I want to start with OMG YOU ARE F*ING AMAZING! I just made this and I was scared at first but then i took it slowly and took your tips and HOLY CRAP this is the most satisfying sew I HAVE EVER MADE! Not once did I cry or use my seam ripper for mistakes cause there was NONE 🤯lol. I LOVED LOVED LOVEDDDDD every step and I want to make 100 more!!!!!!!! I now have the 90's dress of my dreams and I owe it all to YOU 🎵🎵🎵😍
I cut out my pattern pieces last night, and I can't wait to start on my slip. It definitely looks like it'll be a staple in my closet. I love your sew alongs! Thank you!
I love this sew-along! The only thing that tends to be unclear is the strap binding "E" piece construction. In future videos it would be helpful if steps like this are done a little more visibly on camera and a little slower. Everything else is so amazing but this part doesn't tend to make sense in my brain when I do it - definitely takes me longer than any other step when I complete patterns.
Love your sew alongs, so intuitive and easy to follow. I finished my very first blazer/jacket/outerwear this week thanks to your Heather Blazer sew along (and pattern ofc)! Thank you. 🌹
Hi Lauren, where can I get the little hardware packs from? Amazon have huge packs and I will never use them all! Can’t wait to make my dress in a gorgeous viscose!
Hi. Thanks for this helpful video! 🥰 I am making this pattern in a tencel satin and I am finding that the seam of the back pieces are wrinkling and looking like it will fall oddly. Please do you have any suggestions for this? It only really seams to be an issue at the lower back/bum area, (I am 5'4). I have unpicked a few times and changed tension settings with no luck resolving this issue, so I'm guessing maybe an issue with my fitting of the pattern?
Hello! Thanks for reaching out. I am not sure I understand what is going on with your slip. You are welcome to email pictures to hello@fridaypatterncompany.com and I can try to diagnose what is going on :)
All Friday patterns have seam allowances added to them already! You should always double check the pattern you are using but most have seam allowances incorporated.
Why do you finish the side seams first before sewing the front and back pieces together? We didn’t do that for the back seam? I understand that maybe for the long version it is because of the slits but the short version… is there a reason?
Hi Lauren, You could finish the sideseams together after sewing on the short version if you want! Its just for clarity in the instructions that it is done that way for both the short and long versions. It also lays nicely with the seams pressed open and that is easier to do if you finish the seam ahead of time! Hope that helps!

Nice sew along, I just grab my pattern, I’m impatient to start it!
When cutting out a pattern should I cut it true or slightly out for a seam allowance? New sewer here🤗

@@FridayPatternCompany thanks that’s so helpful!
