    It wasn't so bad once you went numb! 🤣The whole setup worked great, tractor performed really well. We got another 6" the next day and I really ramped up my efficiency with the blower. Cleared this same area is 25 minutes. Which, was 1,200 ft in length. I like your setup. I find the rear blower you pull very intriguing and, IMHO, you have the perfect place to use it with the long stretches of your driveway. I picked up a new tractor late spring with the R14s and like them a lot, but if I find the ice under the snow I find myself missing the chains I had on the turf tires from my old rig.
    I used to snowmobile so I make good use of the balaclava face mask I used to wear riding. Did this when I used to blow true snow and still do it when it is really cold even though I use a pusher now. I wear simple ear muffs now to protect my ears from cold and noise (stinks that I’m losing my hearing in my early 50s) and so I can listen to my books while clearing snow. Enjoy. Clearing snow with my tractor is one of my favorite things to do.

  • @williamevans7326
    @williamevans7326 Год назад +2

    Love the views of your new place, very nice.
    In regard to 3 point blowers facing forward or to the rear, snow depth and your tractors ground clearance plays a big part. I agree being able to drive forward is very nice but the tractor needs the clearance to do so. The strong point of a rear facing blower, as well as front mounts, is you can chip away at a deep snow while keeping your tractor on a cleared surface. Not saying forward facing is bad, but you might need to clear more often during deep snow events and in high drift areas depending on your tractor's frame size.

    I thought it was kinda funny on the timing of your rear blade video. That's exactly what I did on my first couple snow falls when there wasn't enough for the plow or snow blower. Not to mention just being too warm for the gravel driveway. My rear blade at the time was the only took I had so I spun it around and just looped and packed the snow down. Once it froze up it left a perfect base to drive on, it also really helps with smoothing out your tire tracks and ruts and the end of the day.
    I now fortunately have a straight blade for my front quick hitch to go with my blower, I actually find switching that off and putting my FEL back on to be fairly slick, but that's due to the BX system. Definitely going to need a snow bucket though.

  • @samhklm
    @samhklm Год назад +1

    Nice new tractor. Nice to see more competition in this market. The snow blower in the rear - not such a good idea. They are slow and a good snowblade will be much more useful especially for your long drive and large garage pad. With a blade you can use the tractor at a higher speed AND use a wider snow blade which equals a faster finish. If you really need a blower then buy something dedicated. (You know who you are and why you need it) With the proliferation of skid steers (and attachments for them) in the last 20 years it seems that manufacturers think a tractor with a PTO is a candidate for a skid steer type attachment. I disagree with this - small tractors are popular now, but I would resist the urge to buy PTO attachments other than few type of mowing and brush attachments.

  • @robertlarrabee9115
    @robertlarrabee9115 Год назад

    Hear you about loader/front mounted blower swap over in the winter. A possible solution but not cheap is a quick attach front mounted blower from Bercomac. It has its own engine so no pto hookup. Just release the levers, disconnect the electrics and reinstall the bucket. Wet heavy snow that has been driven over is not easy to deal with and I find that eventually I’ll have to apply snow melt because even with down pressure on the blower it doesn’t want to relinquish its hold on the ground.

  • @stevenmillard5115
    @stevenmillard5115 Год назад

    Nice! Standing by for your attempt with the rake. Have done the flipped rear blade thing but didn't like the snow layer left behind, maybe more down pressure... my 1/2 mile drive and 2 miles of CR I plow, we have been forsaken by the County, are all dirt and gravel along with several neighbors I keep clear as well, so no pusher or blower in my future. And, usually our snow packs fast and the becomes a sheet of ice that in the mountains is problematic, so have to carefully scape to just top of dirt/gravel. Betting your old neighbors are missing you big time this winter???

    GREAT video, The Summit tractor is a great tractor, try this next time to see if it works better, at the ends of the buildings use the loader and blower together, when you leave hard surface you should only be using the loader, you had a lot of snow going thru that blower, and it did a very nice job, On driveway markers try putting your empty soda bottles 🍼 on top to see them better 😉 👍... landscaping rake may did to be modified with a angle iron from one end to the other.... but it should work also...... more video to show..... til then... 😊👍✌🤞🙏🙏

    I know you sell tractor parts and probably don’t want to hear this, but I have a long driveway like yours, only much more elevation change, and some large open areas and a pickup truck with a plow is the best solution by far. I have an 8’ wide blade and can clear my 1800’ driveway in less than 10 minutes with two passes unless the snow is 2’ or deeper and needs two more passes to push the windrows back. And for a parking lot area, such as at my church, it is 3-4 times faster than a tractor. I am looking at a tractor to haul firewood with and for the front bucket, but for snow removal, I will stick with my Chevy 2500 with 8’ Western poly plow. And I can plow in a nice warm cab with music and coffee. 😂
