When a company bans the use of the word "ethics," I'd think that'd be a big red flag to put as much distance as possible from said company.
At this point I'm starting to wonder if even Amazon realizes they're too big and are trying to sabotage themselves. You know, shed a few customers so things aren't as hectic all the time. Too bad that the system has become self-sustaining at this point. We would all _like_ to stop using Amazon but there's simply no alternatives for most of us.
To censor free speech too…what is this communist China?
That red flag better be big enough so they can see it from the moon. There's no warning sign greater than a corporation treating "ethics" like it's a dirty word.

I worked at an ACA (Affordable Care Act) call center when it first opened, and helped so many people who'd NEVER had health insurance! Had to explain basics like co-pays and referrals and deductibles, but I also had the great honor of explaining that no, they wouldn't have to pay the entire bill, that they'd have a medical visit for themselves for $25 as an example, and many children had appointments at no charge. Many were in utter disbelief that they would be able to go to a doctor for a checkup, not have to wait to go to an ER because they were so sick they were desperate, and many were able to visit dentists and receive eye care as well. Yes, some regions had high premiums due to having few insurance companies who serviced the area and no competition, but so many of our working poor who make too much money for medicaid but not enough to afford insurance are actually covered now. What an absolute blessing for so many people!
Now on to single payer.

As a Canadian, I still don’t understand why Americans don’t want universal health care. Why do you want to take on insurance company as individual while you have collective power of the US government. Why don’t you pull all the resources together and pay into it while you are healthy, so you don’t have to worry about the medical bill when you are sick.
It cracks me up tRump could have put his name on the vaccine like that, the Trump Vaccine and it would have saved lives. Repubs repeatedly tried to kill Obamacare and thanks to people like you folk got to experience healthcare for the first time and Americans changed their minds and deemed it good. ⭐

Blunt’s B. S. reminds me of the GOP’s actions with the infrastructure bill. They voted against it, and after it passed anyway, went back to their home states to tell their people all the great things they were going to get.
I may be punitive, but the states whose representatives voted against infrastructure bill should receive zero funds from bill passing.
@@jasonarthurs3885 This can be constructed in a way that's not punitive. Calculate the cost of enacting the bill in all those other places as a percentage of the federal budget. Do it in those places, while they get a tax rebate in proportion to their contribution to that budget (think "you don't get the benefit, but you don't have to shoulder the cost"). That's fair - and as it happens it will still mean they get relatively jack shit.
The only reason the GOP refused to vote is for the line items. Just like our COVID relief bill that sent more money overseas than to us citizens. Like what Russia is claiming in Ukraine about our biolabs. Turns out they were on all DoD line items per Sen Rubio. The GOP is still begging the DNC to stop blitzkrieging them. They just gave reps 45 minutes to read 1700 pages. All democrats voted yes, not knowing what they said yes to. With the United Nations asking questions and our dollar about to collapse, we can't keep overlooking these things. Fiscal responsibility isn't BS.

We could easily break up into 6-7 nations and be best buddies without being forced to live under the same roof and have a shared trade, currency, and a military alligence stronger than NATO. That's exactly how that conversation would go. There would be no reason to stick together anymore. Succession percentages are way up all over the US with the violent crime increase and fentanyl overdoses.

For anyone curious, Disney World has self-governing status like a city would because Walt Disney originally bought that land in the 60's to build a utopian planned community. But then he died immediately, so they just built Bigger Disneyland instead. But the governmental status stayed because nobody bothered to challenge it

I think the main problem with politics is that many who go into it are lawyers. It’s one thing to know the law, but another to use it to find loop holes and workarounds to avoid being held accountable, or to skirt justice. Being rich also helps grease the wheels of finding politicians and lawyers who will get you out of a jam, even if true justice would mean serving time or being financially responsible for your actions.
