- Sonic 2 Alternate is a hypothetical soundtrack for if I made Sonic 2's music. I love Leila Wilson's fanmade one, so I wanted to do one as well.
Super Theme. Don't have much to say again. It was just kinda stretched out in the making (development but i don't want to sound smart) 'till i finished it one day in a class. Didn't spend too much time in animation either.
did you know that sonic 2's original super theme has the title screen motif? it may not be noticable on first listen, but the main rhythm is the same as the title one. and also just generally similar.
there are leitmotifs here, too

would like to keep this note that i have a lot of personal leitmotifs that are just kinda thrown around in songs i make. so if you hear them, maybe don't connect them to this ost when they're in almost every song.

True. Furthermore, the original Super Sonic theme in Sonic 2 not only has the rhythmic motif of the title screen, but also uses a part from the special stage music in that game. It also uses the same rhythm as the invincibility music, which is really clever because it's like telling a mini story with the song.
It starts off with the special stage motif, reminding you of how you obtained Super Sonic, and then goes into the title screen / invincibility motif which is kinda like telling you, look how far you've come since the start, now you're undefeatable! It's a very clever track all around.
Now the special stage part, I didn't recognize. That's actually even more clever.

imo this feels like less of a "Super Sonic theme for Sonic 2" and more of a "if Hyper Sonic had his own theme in S3&K instead of reusing the Super theme" type of song
aside from that, this is still a REALLY damn cool & catchy composition, I love it
I wanted it to feel more powerful since it's Sonic's first time using the power of the Chaos Emeralds. Who knows how much is going through his body?...

This is a pretty good super theme! Its not too frantic but not too tame, its just right. Especially that build up at the start!
