Hypnotic poison EDP is a fragrance I wear as a guy. I really love it.

while 2 sexes are a biological reality, gendering perfumes is entirely sociocultural. it suffices to look at the perfume trends in the past 100 years to discern that what is considered masculine or feminine has been in constant shift. i love reading comments on fragrantica by young women, accustomed to the modern trends of sweet gourmands; when they experience vintage perfumes for the first time they often cannot believe that women wore fragrances such as Bandit or Cabochard. geography also plays a role here. lavender, a staple in the production of french male fragrances, is, for example, considered a female scent in Brasil where 40% of female frags carry the lavender note. it is my impression, as a european living in the US, that americans also percieve lavender as a more female scent (perhaps due to its popularity in aromatherapy, and the popularity of aromatherapy in the lives of many american women).
as a liberated fragrance-loving man, i realized long time ago that western male perfumes (or colognes as they are called by some to avoid the association with women's perfumes) are much more limited in olfactory scope than women's. i wear everything, especially florals: the heart of and biggest inspiration to perfumery.

I had this perfume and wore it once or twice..... but it was so heavy, heady, rich, deep, It did not agree with me. Made me ill...some people can wear it and it's great. I found Opium to be my signature fragrance. So enjoy watching
