The machinists tool box is one of my best purchases. It’s funny bcuz I have just about everything you mentioned except for the air compressor. It took me awhile to accumulate everything tho, but definitely makes customization so much easier!
And don't forget the Harbor Freight bench holding it all! They are cheap and perfect for the hobby. Comes with peg board and 2 drawers and also has a power outlet on the side and a florescent light at the top. Super handy and cheap workbench
Nice Video ! I Use 2-56 Screws Myself , Also Use A Brass Center punch And Helping Hands . Dremel as Well as A Drill . That Bosch Drill Battery Will Work With Dremel Tool with A Slight Mod.
thank you very much for taking your time making a video that is very comprehensible for the non english(I'm french),I'm a rookie in the hot wheels custom but I want to do it the right way,god bless you
I love this list you've supplied, for the tools and other items you use. Some sadly can't be ordered outside of the US, but i have managed to find similar items that i need elsewhere. Based on this. Thank you! :)
Dear Lord! All these HW restoration/customizing videos, you load your own ammo....and you modify watches? You wax your own cars....i see the wedding band so I assume a wife.....you own a home and you are in the dental industry.....where do you find time to “relax”, maybe decompress....go fishing? I’m retired now from careers in the military and law enforcement.....my family paid dearly for that! But I suddenly feel like a slug! Anyway....excellent video....incredibly informative and like @John Day, I like your wooden box.....I’m thinking one for my decoy carving supplies! Thanks again....Take care!
Great video. Wow. Lots of tools. Curious as to what you’re using for your axles. Assuming they’re dressmaker pins??? What size and where did you get them. And what size are the axle tubes you use with them. Trying to find something as an alternative to stealing axles off other FTE cars. Found some pins but they don’t seem to be the same size as the hot wheels axle.
The only thing I've found locally is the wire in this link. As long as it's .032 it will work. I think Hobby Lobby still sells them fairly cheap. amzn.to/2i5Hjfn
@@WheelsNThangs it's OK bud, saw the other video I commented where the axle end is flatten out, I saw a comment on Beadalon crimp tubes #2, but, how are they used on end of axles?
Fonzies HW68 So many ways to complete axles. A lot of the time I just smash down the ends but sometimes I also use beads which are just glued on. You can also use crimp tubes and crimp them with needle nose pliers or you can glue those as well. Most of the time I just use the hammer and punch method.
@@WheelsNThangs awesome, just saw a video of a guy showing how it's done, pretty easy in fact, I'll be getting the crimp tubes off of eBay, got a few wheel swaps on hold. Thanks bud and love your videos.
ive been trying to get some stuff from redline there having some kinda problem so i called them i dinnt get nothing but a answer machine i also email as well i havnt nothing back from them either i have found in the past several days theres slews of folks that have quite a bit of this hot wheels stuff on ebay
Sadly for me some of your tools and items aren´t selled in Mexico or not used kinda anymore or hard to get. I even searched in Home Depot Mexico´s page and no good results, also entered to Amazon searching for some of your tools and the important ones aren´t shipped to Mexico =(. As customizer is frustrating for me doing projects improvising with some materials or fixing screws or cutting and not doing a good job with my pieces because some items can´t be acquired in my country and I have to improvise a lot.
I have a hot wheels Ferrari Testarossa I wonder how much it is to send a simple hot wheel through the mail I want to see it restored And Ill just let you keep it since Im not good at taking car of small items other than Legos
@@WheelsNThangs thanks just looking what youre goong thru i was expecting much more. I thought Airbrush and compressor would be right at $75 already. I guess I gotta price it out better and pick out the must haves
Going to give first attempt at a full custom next week. This video has helped tremendously

I think I have watched every one of your videos now, itching for the next restoration video lol ;-)
Very informative video for us beginners. If I may ask, how do you set up your camera for working on your customs?
What type of paint do you use for redline tail lights?
I'm a beginner so this was very helpful
Thank you for the video it was interesting I would like to learn how to restore hot wheels cars

Ha! My form of decompressing is working in the garage. Whenever I sit, I go nuts. Everything is after family time though :)

Would you be interested in painting a 1/18 Scale silver convertible Mustang Cobra to gloss black ?

Quick question....what are the axles you show call and are they from Michaels? In the blue clear bag
They are from Hobby Lobby. Just like these amzn.to/2i5Hjfn
Can you include the link to the vented painting booth?

3:20 i just put coins under my cars to keep them from rolling off [the shelf in my case] or flat lego plats, like a 2x2
This helped me a lot
Awesome stuff, a lot for me to buy for now, did I miss the tool to punch the end of axles so the wheels don't come off?
I may have forgotten it, I use just a punch and hammer.

:( Sorry
You'll get almost everything on AliExpress or similar sites. Except perhaps some paints and solvents.
Thank you !! I´ll check it then.

Got A ballpark figure for someone thinking about taking up the hobby? I have nothing, what's the entry cost to begin?
With a drill probably around $75 or so. Maybe a bit less.

quietlike well you can start with spray cans which I recommend.
👍👍👍💯
All these tools.... yet I still have not see a custom from you.
Still trying to find a entity handle. You’ve named it several times but never link to it. I’ve searched various spellings etc...
You cannot buy just the handle, you have to get the whole wrench. I just remove the tip and drill it out a bit so the tap will fit. amzn.to/2BwDysn
Nice! Well what I use is a marker lol
I have a 1982 Ford I am trying to get rid of
