It used to be super common to use wood ash to clean anything in the UK. When we used wood fires before coal became readily available. Its so fascinating to me how people use what is available in their area. We should go back to that!! Hella less pollution than plastic
Those pots are gorgeous.
The water tastes heavenly; it is indescribable
I feel like it's bc they have sharp edges, the rough nature makes for good scrubbing. And they're thicker so they hold up
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us every day. It’s extremely peaceful to see how your culture lives. One day I will visit Uganda.
❤
I guess you use sugarcane leaves because it's non-toxic. There are plants that are toxic, and therefore they are not recommended for cleaning the pots.
We also cook in them too
I am so jealous I want fresh sugar cane right now. Btw I loved the voats in the background.
Please if you could show us more around 🙏 the amazing plants and these beautiful views 💛 id love to go there and live like you

Wow!!! SO beautiful! I wish i was there!
Love our cultural practices and ways of life, soooo good!
That water must be so delicious! 😊
OMG when we were kids we'd chew on sugar cane too!
We used this in my country too it keeps the water very cool, like ice water.
❤❤❤❤❤
🥰🥰🥰
OMG I have so long I don’t eat sugar cane! My dad loves eating sugar cane, so every time I see it, it reminds me of him. ❤
Oh sugar cane is an underrated snack
My teeth hurt thinking about it! 😅
@@LindaC616 I know it in the Caribbean growing up. It’s not as hard as it looks, just firm. Your teeth can handle it 😊. Actually if it’s cut into smaller pieces, let’s say with a knife instead of how she bit it off, chewing on it, it feels soft but fibrous. It’s moderately sweet and juicy.
@ellesf1606 lol, the Caribbean was where I've eaten it! 😄 I meant teeth hurting from the sweet! 🙂
@@LindaC616 😆Oh hurting from the sweet. Ok, got it. Ah…you tried in the Caribbean ❤️❤️.

My father used to bring us sugar cane to eat.
Hi Aketch Joy Winnie, I emailed you a few months ago.
😅i hate it when some sugarcane stayed between my teeth... 👍yeah i admire you have strong teeth
After seeing from an earlier video that cow manure is used to cover food prep surfaces, I braced myself thinking cow urine was probably used to clean water jugs. What a relief to discover sugarcane leaves were used!
I hope Uganda gets safer for LGBT people so I can visit
Same here ❤❤❤❤
