This is the Whitechapel I love. The groovy chuggy heaviness just scratches the right itch. I hope they explore the Possession type outro some on this record too. That outro is just perfection. Phil’s switches between high and low are something else. I think the critique that breakdowns get is a bit unwarranted. They’re all nuanced in their own way. Like I could say clean vocals in metalcore all just sound the same (which is my biased opinion because I’m not into it at all) but realistically that wouldn’t be fair to those artists because I know if I was into it I’d be able to find nuance and differences from song to song. It’s all just subjective, but that’s just my two cents.
i understand you like the groovy aspect in music cause it's very important, that's why you would LOVE visceral retch, it felt like a refreshing song, heavy asf but more focused on phil rather than a wall of sound hope u check it out :))
Honestly it seems if you weren’t around for the late 2000’s early 2010’s deathcore with suicide silence, Whitechapel, Chelsea grin and so forth it’s much harder to get into it now. Deathcore has and always will be as you put it an abrasive in your face type of music, and now days the likes of the plot in you, sleep token, BMTH (I love all of the above) seem to be the preferred sound because it is more centred around a melody and truthfully has some pacing to it where as deathcore says 200 bpm? Yeah sure and just goes with it. Love the content, keep it up
i personally love deathcore and only got into it a bit over a year ago. my metal journey started with BMTH around 4 years ago, but i only really got into it around 2.5 years ago. BMTH definitely played a part in getting me into deathcore because i listened to part of pray for plagues fairly early on, and i was terrified, but also intrigued, so i kind of wanted to like it, but i just took it fairly slow, and then listened to it maybe a year ago after i got into more modern deathcore. crystal lake was a big part of why i'm into deathcore now because they're kind of in between metalcore and deathcore i think, so it got my spotify algorithm to start suggesting bands like brand of sacrifice, and i heard a high scream in one of their songs which reminded me of the time i listened to pray for plagues, and i got really excited lmao sorry for the long paragraph lmao, i just kept on typing 😭
I kind of get what you mean about the lyrics, that’s why I like to read along with them as the song plays. I think if you do that you’ll find you can actually understand a lot of what he’s saying, even in the more crazy parts. It definitely makes it more enjoyable for me and now that I know the lyrics I can pick it up as he’s delivering them no problem.
I love that they went full on good old times. They are one of the few bands that said "WE GOING BACK" and didnt dissapoint. Suck it haters of The Valley and Kin that said they went soft or soldout, suck it.
dude pls dig into some black metal man if you get into it theres so much fucking good music to find! if youre interested i could name some good bm starter bands
Im gonna miss the sound they did for Kin, thats like an actual metal masterpiece album with so much versatility, i understand and get that it was time for them to go back to their old school sound but yea still… unless this new album is gonna do a bit of the same? 👀 well see until then i guess. I also think if you revisit the Kin album you would probably like it a bit more then you did back then, i think you listened to that one before you discovered FFAA as well
Kin is a great album. But this is the type of intensity that whitechapel was known for.(Albums like this is exile and somatic defilement)So I'm glad that they went back to their roots.Don't get me wrong.I love both kin and the valley.
Best song I’ve heard in years. Delighted Whitechapel are back to their pure Deathcore sound, the kings have returned.
They've declared that they're making their heaviest album to date. They're on the right track.

Lyrically and musically it's terrifying and I love it

What lights you want bb? Mommy’s got you.
Mummy rattening 🥵

The first bit of the song is backwards English, so fucking cool
I enjoy the song and i enjoyed the reaction!
This is Trueunderdawgs background track. Is it just a song people can just use in their background without getting copyright struck?

This song would be so much better without blast beats. Overall the bouncy sections are amazing
Hi folk
The backward words sound so menacing
Phil =goat
The other song is a better one imo
Wish they have stayed with Kin style, unlistenable for me. Kin is one of my favorite metal albums ever.

I’m thinking their gonna do another cycle of albums so two heavy as balls one then back to maybe a mix in a few years
