    That is a nice looking knife and it seem to do all except striking a fire with a fire steel.

    Try to clean all of that black coating on the firesteel.I think that also might be a reason you didn't manage to lite the birch bark.

    Nice knife but when using a fire steel you should pull the steel upward not push the knife downwards and then it will work much better

      Hi Kevin, I do know that tatic, but I have never seem to make it work for me..... I always seem to split the tinder all over :)

      There is a couple of surplus shops in Sweden where you can buy a pair. Check out rodastjarnan.com or garderoben.se. Most sides are in swedish but you can probably use google translate . Good luck :)
