I am a hobbyist mechanic with no formal training, I am sharing what the work I'm doing on my cars, this is not a guide on what to do, but by all means learn from my mistakes... or prototyping, depending on your positivity.
Doing an AGU/AUQ conversion into an Exige, have been struggling with coil wiring and i think you've just saved me a fair chunk of change on looms/conversions/and plugs. Thank you man!
Fantastic video. Not using the ICM delete patch so this is a great help!!!
Nice video man thanks for sharing 🤙🏻
thank you sir!!! valuable info, time to make me a harness so i can get to work on time tomorow morning. !\
The icm trigger does not go in 1234 order to match the 1234 coil on the agu engine
Another great video...wish I had a pound for every time you said "essentially" though....😅😅👍
Thanks, and yes, I almost burned my computer and my ears when I was doing the edits.
Good stuff
Do you know which order the AGU engine triggers go?
What would be the benefit of doing this conversion, I have an Audi A4 b5 1.8t AJL and thinking about doing this but was wondering how much of an improvement it is
Reliability - I needed to replace at least one coil on mine and kept reading what a pain the ICM is so I took the opportunity to upgrade.
I de pinned my Icm and just plug them in directly from wire to wire
Ive got a passat with AEB engine so i have to follow the second diagram AEB/Porsche conversion right ? So i dont need the icm delete connector
I had to have a quick look back, but that sounds right - assuming you're doing the same as I have and cut the loom back before the ECM, you could keep it, but it'd just be extra wires - I cut out a lot for neatness.
@@PawnSacrifice thank you! There are some conversion kits out there on ebay with icm delete connector and 3 to 4 pin connectors for the coils - as they say no wire cutting only plug and play.. do you think thats reliable
@@plamenspasov6723 no idea, all I can say is I didn't want too much wiring in the engine bay as there's a lot of slack with the VW/Audi loom already. But if you're not happy cutting and crimping, that could be the way to go.
@@PawnSacrifice thank you very much! Learned a lot of stuff from u mate, cheers
So 1 go to 4 3 go to 2
For the setup I had I just followed the diagram at around the 15min mark - it's been so long now (need to get in and sort the last bits).
