This place is so special..I sincerely hope that it won’t ever be ruined by mass development and destruction. It’s happened all over nearby Georgetown which used to be such a charming little Texas town, now it looks like everywhere else and so many old oaks and ranches are now gone. How can this be prevented so all generations can enjoy such beautiful Texas towns?
My wife and I have been to Salado many times over the years. It is a very pleasant place to visit. Thanks for making this video. It brings back lots of fond memories!
I'm going to have to put Salado on my bucket list. Looks like a great little piece of Texas waiting for me to discover. I really enjoyed all the historical buildings.
I love these! Thinking of moving to Texas. Grew up in Southern CA and worked here. Not the same place and I, like many, am looking at Texas. Would love someplace with interesting history. I was born in Kingsville, so maybe they’ll let me back in. 😉
From India greetings and thanks for the historical video .Texas has been a curiosity town ( State) for me .I have a book on Texas by James Michner . Also the story of The Alamo is very inspiring for me.Personally I love to know more about the wild west . This is an interesting video Thanks very much.Pune City.
Really enjoy Salado and Barrow Brewery and Chupacabra. Take FM 2843 southwest to the Gault site and there are some stacked rocks as part of the sign, but I think you have to book a tour with the Bell County Museum. Take FM 2484 west for some great views at the transition into the hill country scenery overlooking Stillhouse Hollow Lake and there are nice parks all around the lake, especially Chalk Ridge Falls, Dana Peak, and Overlook Park in bluebonnet season.
My family used to stop at Salado and stay at the Stagecoach Inn every summer for a few days on our way to Port Aransas in the late 60's. Such a beautiful place.
I imagine they still have the Scottish Festival there. I drove down several years ago to spend the day. Enjoyed it very much, as I spent a year in Scotland.
I was told that when that building at 4:40 was a saloon all the towns women would take turns sitting outside to make the men too ashamed to go in. It worked from what I hear.
I live south of Salado in a lil town called Cameron. I've been to Salado a few times but am interested in exploring the story of buried gold there. I have the story stored away but none has reportedly found it yet.
GOD BLESS Texas
He did.
Salado is a special town. Artsy and peaceful.
It's amazing and wonderful that so many old homes are still standing. Crazy that the log cabin was INSIDE another building! Great video!

Historic tours are awesome. Especially with the natural environment.
On a trip from Austin to Waco 2 yrs ago, my family & I stopped for breakfast at the Stagecoach. Its a beautiful structure with great food and service!

Great video, Salado is on my list and my boys would love the creek.
Great little town.
Drove by Salado often heading to see my grandpa in Belton (coming from SA). Never stopped, now I think I need to!
I’m planning a trip to central Texas and I will use your channel as my main reference for places to visit. So, thanks!

Great job! Definitely not the Gault site though. It’s just around the corner from my house❤❤❤
Did you catch the sculpture park? And the Old Garage with the Mobile Horse, signs and gas pump?
