It was a highlight for me! They were such a nice family and it was so great having a chance to spend time with an actual family in their home and eating authentic home-made food. Can't recommend it enough!
I was on Hola Colombia at the time everything finished. I was then supposed to do "The Lost City Trek" (a 4 day hike to the Lost City), followed immediately by "Coast to Canopies" (a 28 day Central America tour). Following that, I technically didn't have anything else booked, but I was intending to do the 21 day "South African Safari" tour and then finish by doing a 35 day hike in Spain (the Camino de Santiago) as kind of a reflection on the whole experience before returning home.
@@CVDL Corey - sorry but I've got another question. I was checking out flights to Split for this trip and looks like every flight from USA is $1500 or more. Any tips for avoiding a $3000 airline bill or is it just a necessary evil
Ouch! Flights are tough... I use Google Flights a lot to try and find the best time of the year to go (you can see how prices change each day/week that you fly out). Once you're IN Europe the flights are generally reasonable, but getting out of the US (or Canada) isn't the cheapest. $1500 is pretty steep though! I try to spend no more than $800 USD for a return flight to/from North America - but that was pre-pandemic. You could try and look at Google Flights and find the cheapest place to fly into Europe (likely a direct flight) spend a couple of days in that city and then find a secondary flight directly to Split. That might be cheaper?
@@CVDL Again that's helpful. I thought of the couple day layover to try to save some cash but after hotels it doesn't do much. I'm glad you mentioned $800 was your cutoff because I've been trying to decide where mine was. I think I'm just going to hold off and see if I have better luck another year. Thanks, you're the best!
@@jackdulouz5073 Hi I am Bosnian living in the USA If you are still interesting to visit Croatia and Bosnia usually round trip ticket is between 1100 to 1500 per person I can give you some contacts for tickets
love your videos! when did you go on the Croatia Sail boat trip? trying to pick what month is best to do it, i want an older kinda crowd not all 18 year olds
I was on Croatia Sail in July 2019! It gets SUPER busy during July because Yacht Week also happens that month, but it's also the nicest time of year to go. My sail trip was probably an average age of mid-twenties?
So cool that you went for dinner and coffee with that nice family in Sarajevo, and happy you liked Bosnian cevapi :)

its good to see you uploading again. since the trip was cut short, what trips were cut from the odyssey?

Great video as always Corey! Would you mind telling me what month you went or what the best month to book this trip would be?
Thanks Jack! This was filmed in July. I think anywhere between June - August would be absolutely stunning and a great time to go!
