They do work good . Had a friend that put quickattach wings on his hydraulic blade . Best of both worlds . They snapped on too back of blade when not needed. Good video 👍
You weren't kidding about the momentum -- being able to run 45 MPH really got the job done quickly! (just kidding: 2x-4x video speed up). I graded snow with rear blade on church driveway yesterday -- first pass came up with 500 LB of loose gravel. Ooops! -- had to smooth it back it out. I think I'll recommend the pusher box to a friend who works at a nursing home and has a large parking lot to clear off. Great Video!
Gotta say, surprised that you guys only got that much snow. Up here by Mercer we got right around that 12"Mark that they were calling for. Really like the idea of that Pusher box, currently just use the loader bucket on my tractor. I think a Pusher would be more convenient. Thanks for another great video.
We plow Walmart and the plaza next to Walmart (one giant parking lot). We have push boxes for our backhoe and skid loader. The push boxes make the money, trucks with plows and the side by side get the snow away from cars and the building and just keep feeding the push boxes to move the snow down through the parking lot and stack it up

Like you I was disappointed in the forecast. We were supposed to get 8-12 inches and it rained all day.(north of Columbus Oh) About 10pm it finally turned to snow accumulating to around 4-5 inches by Sunday morning. I have a John Deere 1023E with a loader and edgetamers. I plowed around 2000' of gravel drive and they did a great job of removing snow and leaving the gravel. My rear blade is a 6' Ford blade from the '50's.(I think it weighs more than the tractor) It works ok, but the blade is better. Hopefully the next storm will bring us even more snow. Happy plowing...
Thanks for these. Just bought a small house on 3.5 acres in NW Montana and trying to decide what I need for the property, fairly long switch-back, inclined driveway. Truck, tractor, RTV etc., So far we've been lucky this winter with low level snowfalls.
It seems like it is just a big bucket. Only you can't lift the snow. Maybe like you said a flat paved parking area. A blade for driveway and roads is much better. Good demo! Keep playing with those toys to let us know what works!
Tractor Time with Tim did a video on his pusher box the other day. He had an option where he could curl it and the blade on the top could get right up to the house and drag the snow away.
IMHO seems to work well enough but doesn't seem efficient. If you had a snow blower on; you'd be moving snow on each pass up and down and probably would have been done in have the passes. Looks like this is the better method for the heavy wet stuff that doesn't blow well. I definitely appreciate all the videos you do since it provides experience that I would not have otherwise. I'm impressed by Sherman pushing all that snow. I think the pusher box puts more of a strain on the tractor than a plow or a scraper blade plus it takes more time to remove the snow. For driveways i think the plow or a scraper blade works the best. A good video. We got 4.5" here in Indiana.
All we got on the far eastern side of Canada yesterday were temps. well about freezing, at about 51 F, high winds and just over a half inch of rain, so we can't have 'fun' out plowing today. Strange weather patterns this winter, for sure!
Not much snow in southwest Ohio either but it's cold. Cleard my driveway Sunday night it's just a little over 2,250 feet long. I have a vent track with a snow blower, vent tracks are great utility machines and they have many attachments available. Stay warm and stay dry.

i have a 12ft blade for my tractor... watching the size of that driveway i would love to use it there, just windrow position, and blow the end. but he is having a blast!
Maybe you should start forecasting the weather. Seems like you were more accurate then the actual forecast! I had to travel out of town for work so I'm glad they were wrong because I didn't want my daughter and wife to have to deal with it. Although I'm sure they could handle it. Thanks for sharing. Not sold on the pusher box for long driveways. I like a snow plow better myself. My Ranger 6x6 with a 72" snowplow blade does a great job plowing snow. In some cases better than my Brother in Laws Ram 2500. I thing my perfect snow removal setup is a enclosed tractor with a snowplow on the front and a blower on the back. But I live in the Lake Erie snow belt and average 150" or more of snow a year.
I got to say, the more I see the RK24 in action, the more I am impressed by it! For the past couple of years, I have plowed our gravel driveway with my Polaris Ranger. It does OK, but you do have to be careful, so as not to scoop up sections of gravel. I got my tractor a couple of months ago and I just ordered a set of Edge Tamers for the bucket. I am hoping they will do a better and easier job of plowing my driveway.
I had a Kubota 24 horsepower tractor with hydrostatic drive, a front loader & a backhoe in the 80,s. I used the separate brake pedals on the rear wheels to steer with when the front wheels would slide sideways.
Auto-Throttle is ridiculously effective. I can't imaging my RuKi not having it. :) Float doesn't float so well on mine either. Still need to load my tires with fluid, might help a bit, and I am considering attaching some weights to my bumper/front end somehow.
That little tractor did extremely well . I didn’t think it had enough weight to it . No tire chains I didn’t think it would push those piles I saw acouple stearin issues but all in all nice little set up!!

Hey Mike, liked the video! That’s the first time I’ve ever seen a pusher box at work. I bet it would take some getting used to for sure. After using the snow plow all these years and now that I no longer need a plow, I guess you know what my choice would be. Nice I used one that was like 14ft on a rubber tire loader. A lot of benefits if you want to move the snow. your right though. the plow would have had that driveway done quicker. But that box works great in open areas. love following along your adventures. one question, you are alone alot and narrating. Do you catch your self still narrating when the cameras are off HA HA because I'm sure I talk to myself. I use a pusher for the front and a rear angled scraper blade for the rear and am very efficient at moving snow for long stretches with the rear blade, and piling stuff up high with the pusher. I often wonder if a utv with a plow setup would be a better way to go. You are about a half a step away of comparing the two setups.
Thankfully it missed us too. LOL. Seems like the only ones benefitting from this storm that missed us was Walmart's. Wonder if they pay the Meteorologists. I hahaha
i try to not make piles at intersections so vehicles can see over the snow. If you ever find ur bucket pushing front wheels off ground put it in float mode. that will help
Nice video Mike. Unfortunately RK didn't include the quick attach on the FEL until a month after I bought mine in July 2018. They say $2500 to convert over to the quick attach now. So I use my landscape box on my RK24 and NH TC33D. Angle the back scraper blade up slightly above the side runners and works basically the same as the pusher blade. Plus I have the FEL to move the piles of snow when needed. And more uses for the landscape box during the other seasons. Just sayin' - $$$$ saved.
@RK Tractor Guy That's great news!. Is it a kit specific to the RK24 (remove the pins and current bucket and put the pins in the quick attach and then attach the new bucket? Or is it a cutting torch and welder DIY kit?) Is it a complete kit or do I order multiple parts? or Do you know the SKU? It will make it easier to get the right answer next time I talk to RK.

Just got the official word from my township and we got 17.6 inches which was a few more then I thought. It put my side by side to the test with the drifts being pretty deep.
I have to agree with your last post. Those boxes are for parking lots and a lot wider boxes. You may have made half a dozen too many passes on that drive because you couldn't direct the snow.
Good vid . Long skinny driveway would be a lot better with the plow though. Also a tip is to always push snow to the right side of the driveway that way u dont get a huge bank covering up the traffic that u need to see, if its on the right u can see better to get out. Also though u may not have this problem where you live but up here in Canada the road plow will push it back in ur driveway, if its on the right it will be the next guy's problem lol. I live on a secondary rural road so the plow only comes after the driveway is done hahaha.
We got 27”....I had a busy morning, took the snow pusher off, then my loader and put the Schulte front mount snowblower. Just did my long farm road and in front of barns. The 9 degree temps setting up blower zapped my energy. I really like your Polaris set up, I have a Polaris Ranger and have considered buying a plow. How well does yours work, especially on gravel roads?
Mike - can you discuss or demonstrate the pros and cons (or good/bad applications) of a rear scraper blade, vs front bucket, vs the plow on the Polaris Ranger, vs a plow blade on the FEL of the tractor for snow removal? I have a L3200 with 72” bucket FEL and 15” x 72” rear blade. It works OK but I’m wondering if a plow blade on the Ranger or a big one quick attached on the FEL would be worth the cost. Thanks!
Normally I find that I agree with you on most things but not this one so much. I can see this thing being useful at times maybe in small areas or cumbersome spots but on long drives I can't see how it could possibly outperform a regular blade. You can only put so much in that box before it starts spilling over the sides and then you have to go back over it and get the small rows left behind. Just my opinion...
Did you miss the times I said I would normally use a plow for roads bit just wanted to try it out. Also for parking lots the pusher box is way better than a plow. It "carries" way more snow than a plow,
seems they put skid steer quick disconnect on the back of a box blade, doesn't seem as efficient as a typical plow. but what do I know we have hurricanes here in south La.
I know you'd want the hoe on the back to aid in the traction of the rear tires but you should consider trying the pusher without it. Removing it should hopefully give some weight back to the front of the machine to aid in steering and possibly allow you to use the float function. I recently removed my box blade and I am noticing improved steering when using my loader with edge tamers. I still need to lift the bucket occasionally but not nearly as often.
I know this is an old video but leaving my two cents. Instead of making those 1/4 mile pushes (the pusher box fills up then just pushes the snow out the sides and you need more pushes to clean that up) why not make shorter pushes off to the sides of driveway..
Sure beats shoveling doesn't it? Great video! Just from my experience this weekend (go look at my last video) I would go out on a limb to say that the turf tires (like my tractor has) would have helped you hold a straight line. Of course I wasn't using a push box or pushing as much, as far as you, so I could be wrong. I would also bet that the snow type (wet or powder) and ice make a difference also. Either way I just wanted to say another great video and keep em coming.
Looking like you need a bit more tractor to push and stack piles otherwise not too bad bu with a plow you could do it much faster boxes work great on large lots thats about it
With no trip mechanism they aren't dummy proof, lol. No moving parts is a great thing but catching any hidden obstacles under the snow will HURT. Don't ask how I know 😂
I think a set of shoes for my loader bucket would be as good, and one less bit, to find a place to store. A plow blade with hydro to turn it side to side, and of course, with plow shoes for my gravel drive, even better. Pusher box? Just not much game with that thing.
I know this is a old video but I have been looking to get something for snow. Do you feel if you had a plow on the front you could have done that faster with less passes. Seems the box fills up and it all goes off the edges. Where a plow you move it to the side.
Float on blade attachments works much nicer . Loader float system on most tractors is too stiff causing lost of steering . Cylinders on float pushing oil back and forth is not quick enough .

Now I am really confused, just bought a BX2380 with a loader no backhoe, salesman says better to put box scraper or blade on front like you have here so you can drive forward to see and don’t have to turn around to push snow and yet you still turn around to back up driveway. However I took the cheaper yay out n got the rear box scraper, hope did not make a mistake, however looks same to me except I can scrap both ways plus can use loader at end of driveway as well. What are your thoughts? Oh plus for heavy deeper snow also got a snowblower attachment but for the rear same reason half the cost, full drive is 600 ft long.
Have you thought of doing a plowing comparison between your side by side and the RK24? I’d be very interested in your thoughts as I currently plow with an atv and am thinking of moving into the compact market
They really need to start putting float on these smaller tractors. It would work so much better if you could put the front loader in float mode so it follows terrain without taking weight off the wheels.
You mention down pressure. Why don't you use it in float when worried about going to deep? & would the same apply when using buckets? Sorry if this is dumb question, I'm new to plowing with tractors. P.S. If you want snow, we have more than enough in NE Ohio ;) lol Thanks for sharing :)
Think it would depend on what you want. The snow pusher is nice because you can use the loader to lift the snow up higher if needed. One feature I liked about the snow pusher is that and the one tractor time with tim was using where you can curl and get right up to a garage door and back drag the snow. But overall, I would still want a regular 60" plow I think. Can angle it and I think it would be easier on the tractor as the snow curls off the plow easier and cleaner with keeping the snow off to the angled side. With a snow pusher and a lot of snow the snow comes around the sides as seen in the video and isn't as clean I don't think. A snowblower to me just isn't as fun and you usually have to go too slow for my liking. I would do a standard plow first if it was me, but the snow pusher is tempting for pushing it high. One advantage to using the snow pusher over the bucket on the front end loader is not having to curl the bucket to get rid of the snow. The snow pusher you just push and lift.
I've been looking at the RK24 with loader & pusher box for snow removal. Would you recommend the RK24 tractor? I have a 3 acre property in the hill towns of Albany,NY @ 1275' above sealevel. I have a 10' x 240' paved driveway, 12' x 340' shale driveway to my barn, 12' x 350' shale driveway to my pond that require winter snow & ice & spring shale maintenance. I also need to remove downed trees & collect firewood. Also future grading of .5 acre lawn and install 3' x 35 paver sidewalk. Move around the property from the barn my snowmobile 6' x 8' trailer, 4' x 4' utility trailer.
Hey Mike not sure if the rk 24 has two break pedals or not but if your on a machine that does unlock the pedals and you steer left or right with each break. So when you have to much down pressure with the bucket and the front tires have no steer power that's when you use the individual break pedals. Next for doing your driveways would you rather use a plow on the tractor or the pusher? Looking to get one or the other for myself
I agree with you Shaun. I run a 7' snow pusher on a 2WD tractor and that is mainly how I steer the tractor. Even in float, the weigh of the snow pushing against the FEL's high pivot point is enough to lift the front wheels.
Yea, no lights. Did you remove them? With my JD 2305, the flashers do not work of I turn on my aux. Lights. I bought 2 small round amber lights (eBay) that I put on top of ROPS. Battery powered, work great. Like to have people notice me.

We made one. Ya they are easy to use. We use ours for pulling (Pull box blade) and it works great.

Where I live in NH they were predicting 12 to 20 and we got around 6 before it changed to sleet. It’s now about 2 degrees

Plus I have the FEL to move the piles of snow when needed. And more uses for the landscape box during the other seasons. Just sayin' - $$$$ saved.
@RK Tractor Guy That's great news!. Is it a kit specific to the RK24 (remove the pins and current bucket and put the pins in the quick attach and then attach the new bucket? Or is it a cutting torch and welder DIY kit?) Is it a complete kit or do I order multiple parts? or Do you know the SKU? It will make it easier to get the right answer next time I talk to RK.

Just got the official word from my township and we got 17.6 inches which was a few more then I thought. It put my side by side to the test with the drifts being pretty deep.

I have to agree with your last post. Those boxes are for parking lots and a lot wider boxes. You may have made half a dozen too many passes on that drive because you couldn't direct the snow.

Good vid . Long skinny driveway would be a lot better with the plow though. Also a tip is to always push snow to the right side of the driveway that way u dont get a huge bank covering up the traffic that u need to see, if its on the right u can see better to get out. Also though u may not have this problem where you live but up here in Canada the road plow will push it back in ur driveway, if its on the right it will be the next guy's problem lol. I live on a secondary rural road so the plow only comes after the driveway is done hahaha.

We got 27”....I had a busy morning, took the snow pusher off, then my loader and put the Schulte front mount snowblower. Just did my long farm road and in front of barns. The 9 degree temps setting up blower zapped my energy. I really like your Polaris set up, I have a Polaris Ranger and have considered buying a plow. How well does yours work, especially on gravel roads?
Mike - can you discuss or demonstrate the pros and cons (or good/bad applications) of a rear scraper blade, vs front bucket, vs the plow on the Polaris Ranger, vs a plow blade on the FEL of the tractor for snow removal? I have a L3200 with 72” bucket FEL and 15” x 72” rear blade. It works OK but I’m wondering if a plow blade on the Ranger or a big one quick attached on the FEL would be worth the cost. Thanks!

Normally I find that I agree with you on most things but not this one so much. I can see this thing being useful at times maybe in small areas or cumbersome spots but on long drives I can't see how it could possibly outperform a regular blade. You can only put so much in that box before it starts spilling over the sides and then you have to go back over it and get the small rows left behind. Just my opinion...
Did you miss the times I said I would normally use a plow for roads bit just wanted to try it out. Also for parking lots the pusher box is way better than a plow. It "carries" way more snow than a plow,
I would think a snow blower might be a good investment! Another toy to play with 😂
seems they put skid steer quick disconnect on the back of a box blade, doesn't seem as efficient as a typical plow. but what do I know we have hurricanes here in south La.
I know you'd want the hoe on the back to aid in the traction of the rear tires but you should consider trying the pusher without it. Removing it should hopefully give some weight back to the front of the machine to aid in steering and possibly allow you to use the float function. I recently removed my box blade and I am noticing improved steering when using my loader with edge tamers. I still need to lift the bucket occasionally but not nearly as often.
I know this is an old video but leaving my two cents. Instead of making those 1/4 mile pushes (the pusher box fills up then just pushes the snow out the sides and you need more pushes to clean that up) why not make shorter pushes off to the sides of driveway..
Sure beats shoveling doesn't it? Great video! Just from my experience this weekend (go look at my last video) I would go out on a limb to say that the turf tires (like my tractor has) would have helped you hold a straight line. Of course I wasn't using a push box or pushing as much, as far as you, so I could be wrong. I would also bet that the snow type (wet or powder) and ice make a difference also. Either way I just wanted to say another great video and keep em coming.
You need a top flap on that Polaris blade. I have one on my KFI blade and it makes a huge difference.
It's all about how much snow you get. Blade is faster, but how high do you think your banks get by March when your winter starts in November
Looking like you need a bit more tractor to push and stack piles otherwise not too bad bu with a plow you could do it much faster boxes work great on large lots thats about it

With no trip mechanism they aren't dummy proof, lol. No moving parts is a great thing but catching any hidden obstacles under the snow will HURT. Don't ask how I know 😂
70 degree weather in central Florida today.
I think a set of shoes for my loader bucket would be as good, and one less bit, to find a place to store. A plow blade with hydro to turn it side to side, and of course, with plow shoes for my gravel drive, even better. Pusher box? Just not much game with that thing.
I know this is a old video but I have been looking to get something for snow. Do you feel if you had a plow on the front you could have done that faster with less passes. Seems the box fills up and it all goes off the edges. Where a plow you move it to the side.
Float on blade attachments works much nicer . Loader float system on most tractors is too stiff causing lost of steering . Cylinders on float pushing oil back and forth is not quick enough .

Does the loader have a float position and would that help not have so much down pressure?
Now I am really confused, just bought a BX2380 with a loader no backhoe, salesman says better to put box scraper or blade on front like you have here so you can drive forward to see and don’t have to turn around to push snow and yet you still turn around to back up driveway. However I took the cheaper yay out n got the rear box scraper, hope did not make a mistake, however looks same to me except I can scrap both ways plus can use loader at end of driveway as well. What are your thoughts? Oh plus for heavy deeper snow also got a snowblower attachment but for the rear same reason half the cost, full drive is 600 ft long.

Have you thought of doing a plowing comparison between your side by side and the RK24? I’d be very interested in your thoughts as I currently plow with an atv and am thinking of moving into the compact market
They really need to start putting float on these smaller tractors. It would work so much better if you could put the front loader in float mode so it follows terrain without taking weight off the wheels.

You mention down pressure. Why don't you use it in float when worried about going to deep? & would the same apply when using buckets? Sorry if this is dumb question, I'm new to plowing with tractors.

Would a hydraulic plow be better suited for doin driveways as opposed to a box plow?
Think it would depend on what you want. The snow pusher is nice because you can use the loader to lift the snow up higher if needed. One feature I liked about the snow pusher is that and the one tractor time with tim was using where you can curl and get right up to a garage door and back drag the snow. But overall, I would still want a regular 60" plow I think. Can angle it and I think it would be easier on the tractor as the snow curls off the plow easier and cleaner with keeping the snow off to the angled side. With a snow pusher and a lot of snow the snow comes around the sides as seen in the video and isn't as clean I don't think. A snowblower to me just isn't as fun and you usually have to go too slow for my liking. I would do a standard plow first if it was me, but the snow pusher is tempting for pushing it high. One advantage to using the snow pusher over the bucket on the front end loader is not having to curl the bucket to get rid of the snow. The snow pusher you just push and lift.

I've been looking at the RK24 with loader & pusher box for snow removal. Would you recommend the RK24 tractor? I have a 3 acre property in the hill towns of Albany,NY @ 1275' above sealevel. I have a 10' x 240' paved driveway, 12' x 340' shale driveway to my barn, 12' x 350' shale driveway to my pond that require winter snow & ice & spring shale maintenance. I also need to remove downed trees & collect firewood. Also future grading of .5 acre lawn and install 3' x 35 paver sidewalk. Move around the property from the barn my snowmobile 6' x 8' trailer, 4' x 4' utility trailer.
Did the tires have ballast in them ?
My town got about 10.5 inches. They were predicting 18 to 24. O well, next time!
Hey Mike not sure if the rk 24 has two break pedals or not but if your on a machine that does unlock the pedals and you steer left or right with each break. So when you have to much down pressure with the bucket and the front tires have no steer power that's when you use the individual break pedals. Next for doing your driveways would you rather use a plow on the tractor or the pusher? Looking to get one or the other for myself
I agree with you Shaun. I run a 7' snow pusher on a 2WD tractor and that is mainly how I steer the tractor. Even in float, the weigh of the snow pushing against the FEL's high pivot point is enough to lift the front wheels.
It would be nice if the loader had a float function on it.
Suggest some FLASHING Yellow lights for your tractor for SAFETY when working on roads with cars, etc.
Yea, no lights. Did you remove them? With my JD 2305, the flashers do not work of I turn on my aux. Lights. I bought 2 small round amber lights (eBay) that I put on top of ROPS. Battery powered, work great. Like to have people notice me.
