- Learn about what a render farm is, how it works and how to set one up for Blender.
We setup the Flamenco render manager for Blender and get multiple computers to join so they can all render the same project at the same time.

Super valuable and easy to follow tutorial!
Defy Studios CGI letssgoo! (this deserves more hype than skibidi toilet) :)
Thanks a lot! Very helpful :)
awesome tutorial
wow nice!finally in depth tutorial about flamenco. Anyway, is there any way to rename the render image names?
I was going to ask the same thing
I don’t think there is. You can create a file output node in the compositor however and save a second set of named images somewhere
Thanks very much. Worked first go. A question - any suggested Blender settings on my son's laptop to best utilise my 4070 Ti Super GPU performance ? Thanks
We have using flamenco in our studio for a few weeks and sometimes we have a few problems and sometimes we don´t. Now I'm struggling with 3 machines that are set to workers, but don't show up in the workers list anymore. They did once, but then, they displayed an error in flamenco manager, I removed them and never got them back to work. Any advise?
Dang this is crazy, i was just looking for an in-depth video about this set up. Do you know how to link vdb files for flamenco? It wont render them out
from my tests
Check that the cache files (if you select the domain and click the physics properties, scroll down to cache) are also on your network storage with the project file. It should work if they are.
failed Render that says command exited abnormally with code 1
Manager will fail the entire job as there are no more workers left for tasks of type "blender".
task changed status active -> failed
how to fix that?
could you fix it ?
@@Inwardcrowd2210 still couldnt find the answer. i was looking another way to build render farm instead of using flamenco. is there any good alternative?
@@FebriUltra just the online services easier setups, but im still looking to solve this, in your ip web flamenco page look at the full log in details tab
Sounds like it's potentially an issue with the blender file itself. Will it render normally without Flamenco?
@@DefyCGI hey I'm having the same problem as the person above.
- I've changed the blender file. It does render out normally
- all of my workers are visible and awake
- my shared storage is working
- I tried absolute and relative save locations within my render file.
I am also seeing this same error code when I run the worker program on my other system
Something else you think I might have missed? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
does anyone know why my preview video wont render out? it gets through all the frames but always fails on that. any help will be greatly appreciated.
Check the task log of the failing task. That should give you more info about what's wrong.
Amazing thank you, I'll give that a go
Is it possible to use compositor nodes with Flamenco and output multiple passes to a custom address?
Absolutely, I output multilayer exr files in the compositor. Use a file output node and you can set all the layers you need to render to whatever file path you’d like
There doesnt appear to be any way to force the render clients to use GPU if the client machine that sent the file only has a CPU option.
Sorry the issue was/is with the openImageDenoise. For some reason a 1050ti running on linux runs the denoise incredibly slowly, I can switch to optix denoise on the linux server and it runs super fast, but since I dont have a GPU on my workstation, I cannot even select that option. So if I want to send a file from a windows machine with no GPU to be rendered on the farm, I have to do it with no denoising which is annoying.
Yeah the pc you send it from needs to have gpu rendering selected
@@DefyCGI Its unfortunate because the best reason to use a farm is if you have to work on a slow desktop comp with no GPU, I want the have the ability to drop that file off on the render farm and then go work on something else. Tying up my slow desktop with a render that will take hours is far from ideal.
I continue to look for solutions to this problem.
For me, it appears code 403 error 😢

I'm sorry, what if I have a local address?
You'll always have an address that's suitable for use on your network (otherwise your network wouldn't work). When you start Flamenco Manager, it'll log a bunch of different URLs for you to try.
