The second one. She is more distinct from blending into the background as in the first one. It has an overall soft glow. There appears to be a pathway of a sunbeam. Most of all, the curtains appear softer and translucent in the second one. Beautiful, thank you.
I wish I could paint like that.... But my medium is photography. Still fun to watch someone else's creative process. (Flow.) I definitely feel like that sometimes. (Here to support from Salma Jafri's group.)
Hi Zita! Thank you so much for your support! I am the opposite as you painting is my medium, but I wish I was better at photography, I think we can help each other out even if it is just a secondary thing. I want to learn more since I take my own reference photos. 😃
@@AlisaLaporteArt I think the most important is still practice and trying to leave perfectionism behind and allow yourself to be creative and make mistakes. Only then will you get better and learn something new without necessarily copying someone else.
Zita, yes I agree it is when we make mistakes that we learn the most. I like to sometimes write on the back of my studies what I did wrong and right so I remember and I can go back and look at it. I guess for me I'm mostly looking to learn How to use the camera I have. I've never taken photography classes.
Thanks for letting us share in your process, Alisa! I love the color story and the mood it creates, and that even though we only see the back of the figure, she has personality and we can imagine that she's contemplating or waiting for someone or something. I like the second one better, the sense of light and dimension is more pronounced (on the girl's back and head especially) and the curtains feel very tactile while not taking focus from the figure. I feel that the vertical purple line with the horizontal marks is distracting and makes the composition a bit static, maybe there's a way to make it more subtle and more integral to the composition. I'm looking forward to seeing your finished piece, and I hope our comments are helpful, not too contradictory or confusing :)
Thank you so much for your comment, and for the advice, that is a good idea for the purple line abd horizontal strips, I will play with making it lighter, but it is integral to the painting. This is wonderful ❤ I love hearing from you all!
I, too, prefer the second for its color Nd light. But I ?liked the girl's hair better before you darkened it, put the final darks in. Too much dark, I felt. I agree with the comment about the purple vertical slide and horizontal lines somehow distracting perhaps too many horizontal. They don't, for me, suggest blinds very well.... Love the curtains and the figure is just great.
I like them both for different reasons. The first seems to be a cool winters day. The second brings a feeling of a summer morning.
Ooo I like that idea, It definitely brings to mind what time of year I want to portray. Thanks!😄

Yes! This is wonderful ❤ that's the feeling I was going for in the second one!!
Yes. Love the comparison. I prefer the 2nd. I prefer it's closer, the curtains, less of the blind markings and the colouring too.
Thank you so much for your response 😊
Let me know which one you like better and why! Thank you for your support!

@@AlisaLaporteArt Start somewhere, start taking photos and when you have a question, then look for the answers. ;) RUclips is really great for that.
Thank you!
Also, sorry about the music being so loud in some spots, when I checked it before uploading it wasn't that loud. I will work on fixing it.

I agree, I liked her hair before, I was trying to add the shadow, but lost the glow of her hair.😖 I appreciate your insight 🙏!
