I made moon cakes a few years ago from scratch. Took like 3 days and were delicious. Never thought to make them with oreos...now it's all I want to eat lol
Got to know so much about mooncakes and the Harvest Festival of China! Thank you so much for another informative video! Also the mooncakes you made are really scrumptious 😋❤ Where do you live now? Did you ever try Indian food?😊
@@TriggTube Thanks! They look really good, and I can't wait for a full video I can follow along with. I really enjoy your shorts and I really love baking and making desserts!
Isn’t the egg yolk inside the cake supposed to represent the moon, not the general shape of the cake since some are square? With that said, it’s fun doing an additional ball made from the cookie outer layer- just roll it (sometimes I freeze it to keep its shape), wrap the filling around it and roll into a ball, then I add a thin layer of the cookie crumb/paste to the outside and roll it into a ball then press it.
But also... Oreo Mooncakes Two ingredients. Oreos and Milk. Choose your favorite Oreos. I would NOT recommend the lemon, but I did like having two colors of dough for the fun patterns. 1. Separate the Oreos into cookies and cream, and then blend the cookies into a powder. SLOWLY add milk until the powder just starts to come together. For the single stuf oreos, this was 100g of milk for the approx 300g of cookies, but for the double stuf lemon oreos, it was closer to 70g for approx 200g of cookies. Make little balls that are each ⅓ of the total weight of your final mooncake. I used 100g molds, so my mooncakes were made with 2x 33g balls of cookie and 1x 33g ball of cream. It doesn't HAVE to be exact, just make sure the dough covers the filling. Put the cream balls in the freezer for 30 minutes before covering it with cookie dough, then put the filled balls in the fridge for 1 hour before molding them. Lightly grease the mold, then press and shape the cakes. After they are out of the mold, I put the finished mooncakes in the freezer, because just like oreos… they are super tasty frozen.
Bro in the description “do NOT recommend lemon” so use vanilla and other thing, bro Started talking Chinese. POV:bskfbfkclcpgnwwbkldnfbfncofkej I am not making fun of his Chinese, I’m just saying that he is better at writing and talking Chinese that my 2 brain celled brain.😂
Oreo mooncakes have actually been popular in Asia for years now. Rephrased: "A person taking the time and energy to learn something from another culture in order to share it with others and spread understanding while giving context and credit to the culture of origin" (I lived in China for several years, learned the language, spent every day working and spending time with my Chinese friends, and formed a deep relationship with the country. Personally, I have a closer relationship with China than Italy in every way other than my last name and the color of my skin.) Honest question: Would you truly prefer a world when cultures only consumed and produced information about themselves?
@@TriggTube You really ate them up! Not being sarcastic, just genuinely appreciative of a person standing up for enjoying and admiring different cultures other than their own. 👍

@@TriggTube Curious, how long have you traveled/ been traveling around studying recipes?
Now I understand why individual mooncakes are like 600 calories per serving
Yeah. DENSE!
As much as this looks good, my mind keeps repeating “it’s going to take a LOT of Oreos”
Oh yeah. It's about a stack per mooncake. Eat responsibly.
@@TriggTube I bet a red velvet Oreo that it took a whole row of Oreos for it
@@TriggTubethough did you use a whole pack of Oreos or you used some of them?

Oreo should make those for New Year's
No, I thought this was gonna be like $1000 but bro just made it out of Oreos
You said not to use the lemon but what about the golden Oreos? They’re vanilla and should pair well with the chocolate ones.

They use duck eggs because there's supposed to be a small sphere inside the filling too.
I tried a mooncake once and it was one of the most disgusting things I've ever tasted
