BB was the most generous musician out there it seems. Always bringing on stage his disciples and letting them take centre stage. His disciples could of but had so much admiration for him that they knew never to upstage him or try as their respect for him is self evident in its sincerity. BB epitomizes to me what a great musician is (not just a great guitarist and vocalist) he was foremost a great human being. Ronnie Earl is another of that family. Both beautiful players that as Micheal Bloomfield once said about himself "play the sweet Blues". Indeed !
Love this. I grew up listening to these iconic musicians. They represent a sound that is cool and they will never be forgotten by those who love quality music.
The king will never be missed in my house.....he is still very much alive in my heart. I play the thrill is gone so often my seven month son knows and loves the song.
BB KINK, AND EXCELLENT FRIENDS, KNOW, HOW TO JAM, STRETCH, THE STRINGS LIKE NO OTHER, ONE, OF, A KIND KING, OF BLUES, MUSIC, PICS, THE BEST, OF THE BESTS, EVERY TIME, NO, MATTER, WHERE HE PLAYS, LOVES ALL, HIS SONGS, KNOWS HOW TO IMPROVISE, STRETCH IT, AND BRING, BACK , TO THE RY THEM, PLEASE, KEEP, UP, YOUR, EXCELLENT SONGS, ONE OF A KIND, PLEASE BB KING DO. SO WELL, JAMMING ON AND ON .
A generous BB King with Ronnie Earl, Anthony Geraci, Jeff Healey, Al Copley, Leon Warren, Michael Doster, Melvin Jackson, Stanley Abernathy, James Bolden, James Tomey. I believe the two drummers for most of the show are: Calep Emphrey Jr. and Tony Coleman - - and Per Hanson gets in on the drums at the end of this song. Per said he had been waiting in the wings and got in towards the end! BB also introduces Claude Nobs, the organizer of Montreux, who organized the Montreux program. He comes on with a harmonica - but doesn't stay. ~ Debbie
he waited more than 15 minutes to acknowledge all his proteges. he knew the clock was ticking. We do miss him. Generous is an understatement to the legacy he left . i agree
What a merry Christmas you had! Now that you've found out about him I bet you won't/can't forget him! Are you really young or just not into blues? If you haven't listened to any in the past, I recommend listening to some other greats ... i.e. Stevie Ray Vaughn; Buddy Guy, Albert King just to name a few. There's also a young man whose name I can't recall but if you're interested, check out Buddy Guy. This young man started playing with Buddy at about age 7 I think ... so he'll be the young Caucasian you see on stage with him alot. That's been years back, he has his own music out now. That kid could tear up a guitar at 7! And played by ear I guess because he had NO problem following or taking the lead...really worth looking up if this is your taste in music. Again, I want to say Merry Christmas! I'd still like to know how young you are to have just found out about BBK ... or if you're not young, where have you been!? I mean he's only the grandfather of blues ... Lol. And he has helped many a young artist learn the trade...(if IT can be learned). I'm old so I've been listening to blues for decades & according to the grandfather himself, it ain't something you can practice for; you hafta feel it. And Mr. King sure makes his audience feel it! R.I.P. BB King.
@@S1990G Hi S1990H, First thing, I want to apologize for length of this. Your reply came to my email so I hit reply there & wrote this back thinking it would go to your email. I just checked mail again & read that thus did not send. You're certainly welcome. I hope you enjoy the recommendations. These guys are great! Well, I should say that they "were" great. Most all of the original blues/jazz musicians have passed away... Stevie Ray Vaughan died in a helicopter crash in August, 1990 @ 35 years old. Such a tragedy. According to Wikipedia, "He was one of the most influential blues guitarist of the 1980's, described by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as 'the second coming of the blues'." I just read that the last song he sang was with Eric Clapton & a few others in concert the night of his death.. "Sweet Home Chicago" ... I'm listening now. "In Session: Albert King with Stevie Ray Vaughan" (SRV) playing one of King's songs... this would be a great one to look up to see just how fast Stevie picks up on a tune. He's awesome! This was fairly early in his career. He's a rarity for sure! Hands down the best white boy to pick up a guitar. My favorite Vaughan song is "Life Without You" ... & a very close second is "Pride and Joy". I hope you find time to at least check out the first minute or two of them but I think you'll get wrapped up in it & listen to it all. I'm not sure why I'm forcing all these details on you, I guess hoping you'd enjoy now that you've discovered this side of music. B.B. (Beale Street Blues Boy) King died in May 2015 @ 89 years old. There's too much to talk about him so I'm not even goin to try, just enter his name & play the first song that pops up...? You can't go wrong in my opinion. Same with Buddy Guy... & he's still living. Another good one is John Mayer... & Muddy Waters, Jeff Beck, John Lee Hooker...Eric Clapton.... whew! Hope I didn't wear out your eyes. The young kids name is QUINN SULLIVAN... a good video to watch would be "Blues prodigy 14 yr old guitarist jams with blues legend". Quinn was in his teens & Buddy Guy talks about his playing & how great he was at age 7. Them playing should be the next video up..."Strange Brew/Voodoo Chile..." Hope you have time to listen to a few.... I could listen to them 24/7 but actually I enjoy all genres of music. Enjoy! Cyndi
Hello @@cyndiallen8690 Thank you for taking the time to write to me. I’m checking out the list of artists you recommended and I’m very impressed, I feel like musicians back then just made masterpieces unlike the musicians today who use machines to hide the fact they have no talent. Once again thank you for recommendations, you opened a new world of music to my ears. Respect ✊🏽

Absolutely! And I'm jealous. I never had an opportunity to see him live but I keep up on RUclips. This stuff will never grow old. I'm 60 years old so I guess I've been listening to him my whole life. I love it! When I get bored or can't think of anything else to play, I automatically dial into blues. My TV stays on RUclips & I know it's played every one of this legend's songs. Also enjoy listening to him when another guitar joins in.
We certainly do miss you Mr. B.B. King
