    Wow! If you can bring this kind of insight to a very good player, imagine what we amateurs can learn. I’m stunned that more people aren’t subscribed to your channel. It’s the best RUclips instruction out here. If golfers really want to get better, they need to be subscribed to this channel and ignore all of the other positional instructors out there who fill our minds with nonsense that hinders our play and improvement instead of truly making us better.

    Well first things first and I believe everything happens for a purpose. The thought comes where or how do I start to tell my 62 year life journey. This video the latest installment.

    Well that was a massive light bulb moment for me, going down in both directions before rotating, i have spent god knows how many years turning and trying to stay in the same posture /maintaining the same height.
    Going down and then springing up in the backswing throws the club up, (no lifting going on), so much more fluidity, room and time in the swing, the same action in the downswing allows the club shaft shallowing before getting fired.

    Wish you could get your hands on Rory, his head is so twisted right now and this is exactly what he needs. Then stick me on his bag and I think we could add 5 or 6 majors over the next few years. Well done MARCUS.

    • @saufai74
      @saufai74 3 года назад +1

      Rory needs to go back to 2011 US Open Rory. He played so instinctively and cocky. He didn’t need the gym or all these other things he putts so much effort into. Just go out and play like he is with his mates.

    • @marcusjohnson488
      @marcusjohnson488 2 года назад

      Rory’s 20th win seems to be the result of him realising he can just be himself and that’s good enough. Letting go of process and playing shots intuitively. He’s discovered his Zen.

    What was interesting in this lesson was watching light bulbs going off in James head. He clearly has gone into a lot of the golf swing science like ground reaction forces and the detail of the swing and had organised them as best he could to the best of his understanding of the concepts. but although he thought he understood them Marcus brought them to life in this lesson in a way his body understood them and felt them. You could see James relating to his memory bank of knowledge and reorganising what he thought he knew into new sections around what he had learned in this lesson..I got the impression James wished he had come across Marcus much earlier in his career and got into this movement approach sooner.. Visually James was moving better and more naturally and it just looked better. That was great to watch, Marcus is clearly a vey talented teacher and I strongly suspect James will be back for more instruction.

    I love this channel. It's come along for me at a time when I have realized I have lost the 'swing' in my golf hit.
    One suggestion - fix the volume levels. I have to turn the sound way up just to hear Marcus and the student, but then, every time Robin laughs, it's way too loud. And those beeps in this episode were way too loud.
    Sorry to be a dick. I really do love this channel.

    3:00 "Feeling what they are feeling" I've fallen into this trap so many times which have led to lots of dead ends. I totally get what James is saying; you like the look of some pro's swing and try to incorporate what you think they're feeling.. but how can you really guage that? Besides, we all know that feel isn't real.

    Question: back in my youth, I did try to empty my mind - trying to apply Zen and the Art of Archery to Golf. I found I couldn’t….any stray thought, then sabotaged the swing! I found I needed something to occupy my mind. I guess focusing on rhythm or getting the weight to the right heel might be suitable?
