Most of us would come to the conclusion that if he had control of that gun he would have used it to get out of the situation. If not he could have gone along and had his day in court.

      Cop should do better about being aware of his surroundings. He wouldn’t have hurt himself. And he almost got his head blew off. All due to the lack of awareness. Cop’s own fault not the suspect’s. He gave the cop a sincere apology and the cop acted bitter as if the cop himself had nothing at all to do with the injury. That’s insane, he’s injured so blaming anyone else is ludicrous.

      You've never done this job, have you? There's a benefit to not only the situation but to Officers to put the brakes on and slow down, decompress. It eliminates tunnel vision, which increases Officer Safety and helps prevent emotional response by Officers that can lead to lawsuits and/or criminal charges. I understand your position but please accept there is purpose behind it.
