  • Lets check out the all new 2022 Toyota GR 86! This is an affordable fun to drive sportscar and has major updates from the original Scion FRS and previous generation Toyota 86. So is the new GR86 any better? This new 2022 Toyota GR86 to my surprise was a lot of fun to drive! The new 2.4L Boxer engine packs about 30 more HP and torque compared to the 2.0L Boxer in the previous 86 and it makes a difference. Still a slow car, but now it has enough pep to get up to speed and feel balanced. I really liked how it drives. THe manual transmission is great and very notchy, super easy to shift and good clutch feedback. I really had a blast driving around in the new 2022 Toyota GR86. The interior of this premium GR86 was super nice too! The leather and micro suede along the seats, doors and dash made it feel like something special. Very impressed with how much nicer this GR86 feels and just how fun of a car it is. Great option for a sportscar on a budget!

    I got this car yesterday, premium in Raven Black. The pictures and videos do not do it justice, it looks better than I expected it to be (and I already thought it would look pretty good). I had some hesitation because of the perceived "tiny" stature of the car from vids ive seen...but I wasted my energy being concerned about that. Yes its a smaller car, but it has a presence about it that makes it stick out in a very good way. And yes, if you can get the spoiler...get it, looks really good on this car. The interior is also nicer than I thought. Only things so far I wish were different are the high catch point on the clutch, and the turn signal indicator not sticking, both take a minute to get adjusted to but eventually you'll figure it out.

    I love this car. I was excited when the GR Corolla came out. I started calling dealers desperately trying to put a deposit on one. When I was denied, I started cross shopping and actually landed on a 2008 Porsche 911. Never even considered the GR86….. until I drove one. Not fast? Please, the GR86 is QUICK. The engine is 100% underrated by Toyota. Pared to the light weight chassis and it’s a win win. I used to have a 2008 TSX. That thing made 205 hp and weighed a whopping 3,300 lbs. the GR86 with 228 underrated ponies and 500 lbs put a HUGE grin on my face.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  2 года назад

      Depends on what you’re used too. But a car doing 0-60 in 6+ seconds just isn’t fast. Lol 4 second is quick. But under 3 is what I’m used to with me GTR. This is a fun peppy affordable entry level sportscar. Great little option!

    • @Soh90
      @Soh90 2 года назад +3

      @@BrosFOURRSpeed For me it’s the feel. When I drove the 86 it felt quick. It feels light on its feet. I’ve had some quick cars too. My current 2 DD’s are a 2021 Tesla Model Y and a 2019 AWD MAZDA3. Obviously one of those is really quick, and the other one…..Is a Mazda lol. But I’m a firm believer of slow car fast, and the 86 is the perfect embodiment of that. But what’s great is that it’s not actually slow. Not like how the TSX was slow until v-Tec. Or how the Mazda falls on its face past 60mph. The 86 gets out of its own way, AND pulls to redline. I’m in love lol. Whether is the GR Corolla, or GR86, the Mazda days are numbered…

      @BrosFOURRSpeed  2 года назад

      @@ACommenterOnRUclips then why are you stating such an obvious point? Of course you can break speed limits in this car. Duh 😅
      Like I said, a car like this you’re just not going to be able to go crazy and speed, compared to fast cars. When I take my GTR to the mountains I can come out of a turn at 30mph punch it to 90mph, then the next turn slow back down to 30 and do that the whole road. A car like this, coming out of the same turn at 30, you might hit 50 in the same timeframe the fast car hit 90. You can hit higher speeds in less time and shorter distance in a fast car. So cars like this when on twisty roads, you just never get enough road to hit those ‘law breaking’ speeds. Don’t you get it? Anyone can take any car on the highway and break the law. My comment takes a bit more thinking skills.
