literally using the lens you are reviewing as well as throwing in more example footage in diverse setups is one of the smartest things i've seen a reviewer do. really well made video! instant subscribe
i try and be as honest and real as possible, which means showing the viewers as much as i can to get the best idea of what the product can actually do!
Great work. I was looking at the surui carbon lenses for a while but just recently looked at the blazar’s and I agree they look a lot better & being PL makes it easier to me to use across multiple systems if needed. Watched this and your most recent video. Gotta subscribe you make some good videos bro
interesting the sideways approach, does that mean if you had the cato 2x you would get close to 2:1 by mounting the lens 90degreess and filming with the camera in portrait mode using opengate?
you would multiple the squeeze factor 2x by the vertical axis. so it would be a 3:2 sensor meaning you multiply the 2 by 2 giving you a 3:4 sensor but of course it’s vertical do you swap the numbers meaning your final aspect ratio would be 4:3!

Ah that make sense
Can you shoot open gate with s5??
unfortunately no but with 1.5x anamorphics it’s not a big issue. the S5iix however does shoot open gate!
