dr Eric's video, around November last year. I never truly believed that changing my diet would make such a difference. I thought that it would improve but not solve the issue. But I was desperate and willing to do anything to have clear skin. OH BOY, WAS I WRONG! In about 3 months my skin was clear like has never been before ever since I was 10 years old. I am very Happy that dr Eric is spreading the word! And plus I didn't know about Omega 3 and 6 being involved as well, thank you Dr! (I still use special soap and special hydrating cream for oily acne-prone skin that I was already using before changing my diet, but now these products act more as a hygiene routine and wrinkle prevention). I wish my Dermatologists have told me this before! Thank you again, Dr Eric!
Breakfast is coffee with xylitol instead of sugar and omelette with mushrooms, fresh onions and baby tomatoes. Around 10 I get a banana + almond milk (without sugar) + oats + Linseed. Lunch is salad with loads of leafy greens, tomatoes, carrots etc and a protein like fish or chicken. Afternoon I have another coffee/tea and a couple of whole grain cookies without added sugar, and than I try to not have dinner so I usually have just a cup of tea or something like that. When I'm very hungry I boil some vegetables and eat with lemon, olive oil and salt. I need to make it clear that I cut *Refined* sugar and dairy and I try to eat as little as possible the whole grain carbs such as the cookies. I found out that in my case specifically is the insulin spikes from refined carbs such as refined sugar and flour and the pro inflammatory properties from dairy that cause my pimples. So if I have a couple of whole grain cookies is not a problem because they don't cause insulin spikes and I don't seem to have any skin problems due to the cookies. Dairy I did cut of my like completely and every single time I break this rule with a little bit of ice-cream (my weakness), in one or two days I have big inflamed internal pimples on my forehead and smaller inflamed ones on my chin. More recently I have been trying some intermittent fasting routines... I hope I helped.
@@Sarinhajd Great comment! Quick question, did the blackheads just magically disappear from your face without you squeezing them out? thanks in advance.
@@Sarinhajd believe it or not you can eat a little bit of carbs and sugar again as long as you every now and then do a teaspoon of neem powder and a big glass of water which totally kills any of the candida that causes acne and it works very quickly . As for those sugar spikes another all natural thing is Methi powder which is the ground up seed of the fenugreek plant and it helps balance the hormones for men and women alike and helps people with diabetes
@@teddy9234 I'm not a specialist and I always squeezed my pimples and black heads even though I shouldn't. The blackheads in my forehead disappeared. The pimples I squeezed them when they were no longer inflamed. The ones in my chin I squeezed most of them after the shower (pores open) with clean hands. Make sure to clean afterwards with a good cleaning solution that has chlorhexidine for example to prevent spreading bacteria all over your face. I'm not saying that what I did is correct though.
Started getting acne at age 12. Never let up no matter what I tried. Cut out gluten and dairy around age 27, and my acne pretty much instantly decreased in severity by about 95%. Continued to have occasional mild breakouts here and there until I started taking vitamin A every day and using retinol. Now I rarely have any significant acne on my face. If you're an adult dealing with acne, cut out gluten and dairy completely. Your skin will thank you.
acne can be caused by a million things. I discovered at age 33 that my acne was primarily caused by 1. using ANY products above my neck (shampoo, soap, argan oil, organic extra virgin coconut oil etc..), now I only wash my face/hair with 100% water and nothing else. incidentally this also got rid of my permanently irritated/flakey scalp 2. squeezing even the smallest bump Still, cutting gluten and seed oils is probably a good ide anyway :)
You know the system is messed up when you come to RUclips for a Doctors opinion as they are otherwise inaccessible and don't even provide good preventative knowledge regardless. Great work bro there needs to be more out there like you
I totally agree. One doctor told me “…you probably know more about nutrition than I do…” I changed doctors that day. Medical gaslighting is real nowadays🙄 I’m reading the book The Seven Types of Doctors.
Fair point. To cut out all carbs would be very unwise and probably impossible. But I think it is more the refined carbs which are the problem. Unfortunately its nearly impossible to cut these out completely in todays modern world.
My father has been on keto diet and IF to cure his diabetes and I noticed all his black heads are gone and his skin is super clear. His glucose levels are better than ever. So Dr. BERG definitely knows what he is talking about.
Nope. Yes during the transition to keto, your skin and blackheads clear, but after a while after many months, they'll come back with vengeance with uncontrollable blackheads. Watch out.
I've been on no refined carbs, WHOLE FOOD, plant based diet (slow carbs), no seed oil, no dairy diet now for 3 yrs. I USED to have a blackhead/pimple situation, a bit remained even at 60! I have noticed my skin has been so much better, but didn't realize the science behind it - the 'why'. Great explanation and as always Dr Berg...you're spot on! 👏👏👏

So I stopped consuming diary about 2 weeks ago, and haven't had any new acne now past week. Skin is also less oily. Black heads getting loose every time I wash my face. Something is happening, I like where this is going. Thanks Dr. Eric

Even though these restrictions mean removing about 70 % of stuff from my current diet, I look at your skin, Dr. Berg and think to myself it's worth it. I am probably 20 years younger than you, yet your skin glows much more!
Literally! If you have such a prominent health issue, the first thing you should do is this look at this checklist: Am I getting enough red meats? Am I eating enough greens? Am I getting adequate sources of vitamins? If the answer is yes to all, then you should look to lower your sugar and carbohydrate intake. Limit your bread/rice intake and cut out sugary things completely until you understand your body's limits and then you can assign cheat days accordingly. Seriously, white bread and sugar are the single worst things for human health imo. Fucks up your teeth, your liver, your digestive system, unnecessary calories, causes skin problems and makes you tired.
@@headfullofmusic422 red meat is a huge source of iron, zinc, vitamin b12 and protein. You'll have to eat more greens (preferably spinach, so you can also hit 2 birds with one stone with the protein and iron) to compensate for the lost iron. You have to take b-12 supplements since all other sources are pretty poor. Beans, nuts and dairy for zinc (they still provide pretty low zinc percentage, and you'll have to eat a lot of them to get to the level red meat provides, I'd recommend taking zinc supplements too in that case). There are lots of alternatives for protein such as beans, spinach, chicken, fish or eggs so I don't think you should worry too much about that aspect. Conclusion: compensate iron with leafy greens; compensate b-12 with supplements; zinc with supplements, nuts, dairy and beans; protein can be compensated with plenty of other alternatives.
A person told me once to do this: Get a half cup of hot water, dissolve a teaspoon of epsom salts in it. Then get a cotton ball, wet it and rub all over your face; let dry, In a few days, all your blemishes, blkheads, etc, will come to the surface. You can scrub them off with a buff puff or warm wash cloth. it works. In High school I purchases a facial-spinning brush that worked with acne soap so well, my acne went away completely. It worked so well, people who did not like me, asked me what I had done.

@@freeaus3902 When I was young, I noticed that my Acne got much worse in the summer months and would go away during the winter. I read that bacteria grow much faster in warm temperatures. Heat activates the growth of bacteria. Try to avoid heat. For example, Do not stand over a hot stove. Do not wash your face with hot water. I was reading a book called "The Acne Cure" by a Dr. Terry Dubrow. In his book he says to apply an ice pack to the skin. I would apply ice once or twice a day for 2 or 3 minutes. Do not apply ice for so long that the skin swells. He tells why he thinks the Ice treatment works but it doesn't matter why it works, It only matters that it does work. One important thing to remember is the acne you see on your face today was probably growing below the surface of the skin unseen 3 weeks earlier. Therefore you will need to wait 3 weeks to see the result of the Ice treatment.
Organic rose water as well helps to calm the skin and improve the looks of enlarged pores, which might show as a result of constantly cleaning these blackheads with steam machines, like some people do as a therapy in beauty salons. Thanks Dr Berg 😊
I loved this! As a holistic master esthetician of almost 4 decades I teach healthy skin and aging naturally. I am always amazed when my clients come in and their physicians didn’t ask them what their diet is like or what they wash with or do they wear foundation and concealer ( poison for the skin in my opinion) I tell clients all the time you can’t wash blackheads away you have to clean them out properly and actually prevent them. Breaking out does not have to happen and bad skin does not have to happen. Unfortunately in todays world people watch social media or get advice from people that have no practical knowledge of skin and they give advice that is actually very harmful. The moment I take a client off of dairy , sugars or foundation and concealer or simply bad skin care or sunscreen , their skin improves dramatically ( I have Before & After videos that even amaze me) . I loved this Dr B. I hope you didn’t mind my extra skin love. Blessings 🙌🏻🍑🧡Lisa

Dr Berg you truly changed my life with this knowledge and your genuine delivery. I have 2 questions if you could please make 2 separate videos on these - greatly appreciated. After all these videos, not that you’re running out of video ideas, but I’m sure you want to answer sincere questions. #1. Please explain the physiological science behind the “keto forever” concept. (My experience: I did “keto” for about a year. Learned and got better at it. Almost opened a keto kitchen & got your personal coaching cert. Incorporated IF and really soared. Eventually went back to more carb rich diet but quickly learned that my body was still burning fats as a fuel source as well as carbs. I believe I was able to hack my body into now burning 2 fuel sources instead of just the one - now using carbs and fats as fuel sources. And not needing to be in Ketosis to burn fats. Is this a real phenomenon? Or is it just in my head? I really believe it’s true because even after going back to crappy diet (carb rich, “normal” diet) I’m keeping most of the weight off and if I do a fast - I really see big results in weight loss (more than I had during a fast before I did the year of keto. Please addres this or direct me to a video if you already have . #2. Why do you look younger and better looking from 4 years ago? Seriously! I haven’t watched you in about 3 years. 4 years ago is when I learned of the keto lifestyle thru you and watched many videos learning from you. I remembered you being more pasty, oily looking skin, whiter, reddish hair, nerdy. Now fast forward to now and taking into consideration your videos now have a new set up- podcast style I like it, different backdrop, better camera, YOU LOOK DIFFERENT like you have been cloned !! Where’s the real Dr Berg!? Granted one video you have a goatee and your hair appears darker and looks like you have a suntan or maybe wearing camera make up- it makes you look almost like a Chicano! SO WHATS DIFFERNT DR BERG - SPILL THE BEANS- enquiring minds want to know? At first I thought maybe you had been thru a divorce and were back on the market so you did a makeover or something, or maybe gotten veneers and cheek implants , hair implants , but please take the guess work out of it- your fans want to know! I say this with the utmost of respect. This is sincere and not a troll. You are a legend in the keto world and your style of teaching and humor are awesome and helped me to learn a lot . Thanks again! Ryan
If you're short on time, here's the solution discussed in the video: Insulin is the problem (3:58). Carbohydrates trigger its release. Also: dairy, omega 6 fatty acids.
I discovered that my blackheads were caused by hard water. I live in the midwest in a hard water area. When I went to visit my sister in Seattle where the water is naturally soft, my skin cleared up in two days, after a lifetime of struggling with blackheads. The same thing happened when I went to England. Two days with naturally soft water and my skin was clear. I was able to stop using all of my expensive skin care products and just use whatever soap they had in the bathroom.
To soften hard water for washing Not drinking Add 20muleteam borax to your soap i just put a tad on me wash rags,or sponge on top of the soap gives you double the bubbles also, same in laundry

Infact, if I eat something not keto friendly, I can feel it a few hours later in my joints. Im not going back to a standard western diet, ever.

I was so glad you mentioned Borage oil. My daughter had bad cystic back acne and blackheads. After taking Borage oil consistently it cleared up beautifully.
Agree very much with all this. I'm old, 65, but had pretty bad adult acne(seemed to never get out of puberty) and greasy skin. I went keto in 2015 and besides losing about 75lbs, my skin cleared up. Too much almost. Sometimes I kinda know what some black peeps call "Ashy" skin. Only my temples are a little average oily. Besides the cutting carbs, I learned tons about all the fats and fatty acids(and fat vitamins). I totally cut way down on seed oils(almost out) and the key thing here is to REPLACE them with the good oils, Monounsaturated and saturated. These are basically the animal and tree fats, like fish, beef, chicken, lamb, bacon and pork fats(animal fats are roughly 50-50 Saturated and Mono with just a little O-3 and O-6 PUFAs(polyunsaturatedfats), like 5 percent total) and tree fats like olive(mostly Mono), coconut(mostly saturated), other tree nuts, Avocado(mono), High oleic oils bred to have high Monos, not GMO). Besides animal fats, I eat olive and coconut and butter in my morning Chai/blackpepper/tumeric green tea to make it bullet proof. I massively lowered inflammation, zero aches, zero illnesses(got the covid shots but probably didn't need them). On my temples, where my oil glans are a little active, I get these like pure white heads, just oil glands with pure unoxidized sebum. I squeeze them because it still habit, but they are tiny and never inflamed or dark. I think having a lot of polyunsaturatedfats(PUFAs) floating around in your system, from crap junk food and seed oils, is what makes those oil glands oxidize easily as PUFAs are super oxidization prone. PUFA seed oils get rancid super easy, and even do so inside out bodies, and they rancid PUFAs in your body also make the kinds of sticky LDL cholesterol that likes to plate out in our veins and arteries. Note that even fish oils and plant omega 3 has this sensitivity to oxygen and getting rancid so don't go overboard on them, but most def keep the seed oil Omega 6's, like soy and corn and cotton, and regular sunflower oils. Those oils used to be used to make varnish and Paints and even linoleum. The main Omega 6 FA is linolelic acid, hence linoleum, the patent for is from like 1860's. Don't varnish your arteries!!!! Linoleic FA is sadly an essential fat, we can't make it, but the essential amount like like 5 gm per day, a teaspoon. Easy to get enough from its association in small amounts in all those other good fats. This essential part has given cover to the Big Agra and Food and medical and drug industries to not ban them, even if they are almost as bad as transfats.
Every since I went low carb, low sugar (keto*) and my whole face has gotten much softer and no blackheads, no acne so much difference that I stopped wearing foundation altogether, I just wear eye make up like mascara and such. My skin has never looked better, it’s so soft 😊😊😊😊

This is right on the ball!!! As usual with all the advice from Dr Berg!!! Back in the 80s, a young man in his late teens that I knew was advised exactly the same. He not only had developed facial acne, but also big blind pustules that turned red with inflammation on his shoulders and upper back. He was quite good looking and a real hit with young ladies, thus he ended up at the doctor's pretty quick.. Luckily, his Dr told him if he didn't change his diet and stay on his advice, it would not go away. And he had excellent success with it. I'm guessing now that his doctor must have been an "old school" and a very good one...
Your cod liver oil is The truth! Within 2 days of taking it and your kelp I saw and felt a difference on my face. Afterwards I quickly realized that I needed Magnesium and other minerals. I originally took it because my hair was thinning but it answered many more questions. Thank you!
I've had acne for years.... been on keto and it's improved dramatically... BUT ....I do notice if I eat high fat sugar free yoghurt ( allowed on keto ) which I eat to bump up the gut bacteria ....then the acne flares up ....I don't go near omega 6 so it can't be that .. so all this figures out... I firmly believe there is also a stress connection here as that is another trigger... Keith

On the topical side, blackheads can be safely and painlessly removed by the oil cleansing method. Yes, using certain oils to cleanse the skin to break down the hard sebum plug works. The oil also draws out impurities and does not promote acne depending on the oil combinations. Good for aging skin, too.

Again, a few drops of tea tree or lavender or any oil that has benefits for the skin can be added, but is not essential. And, yes, it does work. When my daughter hit puberty, she didn't have too many pimples, but her skin exploded with giant blackheads. I didn't want her skin torn up by trying to remove them, so in desperation, I typed in "remove giant hard blackheads" online and found this method. I tried it on the tiny blackheads on my nose and chin and they seemingly just were wiped away from my face. The recommendation for oils is on different websites, so if you type in "oil cleansing method." you will find more information on what to use and how to use it. Hope this helps!
@@alzorama2876 ahhh thank you so much for the in depth response!! I recently went to get a deep cleansing facial and told her the main issue I have is my black heads on nose and she said they’re more oil filled than black heads I guess.. so I assume this method still works to u clog the pores? The pain from her squeezing them out my nose IS NOTTT WORTH IT. And then the bruising for a few days after wards wasn’t cute so I’m willing to try this and I’m sure it’s quite satisfying !
@@intuitionsbyniko7537 It worked for me. You will find instructions online how to do it, but what I do is gently massage the oil mixture on my face for a minute especially on the blackheads. You can use a facial steamer, but I use a hot washcloth (as hot as I can bear it) and let it lay on my face for a few seconds. I do this four or five times. The last time, I GENTLY rub upward on the areas where the blackheads are. Be gentle because steamed skin is a bit more fragile. I have rubbed too hard and abraded my skin! I will do the hot washcloth a couple more times and gently rub in an upward direction on those areas. The first time I did it, I was amazed how the blackheads just seemed to disappear. The oil is natural in the pores, but what we don't want is the black top. This will clean off the plug on top. You don't have to do it everyday. Just when you feel you need it is probably enough. But do look up the method for yourself so that you get the best benefit from it. I'm in my sixties, so the oil method is good for my aging skin. I wish the best!
Thank you so much for this. My skin has gotten so much worse over the past year and I have added sugars, dairy and carbs to my diet. This is the sign to continue focusing on my health!

Mahalo Dr Berg. I've always been a firm believer of what goes into our bodies will get reflected outside through our skin, body scent, hair, eyes, tongue, etc. From old village Chinese culture, my mother learned much of the old Chinese anecdotal medicine that had been passed down through the generations and they seemed aware of many of the herbs and that particular type of internal medicine causing inflammation and what not. It dawned on me that back in the day, there were no doctors readily available so everyone in the villages learned about health care as much as possible. There's so much to learn and understand between the blend of eastern and western medicine and how they can work together.
Hi Dr Berg am a nurse and learnt a lot from you ! God bless you . Could you please talk about how to prevent fibromatosis and treat naturally ?? Many Thanks 😊

Gotta juice organic vegetables regularly. Do lots of sodium ascorbate powder too. Try a 72 hour water fast this will spike autophagy and hgh massively recycling old unusable or inefficient cells and certainly begin to shrink fibroids.

@@Drberg , Hallo Doc Berg, My daughter 16 years old has lot of acne and acne scars on her back and chest. And sometimes on her face as well. How can we treat and prevent it. Please Help !! Regards and a blessed new year 2023 😊.
Cleanliness is HUGE here. I no longer have black heads because I do the double wash method. First I remove any make up from my eyes etc... using oil. Maybe coconut or olive oil. Then after wiping over my face with a cotton round or wash cloth (gently) I use baby shampoo to wash my eyes (with lids closed of course) then a MILD exfoliant all over my face, followed by a second facial cleansing with a MILD and MOISTURIZING cleanser. I pat dry, apply toner and moisturizer. I do this twice a day about 90% of the time. No more back heads. For women sometimes our hormones keep us greasy on the surface and dirt and oil mix therefore causing blackheads. Whatever you do DO NOT use the pore strips. You will ruin your skin for sure!
Hi Dr. Berg! This video is very helpful for me! I wanted to know if you can make a video about face pores, more focusing on large pores? The beauty myths vs what actually works, the science behind their functions and how to maintain them to keep them clean and "closed". Thank you so much!
@@Drberg Thank you so much! I really hope that he does a video on this, because this advice would really help in clarifying this subject and what actually works to keep the pores "closed". Thanks again!
Among the benefits of borage oil is also resistance to some skin diseases, such as: acne and dermatitis. Reduce skin pigmentation and improve the appearance of scars. Moisturizing the skin. Relief of skin itching.
I started getting painful red pimples all over my face and immediately knew my insulin was high. So I went keto and they cleared out within days. After seeing this video, I noticed I don’t have any blackheads either. All I had to do was stay away from grains. And I already don’t consume omega 6 oils anyway, or much dairy, so those were a plus.
Dear Dr. Berg, thanks for this video. I was wondering, if you advise people to take borrage oil, how do you rate the levels of erucic acid in that oil? I was reading up on the plant and found that people advise against regular consumption of the oil due to the aforementioned acid and its potential effect on health. Thanks!
Dr. Berg and team, I read “somewhere” borage can be hard on the liver if eaten. I was growing it and putting it in my smoothies. Now I don’t use it at all. It’s great to grow though! Beautiful and reseeds if flowers are left to die on plant. Thank you.
We have been cutting out sugar. I'm trying to get my energy back. My husband still eats junk. I'm trying to wean him off the junk, too. I appreciate your information. We both watch your videos.
In some cases there's just no cure. I have comedons all over my face and chest since 14. I tried everything. I was vegan for 3 years. Then I was on fish and dairy for 2 years. My skin only got worse because I was not getting any collagen at all. So I started eating meat again because I was desperate. Went to so many doctors. Started taking vitamin D, iron, omega 3, folic acid etc, now I never drink milk or eat dairy, except cheese, maybe once a week, I run every day for about 5 years. Of course I know all about carbs, I never eat sugar, replaced it with sucralose, I never even use frying pan, I was just hoping there's something new in this video. Of course all this helps, but it's not enough for me. One thing that actually helped is skincare products recommended by my doctor. But still my skin produces a ton of sebum
Imagine if they showed something like this in middle school, how many kids might be spared the verbal/emotional/psychological stress that comes with skin problems 🤔 would probably open a door to exploring deeper into what makes us unique and how to affectively manage issues like this

no mention of krill oil. Can i take borage oil AND COD LIVER OIL? In one of your other videos you were promoting krill oil over cod liver oil. Confused here.
Thank you! I always wondered why these came about around my nose. Can you talk more about worms, parasites, and liver flukes in particular and natural ways to treat them? I have been dealing with gallbladder, bile duct, liver issues because of them. Thank you
Neem is a natural herb and effective against parasites. Thing is parasites will actually hide in different areas of the body when you try to go about killing them. Fortunately they apparently return to the digestive area at some point for reproduction (iirc)..., so you have to stick to a killing method or agent for quite some time to be certain. In my case, some years ago, I took neem for about 2 months then ate 2 cloves of garlic daily, on an empty stomach - 1 in the morning and 1 at night, (garlic and onions are natural anti-parasitics) for about 6 months - perhaps a bit extreme in terms of length of time, but I haven't had a problem since. Neem can be found online in capsule form; quality may vary by supplier. Also it messes with the reproductive cycle of things and thus is something to avoid during pregnancy. One other thing you might take into account is combining your regime with ascorbic acid (vit C) as it will help dissolve the biofilms that some parasites / organisms use to protect themselves, making them easier to target and kill in the body. Lastly my knowledge here is a bit dated by now as I haven't looked into this stuff for a long time.
Get some Diatomaceous Earth food grade. Mix about a spoon in a glass of water. Drink that daily. It removes the internal parasites. Totally harmless yet effective.
How is the Borage oil supposed to be used ??? Orally or topically ? Thank you Dr Berg. Great information. I really enjoy how practical the information is that you share.

I got rid of acne by cutting dairy. I went WFPB and cut oils dramatically and it cleared. I use a bit of avocado oil for cooking and olive oil. I go for sushi once a month because I enjoy it. Great energy, can eat as much as I want, can build muscle but no matter how much I eat I do not get fat. Complex carbs like sweet potatoes are great but avoid the refined ones. For hormones, even non-BPA plastics are bad if heated as they have PBP or equivalent. Use silicone or glass to reheat food. Water treatment plants do not remove OCP for which contents are unchanged when peed out. I use a high-end multiphase carbon filter to clear that out. One more thing, I cannot eat wheat unless organic. Glyphosate can disrupt gut flora and it gives me the same symptoms as celiac.
I just found you on RUclips and love your videos. One of your videos helped me with stomach indigestion, which caused me to cough all of the time. I took copious notes and am now so much better. Thank you … thank you … thank you!
Oh man, I suffer from acne and blackheads (it's not massive or anything but I still hate it and it undermines my self esteem) and now I realize I love eating cereal, oatmeal, bread, potatoes/sweet potatoes and yogurt, those are some staples in my diet. I have been cutting sugar, I avoid any very sweet foods but I guess it's not enough. It pains me a lot but I am going to attempt to stop eating those, or at least reduce my consumption. I'll post an update in a month and see if there's an improvement in case anybody scrolls through the comments and cares for personal experience. I'll still use my differine cream (it's adapalene, a type of retinol) because it also helps and it was mildly expensive so I'll finish the tube at least
This was so interesting! I used to get blackheads my whole life. I exfoliated mostly but nothing helped. It was annoying. Then I found Dr. Berg. This is not an ad 😆 It's true. I changed my eating habits completely. I just realized that I have not had any in I don't know for how long. So I can't say how long it took for me to notice a difference. I am 95% positive I have a picture of my face from before and obviously have one after 🤪

as a diabetic with an unhealthy love of dairy products this makes so much sense. I don't have many issues with ancne but my nose has always been a metropolis for blackheads. I can only imagine having to take unnecessary insulin injections for consuming milk and ice cream has had a major effect on my skin's health.
6:33 to 8,40. Less refined carbs. Less dairy. Less omega 6 oil (eg sunflower, soy, corn, canola). More omega 3 (cod liver oil has vit A + D too, salmon, other fish). More borage oil (anti-inflammatory, thins sebum, anti-oxidant effect, breaks down the blackhead plug).
Thanks

@@fiyahspinnah Except this video is entirely about skincare.
That was the old days when commercial food wasn't as adulterated as it is now, no GMO, preservatives, hormones, antibiotics, etc.
...And doctors were doctors.
I am going through the same thing..I am 22 now and I had acne ever since I was 13. Been to hundreds of doctors my face is getting worse. From just having acne on nose it has now spread to my chin and cheeks
Edit: I was prescribed Accutane and apparently I suffer from Rosacea. Before getting to know this, I tried cutting out dairy but it did not work for me.
@@vedanti2358 if a change of diet won’t work consider accutane.

So what did you eat in a day?

Even though these restrictions mean removing about 70 % of stuff from my current diet, I look at your skin, Dr. Berg and think to myself it's worth it. I am probably 20 years younger than you, yet your skin glows much more!
Literally! If you have such a prominent health issue, the first thing you should do is this look at this checklist:
Am I getting enough red meats?
Am I eating enough greens?
Am I getting adequate sources of vitamins?
If the answer is yes to all, then you should look to lower your sugar and carbohydrate intake. Limit your bread/rice intake and cut out sugary things completely until you understand your body's limits and then you can assign cheat days accordingly.
Seriously, white bread and sugar are the single worst things for human health imo. Fucks up your teeth, your liver, your digestive system, unnecessary calories, causes skin problems and makes you tired.
@@1tubax but what can i do if i dont eat red meat?
Eating healthier won’t just benefit your skin… 😉👍

Hi Lisa what do you advise on the face instead of sunscreen or foundation then? Thanks
@@JJ-jl1ge
Hello 🧡
I recommend sunscreen once your skin is healthy and I only recommend very specific ones with zinc oxide and zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. Sun bum, Elta MD or drmtology physical sunscreen.
As for foundation and concealer your skin doesn’t need it. Let your skin heal and the color and texture will get better. Foundation and concealers age the skin and in my almost 4 decades I see it make the skin very sick. In my videos for example, I don’t wear anything I allow you to see real and tire skin. No filters and no lies. 😉
Does this make sense?

What kind of washes do you recommend?
How do I minimize pores?

Pores are really hair follicles and they get stretched and scarred by acne and blackheads eating away at them. Get your body and skin clean and maintain it.
Apple cider vinegar can help with gut health and I also have clients mix 3/4 Apple cider and a 1/4 water to make a toner to apply to the skin. I have also had my clients wear milk of magnesia ( no flavor) to bed for decades! Anti inflammatory, healing and helps the body to purge toxins through the skin while you sleep and you won’t wake up with break out. I also absolutely believe it is anti aging. 🙌🏻🍑🧡Lisa
Ryan

On the topical side, blackheads can be safely and painlessly removed by the oil cleansing method. Yes, using certain oils to cleanse the skin to break down the hard sebum plug works. The oil also draws out impurities and does not promote acne depending on the oil combinations. Good for aging skin, too.
What oils would you recommend for this?
@@intuitionsbyniko7537 What I use is a ratio for normal skin, which is 1:1 castor oil and extra virgin olive oil. I measure two tablespoons each for my size squeeze bottle. I then add a few drops of tea tree oil for an antiseptic.
I read on different websites other carrier oils can be used, such as, sunflower seed oil or jojoba oil in place of the EVOO. Basically, the base is castor oil, then a carrier oil (EVOO or sunflower seed oil, for example).

Thanks!
Excellent video Dr Berg. Started intermittent fasting and ketogenic diet, and beginning to see results already.
Science is in Keto diet is bad
@@CWOTAD why?
that’s great keep going you’ll think differently too eventually feel like you’re 16 maybe. i do and i’m in my 30s. 5 dress sizes dropped.
@Unknown You need to watch the channel more.
Imagine if they showed something like this in middle school, how many kids might be spared the verbal/emotional/psychological stress that comes with skin problems 🤔 would probably open a door to exploring deeper into what makes us unique and how to affectively manage issues like this
idk why insulin is the main villian of our health, doc eric can you explain in a video why insulin is so bad if its natural process?
when i was at my lowest weight, eating very clean and very small amount - my skin looked the absolute best, my natural b.o was very light and smelled even good, and i was extremely energetic.
What kinda things did u eat?
no mention of krill oil.
Thank you
He has a video about it
Look up Hulda Clark
Diatomaceous earth will fix that.
Using it now and feeling Ah MAY ZING
How is the Borage oil supposed to be used ??? Orally or topically ? Thank you Dr Berg. Great information. I really enjoy how practical the information is that you share.
YOU R A LEGEND DR BERG 🙌🙌
I’m not sure what his blood test looks like but he’s one of the first dr health I seen that looks healthy
Meaning he practice his knowledge and lives it. His skin looks really healthy
Dr Berg, you're an amazing teacher and your videos are always interesting and informative. Thank you.
What a great video Dr. Berg!! We all needed this information today, thanks! ❤
Why are all the food I love are the food that I need to avoid. Wow
I haven't started the video yet, but I am anticipating sugar and fried foods as the biggest causes of it.
ur brains are so used to all those "delicious foods" (which are those junk foods or foods with high sugar/saturated fats. which makes u most of the time prefer those foods than natural healthy balanced foods. i advise u to change ur diet slowly and patiently at a time and search for recipes that suits ur taste so that ur brain will readjust to healthier foods overtime. remember that health is wealth. hope this helps u and other people that reads this! :)

Thank you so much dr berg I have been suffering from blackheads since 2020 I had already given up you’re a life saver !!!!❤️❤️
I just found you on RUclips and love your videos. One of your videos helped me with stomach indigestion, which caused me to cough all of the time. I took copious notes and am now so much better. Thank you … thank you … thank you!
Are you suggesting we cook with borage oil? Or we use it topically? Thanks.
Do not cook with it. It must be a supplement he is saying to take.
Somehow I end up listening to your videos at the right time, without even searching for them!! Thank you 😊
Most welcome!
I am 95% positive I have a picture of my face from before and obviously have one after 🤪
Also, getting enough sleep -- crucial factor (probably more crucial than diet) that doctors love to turn their heads to
Sure but for most people it's highly unreasonable to cut out pretty much everything you eat.
The beard looks so cool on you doc. Anyways, this content was very useful for me Thank you very much for this information
So basicslly i can‘t eat anything
Eggs and meat
yeah try it.. for a few days , try 3 see how you go.. do your own expirement.. then eat once a day.. good day 3 when on to eating once a day, 3 hr window.. kept up for a while.. surprize surprize all problems dissapeded
Yup and now add eczema and psoriasis to this YAYY
I love Grass-Fed Whole Milk 🥛
as a diabetic with an unhealthy love of dairy products this makes so much sense. I don't have many issues with ancne but my nose has always been a metropolis for blackheads. I can only imagine having to take unnecessary insulin injections for consuming milk and ice cream has had a major effect on my skin's health.
