Thanks for the video. Saved me some money on Zan slugs. I know you had to cover it up a little, but the Patriot and the JSB shot twice as good as the Zan.
Thanks for taking the time to make this. One question: To me, the harmonics should (will) change from one pellet maker to the next. I think you got lucky with not needing to re-tune the tuner for each slug. Even though you are keeping the velocity close the weight difference and just how the slug contacts the liner with change the harmonics. I only mention this for guys that may be new to the sport. Don't give up if one slug shoots well and the other doesn't. Try re-tuning for the slug specific. Another thing to consider when shooting slugs, one may be more stable at a particular velocity. Im sure the gentleman in the video probably knows this (may even have it in another video) but it wasn't mentioned. I hope I didn't sound like a troll 😬
Hi mate , I 100% agree with what you wrote 👍 I tuned the gun in the video for the ZAN slug and wanted to test to see if similar weight slugs also would benefit from the harmonic balance of the slug I tuned it to ( I wasn’t expecting to get good groups as harmonics are so fuzzy with slugs ) but somehow the did group wel . Maybe luck or not 🤔 wil need to investigate that maybe. Normally I tune my guns ( in other videos) to a certain consistent max velocity and then I look for the best accuracy in velocity by going down on the power wheel. It would be interesting to see what a pellet of the same mass and shot at the same velocity would do. My feeling is that since a slug will have less bearing surface in contact with the barrel, it would impart less of its energy to the barrel, and thus produce a slower moving and/or lower amplitude harmonic wave. Certainly worth a look!
Hi Bryan, there is no point in doing this as I can get good accuracy without it . But then I need a different tune and the gun choices the velocity to be accurate, with the tuner I choose the velocity I want to shoot that ammo and correct the harmonics with the tuner. Thank you. Haven’t been able to get any consistency with 22 slugs in my stock M3. Was going to try a carbon sleeve on the stock barrel, but looks like I need to spend a bunch more and get the heavy liner, sleeve and tuner.
Hi mate , before you go ahead and spend a bunch of money I would advise you to try the following first . 1 I don’t know what weight slugs you want to shoot but the superior liner can shoot slugs aswel but you will have to choose a lighter one from a softer lead . For instance the Javelin , ZAN , JSB . Try a 25gr or less in a .218 size 2. Try to get a very consistent fps tune to about 960 , then go out and shoot at every setting on the powerwheel ( velocity tune to find the best harmonic) to see what velocity you get the best accuracy. This should be able to allow you to shoot slugs with the original configuration and have decent results My setup and all the extras is build to shoot some heavy slugs at fast speeds

Hello there I am just now getting back into shooting again,...I received my custom RAW 1000 x in 25 cal. I ordered my ATS tuner and wondering what distance you are using your tuner at? I am only shooting pellets. I am hole in hole at 40,50 and 60 yrds. But once I get out to 80 yards and further I start to lose accuracy. Should I be dialing in the tuner at 80 to 100 yrds? Also is it okay to be shooting pellets out that distance or should I be switching to slugs ?
Hi , yes I usually set the tuner in at 75 m . It is quite common for pellets to shoot hole in hole at 50-60 but once you stretch it 25 m extra pellets get affected by the elements of wind etc . You could go to slugs but that’s a whole other ballgame 😉 and hard to tune .
Great instructional video. Out of curiosity, What are your second regulator and micro wheel settings for the 25/30 gr slugs? I know results will vary since you mentioned several mods are installed.
Hi! Grate grate instructional video! You are always showing us the way with everything that has to do with FX a impact guns. Thank you very much!!! Is your barrel 700 or 800 mm??
Thank you so much for your immediate response.Appreciate! Do you think the 800 mm is worth for shooting slugs up to 170-180 meters? @@panayotisantypas3828 😂 airguns are very addictive 👍🏻 Regarding the barrel length , if you don’t need extra speed to shoot heavy slug and you can archive what you want with a 700mm you don’t need the 800mm in my opinion. If you want to shoot 22cal 40gr slugs at 1000fps yes I would advise it . The extra barrel length of the 800mm also gives extra room for shooter error as the slug or pellets travel true the barrel is a bit longer and trigger control becomes even more important . I have requested a 800mm at FX to find out more 😉

good afternoon, I really like your fx rifle, I ask one thing about your July 16 or July 24 rifle, or apart from that, do you buy parts with more power? I speak little English badly from Spain
Hi , what do you mean with July 16-21 ? My M3 is one of the first ones produced if that’s what you ask ? I have made some power upgrades in the form of the slug power kit , you can find that video on my channel aswel
Great video, thank you. Can you share your thoughts on Harmonic Barrel Tuner? Does this work for 0.22 caliber only, or will it work for 0.25 and 0.30 calibers as well?
Your vids are next level. I've never seen anyone else notice, but you use 2 grip styles(thumbs up high grip and standard full grip. How do you decide which grip to use? I used your high grip style and my groups have really tightened up and the cocking is faster and more natural. Keep the vids coming!
Hi , thanks for the support! My grip style depends somewhat on the setup I am shooting and how it’s tuned . For high power setups with high regulator settings I tend to get better accuracy with the thumb up and high on the grip , lower power setups are much more forgiving.
@Airbuks ... Thank you, this explains why your thumbs up method works for me. My .30 Mav Compact is set at 180/150 and is lights out with FX Hybrids traveling at 910fps at my limited 75 yard range. Do you squeeze your thumb and your trigger finger together (lemon squeeze) for the shot... that's what I'm doing. Thanks again!
@@fishing4happiness610 I slightly put pressure with my thumb against the action , for some strange reason it gives me a more steady aim and better trigger control 🤷♂️
My question ? Is it repeatable if you switch back & forth with slugs & speed to the setting that gave you a tighter groups with the harmonic balancer .
Awesome vid! I appreciate you sharing you results and hard work. Have you been able to get your hands on the new 25 cal knockouts with a flared skirt? Those have me excited, I’m hoping they shoot well out of the m3 with the standard superior liner. It shoots the 33.95 mk 2’s excellent with that liner and I don’t want to change to a slug liner and lose my pellet accuracy.
Thx for the support 🙏🏻 those are the comments that keep me going ! I have heard about those flared slugs on a video coverage of shot show so I think they aren’t available yet . Soon as they are I will try them for sure . But slugs made from soft lead might work also in the normal superior liner , there is not harm in trying it , they won’t damage your liner 👍🏻
@@Airbuks I appreciate your response! who makes what you would consider softer lead? My thoughts are Most slugs fit so loosely that I don’t think they get influenced by the grooves in the liners. I’ve tried some avs .2513 and they grouped better. Do you think the 254 diameter is too large for a superior liner?
@@Airbuks Oh OK mate that's fine Still love the videos and your content you put out so makes know difference I hang tight to you get the .25 back out ..
I'm puzzled why you left your scope off center. The movement of your hits on a mostly vertical change then you need to change zero. That way you aim directly at the center of the bull and then your slug hits in the center of the bull.
De aim was group size , not to be perfectly in the Bull . When shooting groups/tuning I often do that as I keep my point of aim and get the best idea of group size . If my first shot lands in the bull the point of aim is comprised

Mmm 🤔 interesting, my both impacts and Maverick have the refill sound . I think if you don’t use air enough the plenum might refill just a tiny bit that doesn’t make noise . If you have that regulator at 145 what is your micro ,macro and valve at ?
Micro 3/12 macro 15 Just wondering if because I did over fill the bottle about 40psi over which probably put a strain on the first reg if that had something to do with it. I adjusted the gun at Reg2 pressure at 140 bar, Macro 16, Micro 4 and Valve 5.5 to an average speed of 960 fps with FX Hybrids 22 grains. After shooting 5-10 shots with accuracy, accuracy issues were starting with according shots so I measured the speed again and it was only 890 fps I completed shooting without any tuning and finally the speed was 802 fps! I checked tank pressure 200 bar was O.K and power plenum Reg2 steady at 140 bar. Nevertheless I refilled tank to 250 but but speed was now only 790 !! I adjusted valve and hammer spring again to reach 960 fps but the same things happened again, loosing speed with any further shots. Any ideas what’s wrong and can be fixed ??
Sorry for the late reply, I am wondering if the C1 isn’t backing out by itself 🤔 In the older models it could be that the hammerspring adjustment was backing out but on the M3 I think that’s not possible. Do you know what’s the C1 ?
My last adjustments with Huma Slug Kit: Reg1:164-166, Reg2: 124-126 (both Sekhmet Digital), Makro 16, Micro 3.5, Vo= 977 with FX Hybrid 22 Slugs at Home fairly constant, but at the Range dropping down to 820 fps after a few shots now.
@@emmerichweinlich1057 🤔 strange , few things to ask and determine. Are you shooting in much colder air the the tests at home Are you shooting at a much higher or lower altitude then testing at home Is the regulator pressure the same even with the lower velocity
Yes indeed, I can also archive the same results without the tuner but in order for the gun to get to that accuracy level the gun dictates at what velocity I have to shoot a particular ammo .The whole point of the tuner is that now I choice the FPS I want and the gun , so with the tuner I can change the harmonic node by shifting the weight and without the tuners I have to change the velocity to archive the correct harmonic node . I hope my explanation makes sense 🤞🏻
No disrespect my friend but look back in your videos when you were shooting your blue EDGUN LEYLA after putting your Huma regulator in it and you shot on your front lawn laying down with bipod at 50 yards. Your groups were way better with that little short barrel Leyla at 50 yards then that extra long FX barrel M3. Proof is in the video just look at it yourself.
See what you mean, but the leyla was shooting pellets and he is using slugs in this video.slugs and pellets normally group different but some times you can get a great combination and balance, that allows great results. But to get heavy slug perform like that I am happy with , lighter slugs wil perform even better . But the real benefit will be at longer ranges
No indeed , I do this in purpose as for accuracy testing I like to be able and keep the aim point the same . If I would shoot center target I don’t see the exact aim point anymore

After installing the slug power kit you will have to turn your tune down or you risk overpowering the valve and your tune will be out of shape .
Hello there
I am just now getting back into shooting again,...I received my custom RAW 1000 x in 25 cal.
Thx , the settings I use are
1st reg at 180
2nd reg at 145
Macro 16
Micro 3
Valve at 4
Hi!
Grate grate instructional video!
You are always showing us the way with everything that has to do with FX a impact guns.
Thank you very much!!!
Is your barrel 700 or 800 mm??
Hi thx for the support, this is a 700mm barrel 👍🏻
Thank you so much for your immediate response.Appreciate!
Do you think the 800 mm is worth for shooting slugs up to 170-180 meters?
I have mine with 700mm harmonic tuner heavy slug liner carbon fiber sleeve(as you recommended without glue) and original suppressor and shoot H&N 28 gr Slugs.
At 100 meters I get 1 inch groups.
Thanks again for all you fantastic videos.I have learned so much mor these amazing Airguns .
I have been a Professional Hunter in Ethiopia for many many years and now ready to retire in Kefalonia island in Greece. These guns are becoming a virus passion!!Hahaha
@@panayotisantypas3828 😂 airguns are very addictive 👍🏻
Regarding the barrel length , if you don’t need extra speed to shoot heavy slug and you can archive what you want with a 700mm you don’t need the 800mm in my opinion.
If you want to shoot 22cal 40gr slugs at 1000fps yes I would advise it .
The extra barrel length of the 800mm also gives extra room for shooter error as the slug or pellets travel true the barrel is a bit longer and trigger control becomes even more important .
I have requested a 800mm at FX to find out more 😉
@@Airbuks Hi again my friend.
So nice to receive your reply.
I will wait for your tests and then see if it is worth buying.
What do you think about the 700 cc carbon fiber bottle.Should I consider it ?
I once again would like to thank you for your help .
@@panayotisantypas3828 the 700cc is nice when you shoot from the bench as it gives you quite more shots before dropping if the regulator.
Look wise with a 700mm barrel is also good in my opinion.
If you hunt and carry your gun a lot I would stick to a 580cc max
With the 800mm I think it’s best to have a 700cc even just for looks
good afternoon, I really like your fx rifle, I ask one thing about your July 16 or July 24 rifle, or apart from that, do you buy parts with more power? I speak little English badly from Spain
Hi , what do you mean with July 16-21 ?
My M3 is one of the first ones produced if that’s what you ask ?
I have made some power upgrades in the form of the slug power kit , you can find that video on my channel aswel
Great video, thank you. Can you share your thoughts on Harmonic Barrel Tuner? Does this work for 0.22 caliber only, or will it work for 0.25 and 0.30 calibers as well?
Thx , so far I am very pleased with it allowing me to choose the velocity to shoot a particular ammo .
Any it will work with any caliber 👍🏻
@Airbuks ... Agreed, looking forward to more good stuff!
hello first thank you very much for information just i want to know the shroud 700 mm total how many cm? thank you
Never measured it 🤔 I just ordered one for the 700mm barrel 🤷♂️
My question ? Is it repeatable if you switch back & forth with slugs & speed to the setting that gave you a tighter groups with the harmonic balancer .
After I recorded the video I turned it back to shoot some 30gr with the same accuracy as in the video

Hi. Can fx impact barrel fit fx maverick ?and also pellet probe thanks
The barrel can be used on the Maverick but the probes are different
@@Airbuks thank you very much for your reply
I'm puzzled why you left your scope off center. The movement of your hits on a mostly vertical change then you need to change zero. That way you aim directly at the center of the bull and then your slug hits in the center of the bull.
De aim was group size , not to be perfectly in the Bull .
When shooting groups/tuning I often do that as I keep my point of aim and get the best idea of group size . If my first shot lands in the bull the point of aim is comprised
@@Airbuks Understood. As a competitor I keep adjusting for POI and then toss out any brand that fails to remain on the bull. I''m also a trained sniper and we always adjusted for POI when performing our zero testing and load adjustments. Habit which bugs me when watching others. LOL

Hey have you ever heard of the m3 not making the refill noise?
My m3 .22 700mm with the power block
1st reg 170 2nd 145
I take a shoot and it does not make the refill sound but it also fills back up to 145
Fx USA Tech said don't be worried
He has had customers call on similar issues. He also said the plenum tolllerence can be different
What do you think?
Mmm 🤔 interesting, my both impacts and Maverick have the refill sound .
I think if you don’t use air enough the plenum might refill just a tiny bit that doesn’t make noise .
If you have that regulator at 145 what is your micro ,macro and valve at ?
Micro 3/12 macro 15
Just wondering if because I did over fill the bottle about 40psi over which probably put a strain on the first reg if that had something to do with it.
But it does sound like I'm not using a lot of air so it a very little to refill.
I'm going to bleed the system and rest the regs to see what happens.
Fx USA did say I had nothing to worry about if my fps or poi haven't drop

Great video, could have been better if you did a before & after though. My MK2 groups the same without ANY mods to barrel or a tuner.

I have a big problem with my new FX impact M3: It can‘t hold Pellet/Slug velocity.
I adjusted the gun at Reg2 pressure at 140 bar, Macro 16, Micro 4 and Valve 5.5 to an average speed of 960 fps with FX Hybrids 22 grains.
After shooting 5-10 shots with accuracy, accuracy issues were starting with according shots so I measured the speed again and it was only 890 fps
I completed shooting without any tuning and finally the speed was 802 fps!
Sorry for the late reply, I am wondering if the C1 isn’t backing out by itself 🤔
In the older models it could be that the hammerspring adjustment was backing out but on the M3 I think that’s not possible.

Nice video, but i can do this without the tuner. So for me it isn't a big improvement for acuraccy.
