- My Grandparents visited Tombstone, Arizona in 1971. My Grandma sent an OK Corral postcard home to my father during their visit to Tombstone. Today is my first time visiting Tombstone and I just had to bring that postcard with me. I have always dreamed about visiting the Old West and visiting Tombstone, Wyatt Earp’s house, and the OK Corral. With this postcard in hand, I’m tracking down the spots my Grandparents visited on their very first visit to Tombstone that day while crossing off another item on my bucket list! There is much ahead!

How many times can I say we have had the best day ever? This day was so wonderful and I’m beyond honored to have had the pleasure to share it with you. I watch the movie Tombstone almost every week! I loved seeing the gunfight! I can;t believe Wyatt Earp's house is for sale! You should buy it! I loved the story about your grandparents. You channeled Clark Griswold! Howdy, cowboy! LOL! One of my favorite quotes of Earp's is:“You gonna do somethin' or just stand there and bleed?”

Jay, its a small world we live in...The Saloon theater (you peeked in the door) Paul Bloom is an actor there....you may remember him from your visit to Kirby Farms in Williston FL...(he is from Jacksonville and used to be a cowboy/outlaw during the 6 Gun reunion there...another cowboy/outlaw from Kirby Farms works at the Old Tombstone theme park. Greg Hugo...Great guy...he also drives the trolley for Old Tombstone...if you are still in town, stop by and ask for Greg Hugo at OldTombstone... and Paul Bloom at the Saloon Theater...they would be thrilled to see ya!!

My grand mother was born in tombstone AR. So it was a good memory as a kid going there. She left when she was 16.
The land has her childhood home I can remember where it was.

I was in Tombstone in January 2012. We stayed there for 2 weeks. Still didn't get to see everything. It was awesome. Went down in the mines, place with the rose tree, went on a stage coach ride, seen the cemetery, and so much more. The food there was fantastic. I'd love to visit it one more time.

I enjoyed your video. I was actually doing a search for a 1976 Tombstone H/S year book when I found your video. I moved to Tombstone with my parents when I was 8 in 1965. They opened a restaurant across the street, and down a couple doors from the Birdcage. By the time you saw it that business had been altered, and split into two businesses. Anyway your video brought back so many memories thank you. Oh, after years in the Phoenix area, I moved ten years ago to eastern Iowa. Thanks again .

This is one of my favorites that you’ve done! It was sweet that you had sentimental ties there. I feel the same way. I went to Tombstone every year from age 1 until I was in high school. I only have one photo of it though (my family didn’t take a lot of pictures) so this was seriously cool to watch. It brought back a flood of memories. Thanks for the good content!

I’m actually related to Wyatt Earp. I’m related to his mother, Virginia Ann Cooksey (Earp). He would be my great, great, great, great cousin. Tombstone is actually on my bucket list to visit. It’s actually on my list to walk the streets that my bloodline walked. 🤠🇺🇸

I was there just six hours ago. Rode a stagecoach, watched the Diorama, walked the OK Corral with my boys. 👍
So glad this video popped up on my timeline. First-time viewer and it was great to see Tombstone. The last time I was there the streets were open and I rode my motorcycle down the street. Loved the emotional journey you went on, so touching. If you all are ever in Southern Nevada look me up, it would be fun to show you all some of the sights here.

Years back I was a member of an 1880’s reenactment group and we performed there every Labor Day weekend. It was a pretty good time and my late husband and I used to enjoy ourselves. We stayed in costume from our arrival to the last day. It’s weird to think that our pictures ended up all over the world from tourists asking if we pull pose for a photo. This brought back so many memories!
You should take a ride in that stagecoach. You won’t believe how bad your lower back will ache from those things!! Imagine ladies in long skirts, French-heeled shoes and a bustle managed! The “romance” of the Old West will go right out the window! 😁
The show we put on of the famous gunfight was……I have to say, better. The current staging area has been reduced quite a bit. It’s too bad. Tombstone is a small town that rolls up the sidewalks around 7pm and nothing else much goes on. But the ambiance can’t be beat!

This was cool 😎 to see. I'd like to go to Tombstone sometime. I remember Adam having a Sarsaparilla at Knotts Berry Farms his channel. You should get a Birch Beer next time you're in PA. It's different than a Root Beer. I'm glad you had a great time there with Kris.
Hi Jay & Cris. As I only found your channel a year ago so just now seeing your older stuff, but wanted to say glad you got to see Tombstone. As a Tucson, AZ native I remember going there a lot. One thing not known to a lot of tourists after leaving where at travel a few mile further and can visit "Boot Hill Cemetary" the last stop for some. Also if like westerns visit Old Tucson Studios where old westerns were filmed and some newer ones like "Three Amigos". The mine elevator you saw if want to experience it, go to Goldfield Ghost Town just east of Mesa, AZ as they have tour that takes you down in it on a mine tour. This one check schedule before going as not done everyday nor all day.
This place was right up your alley to begin with, even more so with the sentimental aspect. Looks like you two had a blast! If you're still in the area I recommend checking out Old Tucson Studios where a lot of films were shot at. There's also the Tubac Golf Resort nearby that was the filming location for Tin Cup. I'll link my video from our trip. We had a lot of fun in Tombstone too but unfortunately didn't have as much time there as we hoped. Stinks everything shuts down around 5 o'clock. Been to Tombstone a few times ,but never bothered with the show . Spent time in places the tourist don't go . Off the beaten path is my way to visit historical areas . 🙂
Back in 2003, I had the opportunity to do some catering to the cast of Little House on the Prarie and other movie stars of the past when Tombstone hosted Western film days. They were so nice despite it seemed like 100° and one small fan in the room they were staying in waiting before their meet and greet.

Wow Jay, this is also a very sentimental place for me as well my father and I went there about 10 years ago. Our trip that we took across country from Florida and we went to the OK corral and saw the graveyard and we also went to the movie studios that are not too far from there as well where they shot a lot of the movies that were westerns. It was very cool to reminisce through your video, thank you

I was there many years ago with my now husband. Think they’ve upgraded the gunfight show. By the way we ran out of time, since we were staying in Tucson near relatives and this was a brief day trip but my uncle said that Bisbee just south of Tombstone is also a great little town to visit. Something for a future trip!

This is really cool vlog. Love to see you so excited about finally getting to go to the place your Grandparents went. That is how I felt the first time going to Knotts. My parents had went to Knotts in 1954 an as a kid I use to dream about going there. I still got the old post cards in my collection. To bad they didn't sell Coke anymore.

Excellent . I lived in Yuma for a while never made it two tombstone what a shame. So glad you went enjoyed the video however in my opinion the greatest gun fight ever was in inglles Oklahoma. it lasted over 26 minutes compared to 30 seconds in Tucson. With some of the most colorful outlaws and law Men that ever saddle a horse or strapped on a six shooter.or carry a rifle I asked you take a look at Ingles Oklahoma shootout and compare it to tombstone not to take anything away from the great battle that happened at tombstone and leave a message with your side by side comparison happy trails to all those
