Thoughts on cozy grove? ⬇️⬇️
It has the same vibes as secret cat forest. Just a really chill 20 minutes a day kind of game. Ill probably play it soon :)
the style is pretty much a mix of dont starve and feel the snow! its pretty interesting, but i dont think i'd buy it
Looks super cute! I'll have to try it to pass time until Garden Story comes out for the switch! I sunk a lot of hours into Don't Starve Together as well so Cozy Grove looks up my alley :D Highly recommend the short lil Garden Story trailer Nintendo put out, the music alone is chef's kiss
I've been playing nearly every day since it launched, and I'm very much in love. It's just such a cute game with low stress.

idk if this is a commonly known money making tip on cozy grove? but I quickly learned on my first day that you should never directly sell your fish to Mr. Kit. There's a bear statue that you can craft for only 4 burnt fish bones each, and it sells for 2500 coins per statue! By day four I could already afford the 200k tent upgrade and the 2nd shop upgrade! burn your fish and make the statues before you sell them, and you'll have money so fast :3

Cosy Grove is ADORABLE. The art style can be kind of hard to adjust to imo but it's worth it
Old comment I know but I searched cozy grove reviews as I’m considering it. I initially wrote it off bc I’m really picky about art styles (I will never play stardew valley, my brain can’t even understand those game boy style games anymore lol) but it just looks so cuuute
I absolutely love the music in Cozy Grove as well, it's so beautiful.
I started Cozy Grove before Animal Crossing New Horizons, and so the shift was ROUGH for me. It was a struggle getting into animal crossing because I saw Cozy Grove as superior due to its task oriented pacing, my preference for the art style, and the quicker start you were able to have for Cozy Grove. HOWEVER, now that I'm hooked on Animal Crossing, I love them both for different reasons. Cozy Grove will always be my number 1 for selfish reasons, but Animal Crossing is great because of the community.
lol, the community….just reminds me how garbage nintendo is and how animal crossing should be so much more in terms of playing online and actually having a real community of players
Same re: frustration. Now my main frustrations are running out of space and all the dang sweet potatoes!
unfortunate that this game released on switch at basically the same time as littlewood (which is a similarly delightful indie game). i'll probably pick this up eventually though, it looks mad cute!

I've had it on switch for over a week and love it so much. I have plenty to do and don't understand how anyone can be bored.
I think for people that dont time skip it can be boring, the game would be perfect if you could go to bed and start a new day without it being linked to your clock (: but definitely never boring!

exactly like you said!! it's almost infuriating but enjoyable working out the little quirks and figuring out how the game itself works :) its so fun for me at the moment but wondering if playing it through once will have me done for. not sure what the usual play time is so I'm interested!

Really glad i came across this, I’ve been wanted something like spiritfarer or dont starve for awhile now but i already got through everything in spiritfarer and dont starve seemed a little intimidating 😅 this is like the perfect mix of both and it is fairly new

I recently downloaded the game on the switch just for fun but then became obsessed, shortly I realised that if you recycle the quartz thing you get after doing a quests or something you can get a ton of money! And I mean a tok
i know im lateeeeee but quartz isnt really renewable so it's so risky to recycle it, you really never knowbhow much of it you need especially as it is a currency too so imagine youre at the end of the game and have unlocked every achievement and donated every item to the collection but you need more quartz, but you already recycled them all for money ://

I’m really missing new leaf right now. New horizons isn’t the same for me it just lacks too much conten. Also I miss the depressing music at night 😂

Although I respect your opinion, I like both games. But as I played Cozy Grove, I found a few drawbacks.
1. You can’t give your player a name.
2. Really cringey sounds when scrolling though the menu.
3. You have to use two buttons to use a fishing rod. ZR to throw and A to reel in. And those sequences are hard to remember. Whereas in Animal Crossing, those actions are done with A.
4. To cancel a throw, you have to lower the throwing power then press ZR which costs a few seconds.
5. You cannot sit on furniture and place objects on top of tables. (I know this isn’t Animal Crossing but it’ll be nice to have that ability in this game as well).
6. Really soft dialogue sounds from NPCs or maybe the volume in the options wasn’t loud enough.
7. You cannot eat the cooked dishes or fruits/vegetables you’ve harvested.
8. In this game 1 brown coin is 1. 1 silver coin is 100. It’ll takes a lot to get your savings up to 1,000. In Animal Crossing 1 coin is 100 bells. And you can spend on items quickly.
9. I can easily forget that Y opens up your pack and X shows your quests.
10. When selecting multiple items, you have to press X to select more than one and Y to immediately sell/donate/store the item which I find confusing. In Animal Crossing, to sell/discard an item, I can just use A to select multiple items.
EDIT:
11. It’s really complicated to catch bugs. You cannot move with the net equipped. And all the bugs are timid and easily run away from you.
12. You can name your pets but you have to select the pre-made names instead of using a keyboard to type a name of your own.
13. The rocks where the iron ores are mined are hard to find since it blends into the land in both the lit and unlit sections and worse yet, there’s a quest that needs them. (Thank God an update solved this)
14. The cooking update just came out in Animal Crossing and the cooking time is very reliable and fast. Cooking in this game though, I have to wait FIVE MINUTES for my dish to finish. Why?
15. The machete, shovel and pickaxe breaks after several uses. In order to mend it, you have to let the durability reach 0 and then gather several materials to fix them. Whereas in Animal Crossing when those tools break, you have the option to buy another from the store.
16. The Fall Festival items stay in the game all year round (I have the lanterns which are useful because like other lamps in the game, they light up the unlit sections). However the winter festival items, they disappear once the festival has ended. And you have to craft those items again once the festival comes back after another year.
Overall the game is relaxing, it has multiple songs that changes when one song ends, the character’s movement is cute, and the art style is so classy.
