As a dental student almost graduated, I've found such good information not found all those years in dental school, unfortunately. And that comes from someone always paying attention and doing the little extra researches etc. What I liked on your videos particularly is the way you explain things in such an easy way to understand. The term "reduction" makes only sense after your videos. They always used the word in university but never took the time to explain what is was. Many thanks and appreciation. Keep on the good work doc! Hope to work with you in the future :)

Dr. Priya, have you heard of The Healthy Start? Our office is currently learning about screening young children and correcting a lot of these conditions that you are seeing in adults while they are growing and developing. It encourages habit corrections, specifically tongue posture, mouth breathing, and therefore promotes proper facial development that leads to proper arch development. We are starting to screen our young patients for signs of sleep disordered breathing and discuss some signs and symptoms the children may be having such as Difficulty in school, bed wetting, low energy, trouble sleeping, irritability, speech problems, and the list goes on and on. I just wanted to say that your videos are packed with such useful information and you do an excellent job of explaining it as well. I love the connection you made about the slipped disc being potentially out of place as a consequence of the lack of downward and forward development of the mandible and therefore the condyle. Great job!

As someone who has been experiencing neck pain and some TMJ like symptoms for over a year, I finally went to the dentist and got a custom bite guard. It wasn't cheap, but I was surprised at how sophisticated the technology is. It's really high quality, holds up well, and helps distribute the pressure in the appropriate areas to minimize the force of the clenching. I have a lot less sleep anxiety now cause I know that even if I am clenching or grinding while I'm sleeping, the bite guard will do it's trick and help minimize any aggravation. Been using it almost every night for the past couple months and it's definitely helping my symptoms and I feel a lot better now.

I wish I found your channel earlier Dr. Thank you for this valuable life changing information. I been a mouth breather since birth I feel like(29 now) and I been a long distance runner my whole life...I always breath through the mouth and exhale since it was easier for me but it's it's much harder to do nose breathing while running, where if I do it, it slows me down and I get tired faster....any advice for me on this?

Thanks so much for all of your great information. After watching a few of your videos and hearing about how if you are unable to breathe thru your nose an ENT would be a good option. My question to you is this as I'm a little confused. I've been a mouth breather all of my life and am a 63 yr old female. I've been to see an ENT and have been diagnosed with a deviated septum. Could my mouth breathing have caused the deviated septum? If so, could seeing a Myofunctional therapist and working on my tongue posture as well head and neck posture alleviate the need for the surgery related to my deviated septum?

Hi Priya. I have had jaw problems ever since I was young and I used to get a lot of pain. The last couple years the pain has basically gone away, but I believe this is because it has actually gotten worse and I am passed the pain stage. I am now 18 and I have difficulty controlling the right side of my Jaw when talking, eating, etc. When I put my fingers on the condyle(bone that moves down when you open your jaw I believe) the right side is almost non existent. You can feel it move slightly, but it's nothing like the left side where you really feel the knob. Is this tmj without reduction or could it be a partial jaw dislocation that I have been living with for a few years? The second option doesent seem likely to me, but I don't have any other explanation as to why the actual bone/condyle isn't as prominent on the right side?
Any help would be greatly appreciated thankyou.
