Sketching from the archives 🌷 Walking amongst the Roses | 001

This is a new Art series that I'm really excited about! I'm going to dig up all of my old sketchbooks and look through them to find old abandoned ideas so I can finally turn them into finished paintings. I'm calling this series Sketching from the archives, because I think I might also use some old second hand books as reference in the future, not only my sketchbooks. Also I think that it sounds pretty neat 😊
I don't know about you guys but over the 6 years that I've been an illustrator, I've finished quite a lot of sketchbook. And these sketchbooks are filled with lot's of good ideas that I've never fully explored! It's a shame to just let all these ideas go to waste, never to be seen again in my pile of old drawings. So let's put those sketches to use and do some finished painting!
So why sit at my desk and stare at the blank page why I have all these good ideas that are mine to use right here in my old sketchbooks?
I think this first edition of this video series turned out very well. If I'm 100% honest I must say I still like the original sketch of the dog sniffing the flowers more than the big piece. But the bigger piece is more suitable to turn into products. And even though I like it a little bit less, I still think it turned out really nice :)
