About:
Jason and Lorraine. In 2016 we sold most of our belongings and left the city in southern California to start a small homestead in the mountains of North Carolina. We left the city in search for a more minimal and intentional life. We became passionate about growing our own food and knowing what exactly is in our food after I (Jason) became diagnosed with cancer. Now 8 years in remission we as a family are on a journey to live our passions.
We document our life on RUclips videos to inspire others to get out of their comfort zone and not be afraid of change. We started our own online general store where we have available the things we make and use in real life. Thank you for following us on this incredible life changing journey!
Another great video! Love the music so relaxing! Glad you went at your pace and not Justin’s. Have a good weekend!💕
It's looking great! Really love the extra reinforcement you did.
Jason the greenhouse is coming together nicely. Great job. Also love the music on the video. Have a blessed day.
Yeah! The Ruff is up! I Love It! I Want It! I Gotta Have It! It is truly beautiful! Jason you do such an excellent job. You take such great care and do everything perfect! The Rhodes are very lucky people to have you as their friends!
You do absolutely amazing work Jason! Looks great! 🌼
A beautiful work of art!🙏❤️🙏
You are a fine craftsman. Looks great!
Jason you are so cute!!! Perfect "ballet" music for the build. Love your sense of humor!!
This is awesome. I have been wanting to build this plan but with that plastic. Thank you so much!
Looks great! You did an awesome job!
nice Job that greenhouse will last years!
Lumnah Acres thanks! I appreciate that!
Looks great! Love your videos. Thank you.

i think you did a fantastic job on the green house hugssss from Ontario Canada
Looking very well made!
Great work Jason. We are on track to build a greeenjouse this fall. Not so grand but this gives us lots of ideas.
Looks great 👍
Thanks for sharing. Lovely build!
Nice build and good music accompaniment.
This is really nice! Thanks for sharing.
Very nice Jason!
Looks so good!
Great job! Nice touch!
Looking really good.
Great job. I love it
You are doing a Fantastic Job Jason! I Love the design.
Outstanding job 👌🏻
Looks amazing x
Nice job. I built my porch roof with TuffTex (the darker version). Was considering building a greenhouse with it next. 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing the build. I'm thinking that a greenhouse would make more productive by extending the growing season. You must be freezing in those cooler temps. As kids we thought it strange that there was half an inch of ice on the puddle in the school yard.
Hi...... Jason I love your video, thank you for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 🐔🐓🐥🌱🎥👍👍👍
Nice job! Thanks!
You do a fantastic job. Thank You for sharing your journey.
~Mama🐻~
thank you!
Looks good. Sounds like you have a cold.
👍👍👍👍❤️💜💚💗 great video, as usual.
I always love watching you build something. I think you need a dog and a cat too!
I really like the greenhouse. You have a sweet family
thank you
Niceeeee 👍👍☘☘😍😍
Hey Jason, guess you don't have time to answer comments. We're building ours similarly excepting treated baseplate with hurricane tie downs along corners, screen storm door $109 vs louver vent, an electric fan louver vent at opposite end, glued plywood gussets (cheaper,), painting the wood due to moisture over time, a metal ridge cap, and ours is fully Tufted clear panels throughout for added light at lower levels for two tier shelving, fully plumbed and electrified, $1500 plus tax. Here in Spokane, Washington. Like your hat, great smile cheers.
Greenhouse is looking great! I need you to build me one like that
WOW FANTASTIC IDEA 🤔 HERE
I LIKE THIS SO MUCH BETTER THEN
[ PVC HOOPS & PLASTIC ] 😏 .......
( KNUCKLE👊🏽BUMP ) Sow The Land.....
I was going to build a cattle panel greenhouse. But, you've got me rethinking that....
Can't believe it has been 3 months since I watched you build this at Justin's place.
Great work! Would you provide an estimate for the materials. Will this last longer than the poly covered greenhouse? I’ve thought about this style because I think it looks better and I plan a outside shower in same style. Thanks
Jason, how did you finish the roof peak was not able to see it in the video.
Great job as usual.
Enjoy The Day
Did you make those boards that the plastic roofing set it or did you buy them somewhere? If so, where can I get some of those?
Can up send an updated picture or thoughts on how your green house is doing? I’m getting ready to install pvc roofing on mine and am not sure if I should put the wiggle board on for the screws thanks
I built this greenhouse recently, and like you, I added 4 more feet to it. I'm having issues with leaking at the roof joints where the 12 foot and 4 foot polycarb panels join. Despite overlapping I can't seem to find a good solution. I bought some of the wider, strong, greenhouse plastic repair tape and applied it over the joint but to no avail. What did you do about the leak at the panel overlaps? Or is it not significant enough to worry about. I can picture the rafter eventually rotting out. Thanks.
suggestion: make the lower bench shelves removable. just in case anything gets dropped down, in between etc,
What is the name of the pieces of wood you used to fasten onto the 2x4s between the corrugated plastic? Am looking to do something similar but can’t seem to find these handy things
Horizontal Closure Strips, Lowe's, The Home Depot, Most lumber yards and hardware stores....
**BOA TARDE AMIGO E FAMÍLIA E UM BOA TRABALHO E MUITAS SAÚDE**
Very "NICE" How can I get a set of plans? Love following you and your family. If I was only 20 years younger!!!!
Did you make up or get the plans from anywhere? I want to build one of these.
Did you wind up having standing water on the roof with your panels going horizontal?
How do you stop the seams from leaking?
The worst thing I did for my greenhouse was put clear plastic. Everything baked. But I'm in Florida. Maybe it will work up in the mountains.
How have these panels held up to the sun and the wind?
We are in the process of building our greenhouse and we are also modifying Ana white plans, your videos helped us so much! Where are you buying your polycarbonate panels?
Lowes, thanks!
How is that Tuftex holding up after 4 years?
Looking great Jason. I’ll be building a greenhouse this summer. Are the tufftex panels better than plastic?
Billy Woods work the same and way more durable. You won’t have to replace them for years and years.
Awesome thanks
Are those wood pieces that you're attaching the paneling to prefabricated or did you cut that yourself?
I am not him but I can answer that they are purchased at the same place you buy the panels probably got them from Lowes.
@@jrob8764 That's what I was thinking but I wasn't sure. I'm thinking of using those for our own greenhouse build. Thanks!😀
You didn’t show the roof enclosure!
It would take like 5 years worth of food for that thing to pay itself off
Where did you buy the wood strips for the corrugation?
Virginia Reid local hardware store
Sow the Land Thank you.
Roo FF :)
How did you cap the roof peak?
this is one video of a series I did on this build. I show it on the final video. thanks
@@SowtheLand - I watched that video this morning. I wrote too soon! ☺
I've called it a roof (rūf) not ruff.
Oh, so this isn’t your build. You’re at the Rhoad’s homestead.
Nice work, are you going to make one for your homestead too?
I thought the woman i married agreed but now i find shes a city dweller at heart now mine is breaking
:
This stuff is as brittle as a saltine cracker after 6 months in the GA sun. A pinecone punches a hole in it. Avoid it!
So disappointing. You make such good videos but they are way too short. 15mins is about ideal. I always come away feeling shortchanged and wanting to see more.
Jeff Freeman ideal for who? Well, i am glad you are wanting more at least!
15mins tends to be most peoples average. @@SowtheLandPlease take it as nothing more than a complement.
Why do all these RUclips videos for clear plastic always recommend or show the most expensive shit
Whats the point of building a $30,000 greenhouse? You could just continue to buy your food from the store...
I used to think the same way. Now I don’t depend on the store to feed me.
I've build a few of these, sold a couple, it ends up being around $1500. materials.
