I'm more of a street photographer, and I've enjoyed using Olympus Pen, Pen S, and Pen D to express myself. I'm very pleased to see a new generation picking up on half-frame.

Just started with half frame. The added frames makes me much more free as regards experimentation. BTW: half frame used to be used to make film strips. Needed special projectors, I think.

That is one of it's great benefits! More leeway to get that perfect shot 😊

I love my half- frame cameras. The new Pentax camera sneak peak pictures - it looks 👍🏻 good. I also have a half- frame 120 film camera😊 Actually half- frame cameras are the still cameras version of 'movie' cameras which 35mm film was originally made for.😉

I've been shooting 1/2 frame for a few months now with a Pen F. Pictures look great, I am very tempted to pick up the Ektar H35N for thhe summer festivals. The Pen F is lovely, it's also delicate and 60 years old, picture quality is astounding though. here's hoping the Pentax will be reasonably priced, becasue I see little point buying another 1/2 frame camera for more than this cost.

How are the scanning machines coping with half frame scans? Is there much more manual handling required?

Luckily we have a half-frame scanning mask so it's easy for us to do, though some labs do not have the right equipment and will charge extra for half-frame scanning as a result!

    35mm full frame 24x36mm 2:3
    35mm ½ frame 18x24mm 3:4
Are you really telling me that you never use portrait on 35mm full frame, or landscape on a ½ frame. You can’t turn the camera through 90 degrees, give me a break!
If you want to shot ½ frame get yourself one of the old Olympus Pen series of cameras, Canon and Konica also used to produce them as well. They are all much better that the Kodak one you have.
Don’t go near 110 cartridges they were a gimmick when they were first released and they still are!

Sad about the Pentax. I would have bought it if not for the half frame.

Everything we've heard from Pentax, this is just the start of the journey. So whilst this one might not be for you, we're sure there'll be other iterations in future 😊
