The wires on some of the plug and play connectors for the coil packs were exposed, they were frayed, they were cracked etc. So I hard wired them cuz I kept getting misfires in cylinder 4 and 5. So I hardwired just those. I also hard wired the ecm cuz one wasn't working and I didn't want to buy another one. I have had 0(zero) misfires since doing that. I also had an injector problem on cylinder 4, the clip wasn't holding right so the adapter kept coming loose, I corrected that also! Car runs amazing, but a new issue has arose!
@@RCIV1776 so if I got the resistors and the connectors all worked as they should. I won’t have to cut and wire them. And I can use 2.0t coils with no tuning? As well as fix misfire Issues down the road? I’m new the 2.7t very familiar with vw and audi
@@justinfewster9807 yes sir, no tune needed! Same thing goes for the B5 A4 vehicles! If you got everything and it all works then your good. I had a used kit from someone thats why I had trouble with it. Im sure if you bought new, you wouldn't have that issue. If you still did have misfire issues. It would either be injectors, fueling, maf, vac leak etc. So just keep that in mind.
@@justinfewster9807 down the road you might have issues with the kit. Wires tend to get brittle and brake, then you get exposed wires, sometimes the connectors crack Yada Yada Yada. So I just went ahead and hardwired everything. I still need to hardwire my fuel pump and add a relay for more flow when I got stage 3!
@@RCIV1776 I have the oem coils does it still work with it or do I have to upgrade it. My icm keeps on going bad so I’m looking on different ways to fix that problem
@@nabrayan6843 can delete the icm and NOT upgrade the coils. The icm is for factory coils. If you do get coils, i personally would get them from FCP Euro. They have a lifetime warranty! So if they go bad just send em off and they send you new ones. I get my stuff from there!
Less things to fail in the ignition system. Also it's a preference. I preferred to update my system, so I don't have to worry about them. Update to the 2.0t/r8 coils.
@@RCIV1776 all I got right now is a bank 2 sensor 1 code and I just replaced all the plugs and coils, but still having the slight intermidiate misfire when getting into high boost, you think the o2 could be throwing it off? Just got one ordered up. Other then that not a single other code
