This was an online concert, not sure where is was streamed from but there was no audience.
"Take over the World" is one saying that many Maidiacs gravitate towards because they sprinkle that line into quite a few of their songs. The big line we tend to get from the song Manners is, "Our Rock never dies Ever... Forever!!"
Because of the Pandemic, Band-Maid offered a few live performances online. It all started when they posted a cell phone shot video of their Knotfest setlist. The quality of the video is not the greatest but the Maid's spirit, tenacity and integrity shined through. The "Day of Maid" online "serving" was the third, I believe. The latest online serving was the Acoustic Christmas, also very cool.
“Misa’s bass is like a warm bath” Nice!
'Take over the world' comes from Miku years ago. When she was asked what her hopes were for the band she replied 'World Domination'. It has been a theme ever since. World Domination tour and album of the same name featuring the song 'Domination' which is about them taking over the world. The theme is referenced often in interviews and songs such as Manners and is on the labels attached to their merchandise.
Misa has probably been influenced by many bassists, but her primary influence is the bass goddess Paz Lenchantin currently of the Pixies. She was also a member of A Perfect Circle. To me, Misa and Paz have a very similar look with a slender build, long dark hair and a lot of movement on stage. The biggest similarity is they both play in their bare feet. Oh, and they are both very, very good bassists.
This was online and streamed due to their "World Domination tour" being brought to an abrupt end due to covid. You only have MV or this performance to check out these songs from their latest album. This is live and that's cool, but I miss the audience... they really excel in front of a crowd.
Grate reaction!! MISA rules!!!!
MISA is influenced by all the greats. Sure there's some Steve Harris there, especially speed wise. Then again Steve is a double fingerer, while Misa mostly uses a pick alternated with slap and pop within the same song. She finger plucks, but when she does, the pick gets put down and it's for the whole song, again with some slap & pop of course...She's created a style all of her own really.
Misa! Misa!! Misa! The barefoot assassin is a whiskey drinking bass abusing musical genius! I have no favorite Maid. I believe they have a symbiotic relationship that makes them all better. But if there is one maid that should be turned into a anime character. It's Misa. PO!😊😎🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@doobiejones9388 It's not about favorite Maid, they're all great, just talk'n about that bass!
@@nem447 PO😊
This song by band maid sounds pretty Cool John
World Domination or Domination is an ongoing thing often used by them. If you watch the "Manners" orginal Video you can see Miku at a bird cage with the world inside. And in the Band-Maiko video, "Secret Maiko Lips" the writing from Miku at the beginning means also domination. So you see, this is not coming from the Manners song it is much older.
Manners is the song I listen to most, it's just so damn groovy. There most recent album, Unseen World is where both of these tracks come from and it's filled with some of their more controlled chaos songs, with Black Hole being the most nuts. I also think No God and Afterlife are in that more intense vein and you'd probably really enjoy them. Going back to a previous album, Blooming sounds like it belongs in this group of songs to me. It's a ton of fun to listen to. Any of those would be a good listen.
This is from an live online streaming for the fans- 'Day of Maid' as it said, during lockdown so no audience.
Regarding Black Hole Konami came to Akane and asked her what the highest BPM that she had drummed to. They then bumped it up a bit because Akane wanted a challenge! Also keep a close eye on Saiki's eyes!!
This is one of several online concerts they did during covid so there fans could still see them live. Another is "Dice" and "Different". There was no audience.
There first concert tour was The World Domination Tour.
MISA and Akane are awesome in these, and the vocals are super fun. My only complaint is that Kanami's guitar is buried in the mix much of the time. Same in the other videos from this live stream. Definitely gives the songs a warm feel but I think the MVs are mixed better. Well, Miku's parts do come through better in the live mixes. Check out Blooming MV.
As astute musicians such as yourself have noted the bass and drums, the mics are mixed rather hot. Michael Myers and Jimmy Page agree that Band-Maid is an awesome band!!
I think taking over the world with kick ass rock music was always Miku's plan, she had it all planed out. Came up with the whole idea, recruited members, and in her plan she was a guitar player even tho she never played guitar. But she made it happen and they are getting up there every year.
Both songs are Bass songs. This band is treating the bass equaly to all other instruments and I cannot remenber a band who does this also. Sure some bands also give now their bass player also more time to shine, but not the same as Band-Maid. And I don't understand why not. When I watch the Nemophila videos, I would like Haraguchi-san also to get more moments to show what she is able to do, she is also an amazing bass player. Let's hope more bands go this direction.
As to Steve Harris, yes he is an icon. But I really don't like such comparisons, Steve is Steve and Misa is MISA, MISA, MISA! 😄😄😄👍
Have you caught Wave Potter's isolated tracks from Manners? MISA's workload is nuts...like the bass track from a much faster song 💪🎸🤟🤟🤟
Heavy bass as a featured instrument; Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Rush, The Police, and Primus off the top of my head. A lot of bands do that. I love Misa in Band Maid, but they're reinventing the wheel.
@@ProjectEllsworthReacts I don't think its about reinventing the wheel...more about who is keeping the wagon rolling and entertaining us right now. I think the Maids are original and I'd be just as excited to see them live as I was for both Rush concerts I attended 🤟🤟
😊😊😊😊😎🤘
I suspect we will soon see a new generation of bass players who cite MISA as a major influence. At least I hope so! MISA's bass playing is excellent and combined with Kanami's songwriting combining intricate patterns with really solid basics, the result is pure ear candy for a bass lover.
I have no doubt that there is an army of young girls out there learning the bass right now. Of course there is. Misa's fantastic.
Remember that Thrill was EARLY, and they didn't write it. Their newer stuff is all them and you can clearly see the difference. Thrill is still a great song, but their newer stuff is just so much better. As for Misa. you hear Iron Maiden (saw them in '83, it was AMAZING, but I digress), when I hear Misa, I hear Close To The Edge era Chris Squire. Both very similar.
And in between...3 solid rock albums and a Maiko mini-album all self-written.The step up to the UW era is epic...but it doesn't diminish the great back-catalogue.
As someone has already said Misa main influence is Paz Lenchantin. The idea that Steve Harris is an influence is a bit way out in my opinion. 1. Misa primarily uses a pick/ slap (she has used fingers on one or two songs) 2. Misa uses Black Cloud bass's Steve uses Fender 2. Misa is more groove oriented whereas Steve is galloping. She has said in interviews she loves grunge music Smashing Pumkins etc. But I get how you would thing the bass line on Black Hole is Iron Maiden like but to me it is just frenetic octave jumps and slides and made to sound like a imploding mass which is what Kanami wants you to feel, I for one think she got that across masterfully. Po !
WARNING! It's bad MANNERS to stop listening to Band-Maid because you'll feel starved for musical excellence and joy and fall into a BLACK HOLE of emptiness... probably! 😵 Thx, John! btw - Was this a rebroadcast?
Yes. That is shown in the video twice in the first 30 seconds of the video that this is a reupload. I'm transitioning all of my reactions from my Horror channel over to this reaction channel.
If you want to venture further down the Japanese rabbit hole you should check out Maximum the Hormone. Songs like A.L.I.E.N or Maximum the Hormone II will showcase their 5 styles in 1 song for you,
Not really a fan of Maximum the Hormone. I may revisit them at some point.
Miku's backing vocals gives this songs much dynamics she's like John frusciante of Redhotchillipeppers.
Why would you keep a small screen of the band and a large screen of you slurping coffee and rubbing your face??@#$%$???
Maybe just a private screening for you, scumbag. Go crawl back under your rock you piece of shit. Put down the Mountain Dew, let go or your dick, get out of your mom's basement and try and add something productive to society. Keyboard tough-guy. I won't apologize for being authentic, unlike your inflatable girlfriend that you bought on Amazon bacuase you wouldn't know what to do with an actual living, breathing woman. OK, I'm done insulting you. I'll leave the rest up to you. Look inside yourself and just do better. If you ever decide to create content, let me know and maybe I'll swing by and find some shit that I don't like about YOU and do my best to point them out for ya'. Well.... no I won't, because I'm not a piece of shit and have far better things to do with my time, of which I have already wasted too much of that on you. Have an amazing day, with focus and work, your life will get better.
