You did a great job. Thank you for all this great information.💁♀️👍😀
Missed opportunity to carry some Ilford film in your pockets 🙌
Beautiful dress - love the style & fabric!
Thank you, would love to see the actual view of the stitching on the sewing machine, specially for the collar : )
I love this dress! I will be making it!!!! Thank you for the tutorial, really appreciate it!
I love your patterns! It was my birthday yesterday and finally my hints went in and waiting on The Ilford, in the post! I have some metallic like linen ready!
You're a goddess, sniff those armpits all you want!! ❤
Ooh I love sewing knits! I definitely need to make this!
I love this , can we be friends
Can’t wait to get me a printed copy. I see mine already in a purple knit ✅✅✅. The top and dress look so yummy😍
Love it!!!! I am totally going to make this!!!!
Well done love, looks a great Christmas Day super comfy wear ❤
The return of the clog. Someone pointed out to me that it's a sewing community specific trend and now I can't unsee it 😅 very nice pattern, I am sure it will to do very well. The top looks like a good basic to have in several colors and textures.
Congratulations on the new pattern 😊 the dress you are wearing looks so good on you 😊
Does anyone know where to find this fabric? ❤
weare.thefabricstoreonline.com/collections/liberty-fabric/products/liberty-excel-twill-manning-x
You could always dye the Gumby fabric(?
Thank you for this excellent tutorial.❤️
I think an elongated pogomip sounds awesome! If it doesn’t suit you crop it shorter!
Could I make this from a fleece fabric?
Yes! It looks great in fleece :) The welt pockets are a little bit more challenging on a fleece fabric but still doable!
@ Ok i found some discount fleece I’m gonna try it on. Thanks so much!
I love this set, HOWEVER, on the biggest size, the lining is too small, and keeps flipping out, so, adjstments are needed.
I just got this pattern in the mail. I was going to make a waist coat/vest, but I thought this jacket might be a little more friendly as a first garment for me to try. It's all rather unnerving, but I've now watched your videos and feel I can probably do this - even with a lining! What weight of fabric have you seen used for the jacket? I have some waxed cotton as well as some light-weight denim, two fabrics that handle rather differently, I know. (Maybe I'll need to make two jackets!) :-)
Yay! I'm happy to hear you're attempting a jacket :) for this version I used a mid weight corduroy. Waxed cotton and light weight denim are both fabrics that would work great for the ilford!
Oh my god I’ve searched through so many videos and this is the exact video I needed! Thank you!!!
That u-turn method for the bias is awesome! Thanks for sharing!
What if you did the liner and the placket on the sleeve together before attaching the sleeve to the body of the jacket? This might help the liner stay in place more instead of being entirely free floating inside the jacket
Your fabric picks are wonderful !!!
Chelsea! I loved hearing you talk about all your projects! Please do more of these!
Chelsea, I was at your recent panel discussion in Berkeley. Hearing you talk about your pattern company motivated me to purchase another one of your patterns. In this video I appreciate that you share that you use patterns from other companies (even though your own patterns are especially wonderful).
Wow. Thank you!
Love this content. You can do know wrong. Hey if you want those dungarees then go for it. 🤩
Has anyone made this with a waffle knit fabric?
Subscribed!
OMG I love that. As a musician I use garment bags a lot but never had a very practical one. This one deffenetly looks like a easy one to wear and carry!
❤
this was BRILLIANT ! I loved every bit. inspiring, interesting, informative!!! thank you!! been thinking about doing another wilder too (got one / viscose) - so thats reminded me! and the daughter Judy coats - wow. loved listening to your ideas and thoughts. thanks again.
Have you used woven for a lining on knitted fabric? I was wondering if I could do this
I am planning to make my first Ilford jacket from a navy blue quilted fabric, similar to your black fabric. Any tips for collar and front facings with already quilted fabric would be welcome 😀 Beyond that, I am thinking about some basics - long sleeve tshirt style sweaters. After sewing four Heather blazers this past spring, I haven’t sewn much over the summer, just StyleArc Bob pants, because of house projects - I am tired… I love the green fabric you bought - beautiful shade. It will look wonderful whatever you decide to make. 👍🏻
A Daughter Judy Thompson Coat in the "gumby green" wool would be very bold, fun, chic, and mod, especially with colorful statement buttons. 😊 I'm going to make that coat in a lime green corduroy - excited about it!
I love your ideas! Please be sure to post them as you finish them!
Loved this. And totally get the honouring of fabric…..❤❤
Yes! Love this thank you for sharing! I love the overalls idea with the two brick linen fabrics. I think contrasting them would be beautiful and unique and not juvenile at all! Im thinking right side and left side contrasting tones.
❤❤❤
Good video, I enjoyed ut, would love to see more!
Awesome suggestions and makes me want to go revisit the Wilder in a more fall like fabric!
The fabric for the Wilder is beautiful. You’ll wear that dress forever.
love those plans. I too am also starting in on my fall sewing beginning with a long simple wrap skirt in a light weight corduroy. The color is very similar to your pair of red fabrics and screams autumn. One thing I am compelled to share with you is in regard to the pronunciation of saguaro, the protected gorgeous tree type cactus that we have in the dry southwest of the US. The “g” is pronounced as a “w”. Obviously you are not the only seamstress mispronouncing it but if you could pronounce it correctly I know that your followers will also pronounce it correctly. I probably come off as being knit-picky but it is such a venerated (and protected) unique cactus that it deserves to be pronounced correctly. I am enjoying your videos and wish to thank you for taking the time to share them here. ❤
Oh! So interesting about the pronunciation. Thanks from Australia
I live in the dry southwestern US, too, for 30 years now.... So, I can't put the "g" and "w" sounds together? 😅 It's Suh-wahr-oh, instead of Suh-gwahr-oh?? 😅 I feel like I've heard it before as you described, but it quickly fades upon seeing the spelling. Being a native speaker of English, I think it's all good since 90% of us will say it wrong anyway - hold the stones! 😂
@@des_des_00 ask google how to pronounce it, I do that whenever I encounter a word that is new to me. In my opinion word pronunciation can be very tricky, case in point are many names of Scottish folks including my little grandson whose name in Eoin, pronounced Owen. , but this is a handy service google offers.
I can’t wait to see your Ilford coat with Peter Pan collar
You are just the cutest explaining your ideas!! I like them, I like them! Happy sewing!!!
I think the pogonip is a great idea for the green fabric. It has some great colorblocking opportunities that remain fun but less gumby.
Seasonal sewing plans are some of my favorite types of sewing videos to watch! Always nice to get some inspiration, see what insprires others, and some forward-looking momentum to embracing the seasons. Cheers to your Autumn makes!
I loved this Chelsea! Always love hearing what others are sewing 😊
