    This is fucking crazy. JP was my guitar teacher like 10 years ago, and I have one his original cigar guitars.
    I lost contact with him after I left town and it blows my mind to see how big he is now. Fucking awesome.

    Can't believe these guys still aren't famous. Watched them back in 07-08 in Boca in some rat hole bar on US1 next to the train tracks and these guys shook the house

    Saw him and the band last night @ rum boogie club in memphis...awesome!!! He broke the cigar box out and blew the room away!!!!!

    I remember seeing him Jam out with Dave Shelley, Joey Gilmore, and Albert Castilla at a bar i used to bounce at. Good times, Great guy and musician.

    Saw JP at the Thunder Bay Blues Fest, and certainly didn't disappoint…..his capo on the $5 guitar is a ball point pen! WOW

    i was blessed enuff to mix Mr. J.P Soars summer '12, . and lemme tell u. blew me away. . . im carrying the word brother, thnx for showin the light of them there cigar box slide playin friend, to me. myfriend, and fellow muscian, u ripped it all the up n down all the fuck around. keep it alive brother, i sure am.i b at all societies this year mixin F.O.H. and i pray u on the bill. thnx man.

    Saw him this night last week in the Rum Boogie Cafe in Memphis, TN. Still haven't managed to close back my jaw! Was over on a Blues pilgrimage from Ireland and this guy was a highlight.

    Nice but if you like this one you should not forget to check out the original version.
    And it is not the JOHNNY GUITAR WATSON version from 1963 (which is very good) but the doowop song LOVE BANDIT by the CADETS from the 50's. It is almost the same song like Watson's done in early-COASTERS-style.

      Hey bro, most cigar boxes are tuned to a variation of a "G" or "A" tuning. I love these instruments. I was looking at a few just today and a one string hub cap diddly bow.

      69gunnr So far,I've made 4 one string Diddley Bow's,a 2 stringer and a 3 stringer lap style....Great fun to build and play and very addictive.I would encourage anyone to have a go at making one....
