You don't get it precisely because you are from Spain and are not familiar with terms used in the USA. Over here 'white people" refers to a specific ethnic group in the the United States, whose native language is English and who do not claim membership in any other ethnicity. In other words, white Americans, a group which has existed since colonial times. It's how they call themselves. "White people" does not refer to all Caucasians in the world, just to that group. It's the people Latinos call "los Americanos". Well, American is anyone born or naturalized in the USA, without reference to any race or ethnicity, while "white people" is very specific. This creates confusion, unless you are an American and are familiar with how people here use terms like "race", "white", "black" "Hispanic" etc. It's not as simple as it appears.

They need to know that this is not their language and things are different, like there are more letters in the ABC in spanish, the H is silent, there is ñ, there are make a toung twisting sound, two L's make the Y sound, etc😟.
